Sean was the very first RUclips coach I had. The teaching on that channel has literally molded my channel and its growth
Sean is a stud. He has earned his place at the top. One of the most genuine creators I know.
Appreciate you! Thanks for sharing this. 🙏🏻💯
Me too. Sean and Casey Neistat are/were my RUclips mentors
I’m a big fan of Think Media and appreciate how they handled Nolan’s departure. They may be mad at him competing but Sean seem's very humble. He isn't sweating it. I don’t think Nolan leaving negatively impacted them much at all. In fact, my respect for Nolan dropped after he left. His new content seems focused on only monetizing his audience, giving off a vibe of 'feel bad for me and buy my program so I can get rich.' On the other hand, Think Media consistently provides valuable content for free in every video.
Now you've mentioned it you're right
Being a lawyer before I started RUclips, I've given people contracts to sign. It seems a little odd when you have 100 followers and you sign an agreement that says they're not getting paid. But what if that video ends up making serious money for your channel and they come back asking for a cut? There's a delicate balance between protecting yourself and keeping things fun.
@@weeklyfascination why would anyone sign a contract not to get paid? What’s in it for them?
Tbh yeah, thats the vibe I was feeling too
Valuable content indeed. I will soon start uploading my projects on a regular basis for this particular channel as well as my other RUclips channels. Sean Cannell constantly shares helpful tips and I am truly grateful for him and the Think Media Team.
Sean Cannell is indeed a Force For Good
I got to meet Sean in person and just in the 5 minutes conversation he gave me more than a few tip s that helped me grow my channel
I appreciate you having him on, he showed his authentic self and I appreciate that!
Bro we must watch the same channels haha. Great minds. Gather everything I can from these guys
Tbh, I reached out to both him and Nolan. Nolan may come on at some point, but Sean was ready to go. Breakups are unfortunate, but they happen. The best thing you can do is show love and try to separate business and personal.
💛
I didn’t know there was a conflict, sorry to hear that. I just like hearing the speakers thoughts in real time 🙏
Wow a RUclipsr who actually reads the comments and listens to his viewers
The only way we have a community is if I listen to the audience. That said, I do have selective listening skills and ignore quite often as well. lol
@@raffitimedia yeah, I just wanna say that you're the best man, truly. (No ass kissing) You actually give so much value with a no B.S. approach, looking at things very analitcally wether it's pleasant or not.
I can't even call you a RUclips guru, because that scene is so religious and some of the advice that other "RUclips gurus" give can literally destroy channels.
Some of the lines you say are down right hilarious
Like " guys, I watched some of your content and it kinda sucks, I know some ai voices that sound better than you guys" when u said that I almost fell of my chair, and it still stays with me.
You literally took your own channel from the grave. Watching you, and adopting your strategy and attitude LITERALLY saved one of my channels, it's crazy man! I'll be so proud to say in a year" I was there when Scott was getting 400 views per video!"
Trying to always improve in this area 🙏🏻
Without hearing the Nolan story or Nolan side there is no sense to judge this matter. Omar, Nolan never got the chance to share there side of the story.
Sean stated that he supports Omar in his desire to create his own channel "The Dept." However, I have not heard Sean talk about Nolan.
What an amazing guest for your first interview on this channel! 👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼
Yessir! Sean and I have known one another for years. It was good timing.
We still don’t know what happened with Nolan
Agreed, either way it's crap he's not with Think anymore.
Definitely it's about money. Not to sound mercenary but Nolan for sure is rewarded more in his own channel. 2nd - relationship it seems he is not being rewarded too relationship wise or the relationship he wants to honor or prioritize will be more nurtured by taking the risk on his own channel.
Many of these RUclips guru channels are evil, preying on desperate people, giving them false hope... selling them a course or endless other garbage that isn't necessary. Tip for anyone wanting to be successful at RUclips: You don't need to buy a course - everything you need to know can be found for free. There are no secrets at all. Period.
That's extreme, most of these people are not evil. Yes you can find most of this stuff for free, but it's extremely time-consuming to do so. A good course is often way more useful because it condenses all of the knowledge into one package, like a book. If you aren't spending money to educate yourself in various aspects of life you're wasting a lot of time and limiting your growth dramatically. The mindset of trying to get everything for free is also self-defeating.
@@NickAndTechmost people don’t have your wisdom. They think because it’s for free that they don’t need guidance. Success comes in being taught and taught well! A random video can’t teach you a skill, and help you save time. A course and a teacher who has been tested can bring you to your destination quicker!
Been waiting for this one! I like sean, i like nolan, i like channel makers. Not a fan of nate tho. Lets go
hahaha 3/4 aint bad
I've always been fascinated with what's really going on behind the scenes. I always felt that when weighing in options, a full picture of the business model, including the back end is necessary ... not just the pretty front end facade. Thank you for this rare opportunity to listen and learn.
P.S. Just a minor comment: I noticed that you took the time to reduce the pauses and blanks in your conversation. I appreciate that because otherwise, it would have been a much longer video. However, in the process, it was difficult for me to identify the begining and ending of the sentences or thoughts from Sean. It was like one continues long rant of bullet points, and sometimes difficult to understand the primary message.
Sean can talk so effortlessly it’s truly amazing. He’s such a great commentator. Also you’re a really good interviewer as well too because you really let him talk and you engaged him with a lot of open ended questions and let the audience listen.
I like the quote: “Stay small, keep it all” 🎉
Interesting hearing Sean's take on working the "RUclips Career"
I've listened to about 95% of his every word and because he's so positive and a good youtube role model you don't realize the daily struggles and worries/fear of operating behind the curtains. He kept it Real. Great interview!
Thanks, Steve! Yeah, Sean is a real one on RUclips. I have told him a few times that he is one of the best guys on the platform. He genuinely wants the best for people around him.
💛
Click bait is a great way to lose respect for your channel.
How is this clickbait? It's about exactly what it says it's about.
Scott, this is a powerful video! Two founders and CEO talking about how they grew their companies is something I was listening too really close.
Unfortunately just because of the size of my channel and the fact I’m not monetized yet is the reason I can’t hire a team and sustain it. And be able to take this full time.
I need my second job to sustain me financially right now. I’m in debit.
But I’m fighting with everything I got to hopefully one day earn a chance to be interviewed by someone like yourself to share my story how I’m going from being in the hole in debit to hopefully one day being out of debit and running a successful business coming out of the channel I have.
Thank you for everything. And I hope this video gets big recommendation man! This is solid gold here!
Honestly, I have been where you are. Keep stacking skills and looking for opportunity. You'll make it.
@@raffitimedia I appreciate it! And that’s the plan man. It’s the reason why I listen to you, Sean and others who run successful channels and companies. You’ve all been there.
So you all are just the right people to tell me if I’m following the right path or off track.
Thanks for the feedback. Appreciate you Leo!
@@ThinkMediaPodcast Just as I told Scott, I hope to one day earn the ability to do interviews telling my story too. And it’s my hope that I can tell my story on think media as well on day in the future!
Always love to hear from Sean and the team!
You didn’t ask about Nolan Molt. What happened?
Sean is my favorite, VRA Fam!
The title tricked me so I'm glad this was an interview and not anything negative. But loving this though. Another great video!
Yeah, I tried to clickbait without going too far. I think I pissed a few people off. lol Thank you!
This is as one of the most valuable interviews I’ve listened to with what I’m trying to do! Great work man
Great to hear! I try to take notes when I am listening so I can have a more natural conversation. I hoped that helped. Thank you!
🙏🏻💛
Sean will be forever my YT coach in my heart. I have so much respect for him.
Me too. I started my second YT channel after years of NOTHING after I lost my first channel... because of Sean. It's been a while since, and I noticed that without listening to him, I stopped building my channel. Back to Sean. God bless you, Sean Cannell.❤❤❤❤❤❤
Vertical live content is destroying the platform. YT should concentrate on making their platform better than TikTok instead of copying it. By the way, big fan of Sean. We live in the same city and his channel helped me get started.
🙏🏻💛
My dream is to one day be part of the think media team. ❤ Sean is an inspiration. He provides great point and is real. Thanks for this video. 🙏
the weird way this video is 46:30 minutes long and nothing was really said.
a classic guru tactic.... mindless gobbledegook just like their "tutorials" that go nowhere. Soon, I'm going to launch a channel and expose all of the RUclips "secrets" for free
comprehension is a skill... 🤷🏾♂
You're great at interviewing Scott. Two bright minds offering high value🔥🔥
Thanks, brother
By the thumbnail. I thought this was a Diss track/ video.
Surprised to see this interview.
I love think media.
I understand the delicacy behind the situation but to name drop Omar (and not address it on the TM channel), and dance around Nolan, is saying enough without saying much.
Great to see this collab pop up and interesting to hear both your thoughts on RUclips direct as a whole. Thanks 👍🏼💪🏼
This didn’t do it for me. Sean, you talk about your responsibility to Ian who just had a baby and employees - but you fired Nolan right after he had a baby. Then you infer employees are building on you / Think Media without fulfilling their obligations to TM? You love clarity, but you are not clear - you are suggesting without saying. It’s not cool for you as a CEO to make implications. You start by praising Omar, who is praise worthy, and then trail of into this crap with Nolan. And you spend the majority of the interview looking away which is very atypical for you. I’m not questioning your knowledge or skill, but integrity. You are not congruent. Saying you were betrayed but you take responsibility - this was a poor move on your part and I don’t think it will age well. My opinion. And in the media business - when you hire people for their skill set and develop them, and you all grow together - to expect them not to use their skills to feed their family after you fire them is ridiculous. Leaders create leaders - but ps sign this doc because you actually won’t be able to lead for a period of x many months/years after you leave or I fire you. It just doesn’t play. There’s so many ways to handle the same situation & I think this was a series of poor choices.
It seems more of a PR interview vs finding out and getting his side of the story of the fired or laid off or quitting etc.
I'm loving this. I watch both of y'all regularly. I could watch this all day
Dang! Sean, if you see this....let's do a 12 hour live stream some day. jk jk...lol. Thank you!
The convo will continue soon on the Think Media Podcast 🔥
Fascinating video. Thanks for doing this!
Fantastic interview guys! I'm learning so much from you.
15:44 Why we are here on this earth? I love that a conversation about media turns to deep life questions! We are co-creators and stewards of the gifts we have been given.
Love Sean! His work has helped me grow my channel to over 15K subs!
Thanks for sharing this Raul. Appreciate you. You're crushing!
This was amazing, I've been thinking a lot of my own growth as of recently. This helped me give myself permission to let myself grow without fear. Thank you for this. You both helped me gain some much needed perspective.
Hello from Gatlinburg TN Smoky Mountains Park...Sean is very nice as he's replied to me often
Appreciate you Sean!
@@ThinkMediaPodcast absolutely!! I hope you're doing well Sean!🙏
Being a solo business owner even though we may do for passion it can drain you mentally and physically. Although I love editing stuff for leisure, it is overwhelming the amount of information, purgatory tutorials etc so I take a step back and disconnect from this temporarily to recharge. Not easy
Great stuff guys! Thank you for being so transparent. Both stand-up guys on the screen there, and they work well together. I hope to see more colabs like this in the future. Be well! 🌟
🙏🏻💛
When someone cannot look into the camera, constantly looking to the left..... nah. I know a lot of people like Sean... but there are more reasons why people leave or break up relationships. this is one sided. There is another side to this as well. It feels to me that Sean is going down a religious path and that is the main driver for a lot of things. When you are an employee, you do grow. For a person to want to do more, grow etc, then it is an amazing but most leaders want to keep people in a box. I am the leader, God of my business, you stay in your chair, listen to me, and when I see you grow then push you down. People feel that they train you and because of that the channel grow. I think that Omar has been a pivotal reason for the growth etc. Where is the credit for this. Employees also bring things to your company. When Sean says being more assertive it sounds more like, "I should have been more of a disciplinary and keep you in your box."
Sean is a super knowledgeable dude. Great video here, lots of value in this one.
Thanks for the kind words Gavin!
Really, Raf?? No questions about what happened to Nolan? Very disappointing...
Listen to Sean's answers. He gives plenty of context
@@raffitimedia I did listen. No, he didn't. You wimped out, bro. Sad. I was expecting more from this interview. And you know that MANY people were wanting more explanation concerning what happened with Nolan considering the recent controversy of the situation. This was a bait and switch interview.
@@ChrisHunterSavesTheDay Agreed!
@@DigitalNomadsExplore Thank you.
Thanks for the heads up. Saving me from wasting 42 mins of my life. I’m 6 mins in.
The Forest Gump Lieutenant Dan misquote had me ready to checkout anyway.😹 Watch the clip. Lieutenant Dan pretty much says the exact opposite. He’s was ready for his showdown with God. lol ✌🏽
I gotta keep it real... Sean's book literally informed my thinking on how to build out a successful social strategy for my seminary and all the professors at our seminary (i am a executive director of social media and tech) as well.
Thanks to the Think Media team, and def to Sean!
Always grateful for Sean! Great first interview!! 👊
Grateful for you Trey!
First looked liked a hit piece in the Thumbnail. I was like oh no not Sean he is such a gentle guy. Both of you seem like good people, both with good advice, I follow both of you. Great video, good job!
Great Quote: "What if you develop your team members and they leave? What if you don't develop your team members and they stay?" - Sean Cannell
Congratulations on your interview! I enjoyed listening to it.
I love them all, but I wouldn't know any of them without Sean. ❤
When u gona interview a shorts creator?
This was a GOOD VIDEO Scott! Thanks for posting this. I like that, "Life is about learning and the journey."

Love SEAN. would not leave him. He’s a great coach.
Awesome content! Been looking up to the both of you, just know people are blessed with all that you do. Keep going!
Wow, the Forrest Gump analogy was a pretty good one. Thanks! Great info
Just started watching but I hope Sean talks about censorship and shadow ban.
Wow! Packed with value.
This was fantastic. Thanks for putting this together brother
I did this especially because I knew you would be watching. lol I got you!
This is why love Sean, he’s a stand up guy! Like he said two sides to a story, but thank you Sean for being a great and authentic leader, even at your losses🙏 @thinkmediatv
Oh man, you got me. I thought you gonna roast him. I wonder how many people thought the same.
Good stuff though. Very authentic, very honest interview.
There were a few it seemed to bother, but such is life. lol. Thank you!
I'm down for a roast.
Or rap battle...
@@ThinkMediaPodcast please don't ask for a roast on the internet. I've got lines😂.. but with this interview I'm happy I saw a more Human side of you. I do follow thinkmedia podcast and one thing I can say is that sometimes it feels a bit to scripty or like you're formating your longform to fit into short form. ...A bit distracting. But good stuff 👍.
This is good information. im glad i stumbled across this video. Its definitely helping me figure some stuff out in the spectrum of my business.
Great to see this type of videos. I think something similar is happening with podcasting
Great video and Think Media especially Sean was the reason I went on RUclips - you gotta just press record 😊
A little click baity the title and thumbnail but aren't we all on the same boat lol. I love Sean.

It's the media game we all learn to play. haha. Yes, Sean is a stud.
Attention economy. 😎
12 minutes in, do they talk about what happened at think media? Why Nolan quit/was fired? or was the thumbnail and title used to insinuate click bait? not hating, just wondering if the suggestive meta data delivers.
The last 3rd we talk about it.
@@raffitimedia well i guess my little impatient butt needed to chill a little longer before commenting lol. ima watch the rest now. thank you! and btw, thanks for all your awesome videos.

Just answer the question, Sean
Felt like I did. Which question are you referring to?
@@ThinkMediaPodcast I think it's obvious, Sean... Pineapple on pizza, yes or no? And don't try and gaslight us.

That is sooo cool. To Jean Sean start with Uncle Raff was fantastic. He’s such a lovely guy.
YES Dude. The value this channel brings is so undervalued IMO - so cool you've got Sean Cannell on the channel (that rhymes)
Truly really valuable videos here Scott! I'm a Music/Visual artist and there's a lot of advise here to help me weather the storm; although it does seem harder than ever to break through the signal-to-noise ratio, even with SEO & placement experiments! Aside from my own channel, I manage other channels & these perspectives are really helpful in sustaining growth and understanding the landscape!!!! Thanks so much!
You are very welcome! These are the types of conversations me and the YT nerds get together. lol. I hope I can have many more.
Name of this video should be: Interview with Sean Cannell.
One says they quit/left, the other says fired. There really are two sides to every story. No three sides, what really happened.

@@raffitimedia Thanks boss!
I do not trust what Sean Cannell says. This guy hypes stuff like there's no tomorrow. Amazon affiliate commission is nothing for a channel with less than 15,000 subscribers.
Man Sean can talk. So much wisdom, Really enjoyed it really got a lot from it, It was a mind dump.
I wonder what’s going on with my RUclips channel. I used to get views but now low views and low impressions.

So Sean It sounds like someone you trusted lost your trust.
I think Nolan was heading to go on his own and it was time for him to bloom solo. I hope they still have a relationship (friendship) and collaborate later. I love Think Media and have followed since 2020 and always will, I like Nolan too and follow both

What is your process for getting a sharp video when you do a video call interview with someone you are hosting? Do you get that person to record to their camera, send you the file then sinc the audio in post?
Click bait. Smh
Just out of curiosity what was clickbait? The title fits, the thumbnail fits. Sure it triggers emotion and curiosity, but it's still in line with the convo. Were you expecting something different? Genuine question.
@@raffitimedia It's an Interview with Sean, Just that, Not about Nolan or Omar. This interview was not a challenge.
Where is the video about the channel makers?.. I don't see it on this channel
What was ad mageddon? I don't think I've heard of that one.
Put it in search box
Great video
How do you record these podcasts?
It looks like he has the guest record locally and send him the video because theres no way to record that quality over a streaming service.
What is he complaining about? His views went down by 60%! That’s significant… You’re selling the idea of traffic, we’re selling products. Don’t confuse yourself, what you’re selling isn’t a product, it’s an idea. if I sell something that doesn’t work, they are returning it and I have to give them a refund. If you sell something that doesn’t work, it’s probably my fault or people went back to work. What are you complaining about? it’s pretty easy to talk like that when you’re home or family isn’t at risk.
Both these guys are great, however, I'm not sure if it's the editing or what but it seems like Sean is not even finishing sentences at one point and the his words are just strung together
