In the video, your skin color actually looks more natural with the LED. Though I am going to buy a soft box as the reflection in my glasses is annoying.
Agree, face looks better with the led lights on, though I'd say, colour temp would be perfect just between the led lights and the softbox. With the softbox the face looses depth, everything seems so flat, it doesn't give a natural feeling.
Notice that the SL60W doesn’t provide good R9 value at only 90. Also CRI and TLCI values are not the best. Therefore the skin tone should be shifted towards yellow
Your video lighting is perfect. I don't understand why so many content creators now think it is a good idea to make their videos dim with shadows-makes no sense to me.
Hi Adrian, thank you for you comparation! I prefer the two LED Panel, because the soft box it's too bright on you forehead... Between the "shadow" problem on the glasses and the burnt forehead, I'd choose the shadows!
Thanks for sharing your lighting set up! That is something that I am currently trying to figure out…and with GLASSES it’s really TOUGH!!! This is very encouraging to try a couple of new things!
I can't help but say you have such beautiful and kind hearted smile. Not sure what kind of a person you are but your smile and how talk just made me feel that way. Thank you for this video. Could you make one comparing cheaper led panel lights and soft boxes? I am on the fence about buying this $50/60 led panels and how good they will be for my RUclips videos (beauty category)
Great video! - I'm currently in the process of switching out my large softboxes for LED panels. - But I have to say, I prefer the softer light from the softboxes - but they take up too much space in my drum room, which is really tight for space!! - I like the convenience of the LED panels, that they are small and compact so you can mount them on the ceiling so they are out of the way. I may see if I can keep a softbox as my main key light, then use the LED panels as fill lights and back light. Helpful video, thanks!
@@raywalker22 Yeah I switched out my fluorescent soft boxes for 2 led panels. I want to get a third so I have a 3 point lighting set up. They are very bright, more convenient and are more configurable. However they are still not as soft as I’d like though, so may get a couple of umbrellas to diffuse the lighting further. Based on reviews they appear to be cheaper and more effective than the led panel soft boxes.
@@benjaminpeternorris thank you! I have been thinking about getting led panels because I have a super small room and I have to set up the soft boxes and remove them it’s takes lots of time and don’t have the space. What type of led lights are you using currently?
@@raywalker22 I’m using the Neewer Advanced 2.4G 660 LED panels with remote off Amazon. They do come with a diffusion panel that slots in over the leds to provide a bit of softness - but it’s not quite as effective as a soft box. It really depends on what sort of lighting effect you are after, so you may find you don’t need additional diffusion. They are definitely neater and take up less space, as I have them ceiling mounted to avoid needing light stands.
The only reason you don’t see the shadow with the soft box is cause if it’s position. It’s casting a shadow but it lines up with the frame of the glasses. The panels are from the sides which don’t line up. If he swaps light positions the outcome would be reversed.
Please tell me if I want to take a full-length shot of myself in the dark and I have a black fabric background, which panel or softbox would be better, or maybe a few world swords?
Recently I've been collecting more soft boxes Used from Gumtree London for very cheap... Usually the neewer brand...they came with photography bulbs at around 5500k to 6000k but I'm thinking of getting some pro wireless e27 mount rgb remote control bulbs🤔
I want to purchase a new softbox for my RUclips video making. Some of the soft boxes I saw online doesn't seem to have a space to insert led bulbs. Does it imply that there are two types of softboxes, for lighting videos and for photography? Please clarify things for me. You can also recommend setup videos for me. I need to know how to set it up for RUclips filming. Thanks.
Thank you, I’m thinking the same thing before my purchase - and in addition with the round soft light you do get a little catchlight in the eyes, right?

it depends on the style you're after and who your audience are

That can be fixed with light placement tho. You can have the best of both worlds
@@nocalebno What could he change with the light placement to fix this?
i wished the color temperature on both the lights were synced so that we could se better differences.
Thanks for sharing your lighting set up! That is something that I am currently trying to figure out…and with GLASSES it’s really TOUGH!!! This is very encouraging to try a couple of new things!
Hello! But for a soft light you can use an SMD LED panel plus an umbrella. And the effect will be similar, even softer than Godox SoftBox.
Thanks for a really informative video, Love your professionalism mate.
Just the question I had in my mind. Thanks for clearing it up!
You’re welcome

Very very helpful video! Thank you so much. Easy to understand and to see the difference between both products 👏🏽
Thanks Juan! I'm glad I could help 🙂
Everyone, look at the shadows beneath the glasses with the Soft Box vs. Panel Light. HUGE difference
The softbox looks great

Good work Adrian. This gave me a clarity on which kind of light to use.
Keep going....
Glad it was helpful!
Thanks! It's so useful. I'm a glasses wearer and that does seem to make buying lights a harder operation
For sure
How about One center LED panel with a diffuser?
Yes, but try to get the diffuser as big as possible
good video
but i must say one thing if u put led panel in centre then may it give like soft effects? not?
Great video! Such a good comparison and love your style. You mention you've got a video on the domed softbox but I don't seem to be able to find it.

Yes, try aperture, they have a nice bulb👍
This was really helpful, thank you!
Perfect lighting
Very helpful Adrian! I’m looking to replace my Elgato Key Lights!
Nice video thanks. How much fan noise does the Godox make, is it picked up by the mic?
We have two and one make noise (but it it only like a fan) and the other doesn't
After the years is this still the best setup? or are there better softboxes on the market
these globe softboxes are my favourite and what I've used for the past 12 months or so ruclips.net/video/5FkaCC5ixtw/видео.htmlsi=CbN3GiQV-d9DTy9e

Is the other video focused more on the dome light available?
Sorry, we had issues with the recording but have just re-recorded a short comparison video the should be up in a few weeks 👍

I’m on the godox globe

Great Video! Which stand do you use for the Godox light with the softbox?
It's in our kit list kit.co/AdrianSalisbury/pro-video-academy-2022-equipment-list
Is that 65 cw lantern softbox?
Great informative video ✨ 👍
Bro the soft box is bigger than the Led panels that’s why its looks better. And because soft boxes are better, the bigger the light source the better.
Absolutely 👍
Which rode microphone you are using?
it is because they are direct led, instead of indirect led panels.
I personally like the look of the LED panel more on you
The soft box leaves a green color cast on your skin, whereas the LED do not. How to prevent that?
thanks
Next: Collar mic, or rode (like) mic
for me its the softbox whos winning
product links don't work
Led panel if you don't have glasses else softbox. IMHO.
HATE the black shirt.
A floating head and flying hands.
Skin looks yellow with softbox.
That's just a white balance setting, trust me the softbox is way nicer.
The light behind you really helps. What kind is it?
