On your recommendation I purchased these on cyber Monday "GVM 800D-RGB LED Studio 3-Video Light Kit" Truly a great set up at a phenomenal price! Work extremely well for my photography & videography shoots being portable. One of the best light setups I own for key lighting & ambient rear flood lightning. Thanks Sean for the excellent recommendation 🤟

I have this kit and use these lights quite often. I feel like the light quality can be a bit harsh even with the diffuser panel, so I use some baking parchment paper as another diffuser layer and attach it to the barn doors with some inexpensive binder clips I picked up from the dollar store. Works like a charm and the light looks nice and soft!
J Escalona yes there is! However the diffuser on the light still give a harsh light instead of something soft. Dimming the light will just bring the brightness down. Difference between texture vs. intensity.
I previously purchased fovitec lights at your recommendation, but they were defective and required multiple replacements before the manufacturer ultimately offered to issue me a refund and admitted a problem with their supplier. Here's hoping these work out better, because I do trust your recommendations and appreciate your videos.

First time here and I had to subscribe. Here's why: Too often while researching some bit of gear, I have to sit though what appears to be a Netflix trailer just to get to the info. Creators are spending a lot of the video's run time making the thing look cinematic, but at the expense of delivering less content. You just showed that you can deliver all of the information I need in a nice looking video while being very professional. I hope this is how you do all your videos.

If you already have the Neewer 480 led version of these lights (I do and it’s been rock solid for 6 months!) then you might want to know that Neewer has add-on barn doors available for $23. Like your review says, barn doors are indispensable for fine-tuning your set, and that’s been the only thing missing for me to make this the perfect RUclips production light. Thanks for spreading the word about how important lighting is, and for giving recommendations on a cost-effective solution. Well done!
Dude I’ve been following your Channel for a while. And I must tell you that you inspired me so much! Especially during this difficult times! I just got the lights, and I agree that you have to move the bracket to the other pair of holes if you want to tilt down because of the barn door issue. Here's a tip: when you swap to the other pair of holes, you should also flip the bracket so you're securing the old right side of the bracket to the old left side of the light, and vice versa. If you don't do that, then when you go to put it back in the bag, the nut that secures the bracket to the light stand will not fit in the foam insert. It's easy enough to cut away the extra bit of foam with a pair of unremarkable scissors. That's what I did for one bag, and then I realized I could flip it, so that's what I did for the other bag. Also, when you first open up the bag, you'll find that the power supply and cables are in their own plastic bags. I wouldn't recommend throwing those plastic bags away. They make it a _lot_ easier to get everything to fit back in the box when you pack up. Edit: I take back my own advice. Switching the brackets left and right means that the light is upside down when in use. To me, that's more annoying that just cutting the foam. Plus, when it's upside down, I feel like any attached batteries aren't secured by the first-string defenses against gravity. So yeah, standard issue scissors and you're all set.
After watching several reviews on several lighting options, I back tracked to your video and bought these lights through your link. Thanks for another excellent video, I found it very enlightening.

Bought the 3-pack of these recently and they are great portable lights. I use them in the studio and in the field. I also use them with the Aputure 120d II LED with the Light Storm dome. Amazing lighting setup!
I have that yongnuo light I got for $10 bucks at a store that buys pallets of stuff from Amazon. I could easily resell this for $50-60 bucks but I'll just keep it for now.
I'm a professional actor, but even before that my root has been semi-pro photographer and filmmaker. This is the sort of lighting we see on set in Hollywood but at the more reality, documentary filmmaker budget. The bottom line here is, the pros rent all their equipment. When you arrive on a professional film or television base camp, there are a bunch of truck trailers, and it's all rented by Production. So they always have the latest, greatest equipment from cameras to props. But when it's just you, no matter how experienced and expert you are, you're most likely going to own all your equipment. You might occassionally rent a great lens you can't afford to own, but generally you're going to use the best equipment you can afford to own. To me, in my significant experience, this is the best bang for your buck at a professional level, at home. On a professional production, there is a Director of Lighting and a Director of Photography, and they each have their own crews. It takes about five people just to operate a camera, one camera. At home, or on RUclips, it's just you. You can't do better than this without either breaking the bank or going beyond your non-specialist ability to actually operate the equipment. This is not pro-level stuff, but it's also not a selfie stick with ambient light.
i dont know if you got them in the us, but i bought 2 Falcon eyes DV-96V for 35 euro's each. Great for the people who want to start creating video's and looking for a budget friendly price. You can screw them on tripods so dont need them on your camera. And wireless!. Not the best lightings for sure. But it does its job better than nothing!. Havent shoot a video with it but looking forward to use them.
Hi. I just ordered the Neewer Advance 2.4 G 660LED Video Light, Dimmable Bi Color LED Panel with LCD SCreen and 2.4 Wireless Remote...I purchased it on Amazon for $117.99. Did I make a good purchase?

Any recommendations for shooting product reviews? Thoughts? I don't have very much lighting options now, bc I usually shoot outside. However, I want to film more inside now.. will be ok? should I go with Umbrella or Soft Box? Please help.. THANKS SEAN!

I'm sorry, it was never quite clear whether these are only good for upperbody type framing, or whether they'll perform okay lighting fullbody shots and/or fullbody twoshots...?
which lights are you using to light this video? Do the barn doors come off both the Neewer and the Fovitec Studio Pro? Which light is brighter - the Neewer or the Studio Pro?
How important do you think consider the softboxes you can purchase seperately from the lights (or bundled together in a package)? Do they make the Newer lights significantly better than if you don't have them?

Havent shoot a video with it but looking forward to use them.
wow this kit is now 209. Still going to order. sick of this cheap 34 dollar light I got. It is huge and just is not working.
Hi. I just ordered the Neewer Advance 2.4 G 660LED Video Light, Dimmable Bi Color LED Panel with LCD SCreen and 2.4 Wireless Remote...I purchased it on Amazon for $117.99. Did I make a good purchase?
Just what I needed. Need to improve the lighting in the recent videos I recorded. I usually use natural sunlight... but where I’m at the sun is going down earlier, lol. Thanks!
The BDM Perspective can I have a follow back✌🏻😀👍🏻
Any recommendations for shooting product reviews? Thoughts? I don't have very much lighting options now, bc I usually shoot outside. However, I want to film more inside now.. will be ok? should I go with Umbrella or Soft Box? Please help.. THANKS SEAN!
Just picked them up. Can’t wait to use them on my next YT video. Thanks 🙏
Hey how is it holding up, am new to lighting equipments, how much should someone get? 2? 3?
@@pheliceafoster2752 I love these lights. I got 2 of them. I already had another cheap light I use for my hair light. They have lightning deals quite often so I got like 25% off
@@JustinHouser ok, thank you for getting back to me
Currently using softboxes, I found LED lights really hot and hard to adjust. Do you find these lights ever get too hot? By hot I mean too bright not temperature...
I love it guys
BATTERY QUESTION: Do you have an estimation as to how long an NP-660 will run on a pair of 2600 mAh batteries vs. a pair of 8800 mAh batteries? Thanks!
Am buying these for my RUclips I already have 2 led lights not from neweer but I feel they ant enough
How far away should lights like this be from one's face for a talking head video and in which direction/position relative to the person speaking?
would this be an alternative to ring lights or would you use these in combination with a ring light for a seated video?
These would eliminate the use of a ring light really.
I bought 50 lights
At the 99 cent store they sell these 9 led lights for 99 cents
I bought 50 and it’s amazing!
“Best lighting kit under $150!”....clicks on Amazon link....”$210” 🙄
Exactly 🤣
Isn't it obvious, price will rise after 1 year 😒 you were 1 year late 🤣
Yooo Eric’s comment 😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂
😂
Yup, it happens
Does it charge the batteries when using with batteries and plugged in?
And for those on a budget there are tea light candles
Definitely planning on investing in lighting equipment for my channel soon. Great information in this video
Check these out if you need some inexpensive lights. We use these for our show and they are perfect. Small lightweight and come complete with the tripods!!www.amazon.com/gp/product/B07T8FBZC2/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_asin_title_o00_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1
Lisa Howard can I have a follow back✌🏻😀👍🏻
@@arikvarden My son's a vegan so your content is of interest. I'm looking forward to hearing about your recipes
Lisa Howard thank you 🙏
I'm sorry, it was never quite clear whether these are only good for upperbody type framing, or whether they'll perform okay lighting fullbody shots and/or fullbody twoshots...?
should have included must more test footage to see how it evenly it casts light and how intensity varys across scene.
which lights are you using to light this video?
Do the barn doors come off both the Neewer and the Fovitec Studio Pro?
Which light is brighter - the Neewer or the Studio Pro?
Might pick these up for interviews
Hi Sean, What's the best light kit now in 2023? I'm your new student, please let us know. Thank you!!
Is it possible to mount to ceiling?
If yes what sort of attachment do I need?
I think godox sl60 is also at $114 at Amazon India . For the price it is impressive
These lights are $200 now. I can't even count how many things you've made me buy. My wallet is starting to hate you now.

Have you made any money yet?
Other than barn doors, what are we losing if we go for the Neewer 480s?
LED's (im no pro, but surely they do not give as much light)
Love to see a video of how you use these lights as obvious as that might be for some.
Love the lighting kit and the video!!!...Great work Sean!!!
Very helpful, thanks. I've been using cheap daylight CFL lights with diffuser umbrellas for my Diabetes channel, but I'm ready for an upgrade
Is this good for night photography for portraits?
Hoping this light might work as a hair light. Supreme quality in all your vids Sean. Love when I see the notifications! Cheers, 💛
How important do you think consider the softboxes you can purchase
seperately from the lights (or bundled together in a package)? Do they
make the Newer lights significantly better than if you don't have them?
