As a regular Ramsey viewer, I can say that these strategies are working. I love that I can click a link to the full video from the short--so many channels don't take advantage of this option and lose me as a viewer. Even though I'm interested in the topic, I don't have time to search around their channel for the full video. I'm a big fan of the clips as well--5-7 minutes is good for a break, but I don't usually have time to listen/watch an hour plus video. This was great, Sean! I learned a lot.

Also, I'm wondering about when he says full length video does he mean the full length highlight video. Because you're asking a lot of a viewer to try to get them to watch an hour long video after they just watched a 60 second short.

The trend is your friend! On my channel, I produce a lot of DIY remodeling, and high-profile engineering failure videos, but I also used my investigative skills on several videos covering the Donald Trump shooting. 3 of my videos have gotten over 2 million views, and I have gained 50,000 new subscribers in the last 2 weeks with these 9 videos due to the hot trending desire for more info on the Trump shooting. I now have 540,000 subs on RUclips.
Going faceless is recently working really great on my second channel. I mean, I am just small content creator and I work really hard (I am also using a little bit of Famester, but I think that is a necessity nowadays). I just give all my videos small initial boost, and that caused them to spread literally everywhere, bringing more and more organic views day after day.
I'm going to need to watch this twice and take notes. I've been struggling to figure out how to integrate shorts, and have seen some of the same issues with momentum you mentioned around 16:30 or so. Lot of good stuff here, title doesn't lie.
Posting every day is what catapulted me from 47K subs to 118K in the last 4 months, but you better enjoy what you’re posting to avoid getting burned out.
26:47 is a very interesting point. I have a hard time with titles and thumbnails. Question: is it better to avoid using trending songs on the shorts? I get subscribers from shorts but I’m still at 100 watch hours because they don’t come back.
I posted 6 shorts a day for a month. Even for just reactionary/joke content remixing other shorts, it was non-stop. I lowered it to three now, but trying to do alot more editing and stuff like that. A VERY steep learning curve, but I'm definitely not bored. (And also not having a problem loosing weight lol) I see it as a great opportunity to learn content creation as a whole. As I'm really new to it, but it's certainly a journey :) thank you for doing this deep dive! So much great information!
Dave & the other personifies have great videos! All that money that Dave Ramsey is making and he can't afford (i.g. won't spend money) to put moderators in their RUclips videos. So, many trolls in there that is grates on your nerves.
I’ve got a question! When you say RUclips shorts are supposed to pique your audience’s interest and channel them to long form content, is it advisable to say “check out the rest in my full RUclips video?” Or would that be considered click bait?
I like and respect the strategy, BUT SO MANY Ramsey shorts Do NOT link to the video they came from. Many times Dave has a different shirt or is not wearing headphones like in the short. So get the intern running the shorts channel to walk the walk or get walking, it is very annoying. Many times I skip over the shorts for channels that I know don’t link correctly…
When creating shorts from content do you re-record them or do you use clips from the long form? Long form is filmed horizontal, shorts are vertical. How do you do that? Thank you!
