I have the elgato and it is constantly dropping in and out on my wifi. I say that physical controls on the unit is a requirement unless you want to have headaches with wireless connections. They are not 100% reliable. I'm going to try the neewer.
I’ve been watching stream light videos for the past hour trying to get educated. Thank God your video was in my feed. Hands down, the best video I’ve seen. You have great comparisons and explained all the features clearly. You’ve earned a new sub! Thanks!
From experience, would advise against Neewer because of privacy concerns with access to contacts and requesting for elevated privelidges on your computer. Using it without pc controls which drastically reduces it's value and functionality. Using elgato lights moving forward.
To clarify. To use the Elgato light YOU HAVE TO HAVE WIFI to use it. Why in the world would Elgato make this a requirement? It’s the reason I returned it immediately.
Do you mind sharing what your lamps are in the background (the ones you controlled with the remote)? They look very cool and I need a some lamps like that for my setup. (And thanks, great review! Going with the Godox.)
Can these be used straight from the wall outlet or do they all have a built-in/non-replacable battery that can't be bypassed when not using them wirelessly?
They all look great! I just have ring lights at the moment. How do these 3 compare to cheaper versions on Amazon? Do the cheap ones flicker or have other issues?
Some of the cheaper options definitely will flicker! Some are okay though. We wouldn't recommend spending less than $75-100 on a streaming light or you run the risk of some serious color shifting happening in your image.
Just a heads up! Unless I am having a brain goof, I see that the extra diffuser recommended in the show notes is smaller in dimensions than the Godox ES45 I just ordered? So I decided not to order the diffuser. Not sure if the extra product recommendation is applicable only to the other 2 lights.
You skipped over the main reason the elgato light is great for me. It appears on your network completely open and easy to use. So you can control it anyway you like from any OS or any device, no need for their software. It is the one reason I don’t use my aputure lights because you are stuck using sidus which is terrible and very limiting. One command from any device controls the elgatos and that is amazing. I use bitfocus companion on my streamdecks which is so powerful compared to the terrible sw provided by elgato and the open endpoint on the lights makes them very powerful.
This is really cool! I We just looked into it and it seems like a really sweet option. We were not aware of bit focus companion, but it looks like it really opens up some options for tech like the Elgato Key light! Thanks for sharing and for giving the community more insight!
Yes you can buy a softbox to go over the light for additional diffusion. I added it in the video description for you if you want to check it out - Hope that helps!
@@ThinkMediaTVI purchased the soft box linked in description and I can’t figure out how it fits the godox. Any chance you can make a video / short for this?
Hello, I have a quiz channel, but for some time now, I have not received any good views. I even checked the competing channels, they also did not have good views. What is the reason?
We personally use the Godox light a lot. We even add an addition soft box over it for additional light diffusion. (added link in description if interested)

Solid point
I think they are assuming streamers would have Wi-Fi
Assuming ppl buying these would have Wi-Fi isn't that crazy
@@TommyDavidVerbal making it a requirement is the crazy part
can these desk light replace stand lights like godox sl60W, considering we usually make talking head videos and desk view kinda videos
@@ThinkMediaTV I laughed at this harder than I should’ve 😂😂😂
Yup, I got 2 x Godox for alternate recording areas. Awesome.
Awesome!!
Can you use one remote to control both lights?
@@wo2746 Yup :)
My question is, are these lights rechargeable or you have to plug it in while using?
i got a gl1 for 20$ it def does the job very well. Saving money from the elgato forsure
great review, to the point and comprehensive. Once you showed the remote on the Godox I was on Amazon, two and through. Thanks for your help.

Great interview with the great team
FYI, I made a free 3D printable grid system for the Elgato Keylight to reduce light spill
Oh and I also made videos about controlling the Elgato Keylight from a Loupedeck and from Home Assistant 😊
I was just looking for this kind of video lol. Your timing is perfect as I just rearranged my desk against a wall 😅
Love to hear it! Let us know how dialing in the new setup goes.

Which is better between keylight and ringlight? I want to record webcam video.
thanks kraig 🙌 keep it up
Could you also use this light for food photography at night? Random question 😅
Yes! You just might want to add an extra layer of diffusion to soften up the light

Exactly what I was looking for🎉
Thanks for info!
Sorry it's not clear which of them come with a stand, and which do not? I see the Godox does include one, but what about the other two?
Hi @sonarfreq, all 3 come with a stand!
These lights are awesome! 🎉

Can anyone compare these against LED panels with soft boxes (such as Godox Godox FL150S) ...?
I'M FINDING IT DIFFICULT TO NOTICE IF THIS LIGHT USE BATTERIES, CUS THIS WOULD BE A VERY MASSIVE UPGRADE😊…
PLEASE RESPOND 🙏🏼
What happens if the remote controller is broken?
You could run the light from the app. But... if you break the controller I suppose you have a pretty serious issue on your hands haha.
@@ThinkMediaTV Can you control two Good 45 with one controller?
the high frequencies in your mic is WAY too hot. flatten out your EQ a bit PLEASE!
Siempre veo tus videos. Gracias boor el consejo
Why would someone choose these lights over a cob light if space wasnt the concern? larger diffusion options?
