Little confusion between HARDNESS of the light (given by the apparent size of the source) and the CONTRAST (given by the distance between source and subject) The closer the source, the softer the light. The closer the source, the higher the contrast. But: the smaller the source, the harder it delivers light, this being modulated by the distance as indicated above. This is why in a studio, we use sources of different sizes. As a reminder: hard light = very clear transition from shadow to light. Soft light = very gradual transition from shadow to light, with an intermediate zone called "penumbra". Hardness therefore concerns ONLY transitions. Contrast = difference between highlights and shadows. This is how you can have a light that is both very soft AND very contrasting.
This one kinda freaked me out - I have literally just had a chat with my boos (a.k.a my girlfriend 🤣 ) about my need for a new light 🤯 All I have to do is show her your video Joris and I'm sorted 😁....thanks for that man 🤣. Great video as always Joris 🤟
Thank you for reassurance. I just saw godox F600BI and the light is so soft with flexible panel. Start to worry about 2 of my godox with big softbox but looking at the price. I’m staying with my light haha
Great video Joris! Thanks so much. I'm looking at these for my studio. Only thing is they might be running for 5-6 hours at a time. Would that matter? Are they capable to run for that duration multiple times a week? Thanks
What is the core difference between a $150 LED light panel(like GVM 1200D)and a $5,000 LED light panel(like Arri Skypanel and Gemini)? Why can their prices vary so much? Are they even using the same LED technology?
No one has explained it in this way before. Bro, thank you.

Nicely done, made it an easy decision for me. I like the soft box look the best.

Holy yisus man, you just opened the doors of heaven with that 100% intensity xD
😇
Great video man, you've been very helpful finding equipment for my job. Btw what kind of lights do you use for the colored background?

Absolutely no problem, mine are running for several hours (4-5-6) every day too.
Had to visit this video before buying on Amazon Prime Day 2022. Haha. Thanks, Joris!
I'm still using it. 💯👌🏻😎
it IS harder to make them soft LOL love tis video well done amigo
Great video 🙏
It's more simple, large single light, or three point lighting with smaller panels.
Great stuff… thanks for sharing. 😀
Благодарю Вас за такое информативное и наглядное видео!
Would you recommend this light for a freelance makeup artist?

Thanks
Thx
Can you link the vidéo of whoever is using an umbrella with this light, Im curious
Somewhere in the second half of the video: ruclips.net/video/kvbiFvGugo4/видео.html
Haha! 1:54 Blimey! That is powerful.
Very good video. Can you recomend us a Video light with softbox for around $50.00 or $60.00. Watching you from The Dominican Republic.
I think the light works best for product shots
are u back from vacationing
Sadly yes 😭🏝️
2:30 why use a grid
So I have more control over the light. If I don't use one, it will spill onto the background and I don't want that.
@@JorisHermans Thanks for sharing this great tip, Joris. I learned a lot from your video.
