I like that Gerald is the locking type so he doesn´t become undone.
“Sandwiched between two other embargoes….”
Me: *laughs in A7IV*
And the sony a7c ii
100% you got this right
Sony 70-200ii
That's exactly what I said.
this is one of few comments he didn’t like.. we know why ;)
When Gerald makes a mostly unscripted review video, and it's still one of the most informative and detailed videos on RUclips.
I like the short type overview of the gear, straight to the point and still very informal. Thanks
Rock on, Gerald. You said a quick one, and made a 14min video packed with great information. Love it.
you showing the actual power of the light in your office was the most valuable thing i've seen in any review about these lights, as a beginner its hard to get a feel for just a pure lumens number. So thanks a lot for that, now i know this will be sufficient for what i need it for!
The thumbnail gives an amazing sense of the new direction the channel is taking and I'm here for it.
Darn you - I didn't realize I needed this until your video! I just ordered the P60C RGB on your BH link - perfect for my livestream lighting, thanks Gerald!
Been thinking of upgrading to those as well. Like, I got two light bulbs that cover me pretty well but these, combined with the MC-11s I got for photography, will make the setup a little nicer, tidier and better to control in my opinion!
This is a delightfully enlightening review with pretty much the best thumbnail yet 💡
Looks amazing! Thanks for taking the time to give us your thoughts on these!
That thumb, though 😂😂 Love the subtle comic lean-in
Sup Brad.
I’m gonna break the checkmark train lol

A great review. Articulate, thorough, easy and enjoyable to watch. Bravo!
Loving the new video style! is good to see you trying new things. no worries, we will always support you!
Gosh darn, you are so thorough and I love it. Thanks for another great video! I mean you just nailed it. I get that it probably get boring just doing informative reviews all the time but you are just so good at it. Thanks again.
You are a fine soul there, Gerald... wishing you even more success with your exemplary channel, bruh.
I have two on preorder from B&H, via your link. Aputure gear scratches my itch every time.
Was actually looking for some kind of light that's easy to move when filming documentary stuff in woodshops and such. Definitely gonna get myself a 60x. Awesome content, as always!
Yeah I had a look at tomorrow’s embargoed product. Looks amazing. Also can’t wait for these lights.
This was one of your best videos yet. Great job Gerald!
a little classic Gerald content to soothe the soul
This literally couldn't have been more helpful. Thanks for this! Now to decide between the Amaran and the Elgato *face palm*
Thanks @geraldundone, I bought 3 P60C's for my main lighting kit. Just the light setup I have been looking for.
The thumbnail is hilarious..loving the new approach with the videos. Appreciated
What I really appreciate, is that you're still only reviewing real products that you have in your hands to use, while so many others are yapping about speculations of what the new Mac Pro laptops were going to be, and now speculating about how they're going to work, even though the Apple Store itself (Berkeley's 4th Street Store, in my case) doesn't even have any yet. Keep keeping it real, Gerald! ✌️
was about to pull the trigger on the aputure 200x but after seeing i can put my sony NPF battaries on this thing THATS gonna be my go too just in the nick of time you come through for us Gerald thanks!
It’s lit. Bought the apurture 300d Mii! Absolutely love the quality of their lights as well! 💯✔️🔥
Can't wait until they launch the P90X subscription plan 😂
Damn haven't heard that name in a whilllleeee
I cut out a joke about this in my video and now I regret it

They look very nice. On my wishlist. Thanks, Gerald.
This format of video is fun. And still very informative.
that thumbnail enjoyment at the end of this made everything worth it hahaha
Perfect review as usual Gerald! Thank you!
I've been guilty in the past of having to rig cables with crimps to the bricks, only for the damned AC plugs to loosen over time and lose purchase to the light on a production. Fun times.
I've had to scrimp on any number of project budgets, i.e once purchased some extra Neewer lights. Those particular panel lights did save me a few times (once when a skypanel pulled a Denis Leary smoking session on us...) ...at least at first (until the AC plug wanted a divorce with the panel). For a project I'm now working on (some rather moody, dark material), these Amaran c60s could be a real score given a 3 light set would cost me less than half the cost of one of our Novas.
i still have 3 of the originals, they lasted me 6 years so might have to get a couple of these!
I like how you approve numbers!
to be honest, you could make these even weirder and I wouldn't be upset one bid. Embrace it my friend. That ending was amazing. The whip zooms. Loved it all. Super hyped on these lights too.
That thumbnail is everything! 🤪
Man don't listen to haters who might not like your more candid, quick and dirty videos. These are great! Keep it coming Gerald.
Great vid, as always. If I'm looking to buy gear, I check first to see if it's been Undone. Gotta admit, though, I watch you and Pete sometimes just to get my fill of Canadian pronunciations. (As if us south-of-the-border folks have a clue on some words.) Keep up the great work, man!
Looking forward to the A7 IV video on Thursday morning
That thumbnail got the click and stayed for the great information and review. Thanks!
Thanks Gerald
This sound awesome. I'm gonna buy itt.
Great job 👏🏻
I use umbrellas on my Neewer Bi-Color 480 LED lights and they work great. I tried using a Bowens Mount video light, but wasn't any better than what I was using, so I returned that one.
Can’t wait for that A7IV review!
looking forward to your video in 2 days 👀
9:48 Oh wow, off topic, but that footage is looking good at high ISO. I always felt bad for going up that high with artificial light setups - no more.
Those are beautiful. I've been thinking about proper quality lights, the ease of working with the soft box and their power (plus neat user interface) seem really convincing! :)
That was the most chaotic video I’ve seen from Gerald 😂 you’re way to excited for the next item you’re reviewing which I’m sure it’s the Sony IV 😅
Don't care about lights, do care about Gerald. Liked, commented, subscribed :D
cant wait to hear your thoughts on the new DJI Ronin 4D
Thanks for the awesome review. These little lights are amazing. I know you listed the umbrella you use, but the link only goes to a list of umbrellas on B&H and Amazon. Are you using a ProFoto? Which size? Thanks man!
Thanks for the breakdown! A little bit of exposure lol
bruh earlier than aputure livestream! haha!
I posted when they told me to.

Thumbnail is awsome 🤣😂😂😂😂
Thumbnail win!
I think I need this.
Great vid! Please do a file management video
Good job Gerald... Keep doing what you do! Lol
Gerald great video, when’s the next vlog? ;)
I could see this being a good starter light for someone who doesn’t have one or would you buy a neweer or something cheaper for a first light? Thx.
Sooner than Aputure, thanks! 😜
Lindsey on the 24-70 GM mkII whoops!
Can you review and compare the new Amaran Cob point source light with the Amaran 100/200 d/x ? When you’re able to.
Lindsay on the zoom! :D
Just bought GVM edge light 15" for $120 with 4 free NPF batteries.
When you here about Gerald short review just on the go and find yourself in the middle of color accuracy test and say wait a minute )
Love the thumbnail lol
Never clicked on a video that fast
The price is insanely great for a light like that. Might have to replace my Ikans
Here's to one of the embargos lifted being the DJI Action 2! I'd love to get a more professional view on it. 😃👍
quick video is fine!

@Gerald Undone That was an amazing review. You have a great way of expressing the technical side in an easy to understand way. I just purchased one of the P 60 C lights. Besides the frustrations that I have trying to attach the soft box, I really like it. It definitely seems brighter than I expected, sometimes a bit too bright. I’m doing single person. Interviews with doctors in a hospital, do you have any tips on how I can make this like more pleasing?
On the minimum brightness, do you have eye strain when you are watching directly to this light? (I would like to purchase this light, for game streaming and choose between Elgato Key Light and this amaran P60c)
@@PlayGameToday I returned it. Good light but just too bright for me, even turned down.
@@mitchellglick8737 hum weird. Maybe you dont know how to use a light. It can’t be too bright lol
The market for panels like this is already saturated, although I'm glad Aputure finally got in the game. Now, let's get that price more reasonable.
one of my biggest complaints with the 60x is that it is very unstable over battery power. Says you have 30 minutes, then shuts off two minutes later. Turn it back on and says you have 20 minutes remaining, then shuts off again after 5. Caused a bit of embarrassment on a client shoot. Hopefully they've improved that in the P60 series.
*looks at thumbnail*
Gerald is...... coming undone.
Can you please make a video of Tiffen vs Schneider tru-match variable nd mk ii filter in these settings Shutter 1/50 with f1.4 or 1.8 at ISO 800 and use the minimun to maximum density of the Vnd filter ? I searched alot but there is not a single proper video of Schneider anyone made on any platform and I’m really looking forward for your comparison video.
Firstly you couldn't pay me to hold that light under my chin like you did! :) Kudos! But seriously, I'm looking for a simple lighting set up for a very small windowless art studio (producing small paintings as well). I'm told by pro artists that 5000K temp., high CRI above 90 and 1500 to 2000 Lux on artwork are the goals. My Q.s are can I get away with one of these lamps (the P60x) only? Can I use either the supplied soft box or umbrella or (?) reflecting panel to diffuse the light and reduce shadows and still achieve 1500 to 2000 Lux? Or if too much Lux will just dimming solve that problem? I may either mount it with a C-clamp table light stand because floor stands are just too bulky for my room. I also considered the Amaran Cob 60x with some kind of diffuser though it seems more of a spot. Advice welcome as artist's just don't get into as much detail! thanks!
Dang i need 2 of the p60c's
For context, I looked up the Photometrics of Arri’s skypanel s30c (14” x 12”, 200W, RGB). It said 240lx at 5m, so, inverse square law (1/5 distance = 25x the light) 240x25= 6000lx at 1m...holy cow!
The p60x is nearly matching the s30c in lux at 5600k! And that’s a $350 fixture compared to a $4,760 fixture!
The smaller size won’t be as soft, 165sq in vs 90 sq in (55% the size) but it’s still an incredible achievement for the price.
Great job Aputure
Both of mine are delivering 4000lux at 1m, 5600k. Same thing with the other 14 units at the store I bought it from (they've also tested and got the same results as I did). Aputure's been no help to solve it.
Gerald getting cheeky for click through rate
"This one's heavier in the hand than the X".... Same here, brother. Same here.
I did the same thing you did and spent more time with the X and then I realized the C is awesome.
The C is insane!
@@dslrvideoshooter it's SO GOOD
Ah, seeing you here warms my soul!
can you please tell me where i can buy this black shelf or stand that is shown left and right in your background? Looks very nice, I've been looking for this for a long time
This wasn't a deep test but I will complete with an comment for others The better tripod attachment in metal is still nor so good for use. Nobs loocking each other up and moor the hole for the umbrella is in wrong position. My recomendation witch then unfortunally cost extra is the Manfrotto 026 Swivel Umbrella Adapter. That works perfect.
We can’t do better for the travelling i think. The size is amazing
Can you compare it to old elgato key light and air as well as to godox es45. Your opinion what is the best in case of light quality!
just a heads up: the links send to different products.Maybe it's because i'm from Europe, but it never was a problem on other videos, i just thought i mention it in case it is not just my problem. great review as usual.
Same and I’m in the US
Could I ask how you would consider these to the elgato key light?
Ohhhh disappointment, I really thought Aputure was making tanning lights. Still a very good video.
Can you please make a best value for money versatile lights ?
So…. When are you dropping the a74 review?
Is there a way to set the "base" kelvin of the light, e.g desaturating to 0% is 3200k or switchable to 5600k etc?
Personally I’m waiting for the P90X that doubles as a light and workout DVD
Like for the cover alone haha
You get a like for being a dork at the end haha. But you've also convinced me that I need these...
"Hi, I'm Gerald Undone, and I put rear ported monitors against a wall. On purpose."
Just playing, brah. Love your vids!
The thumbnail! 😂😂😂
I really wish I knew an easy way to connect 2-3 of these and control/power them as if they were one light. I like the idea of having 4-6 of these and choosing to combine them for a more powerful light or use them individually as needed. 2-3 of these connected together is nearly a P300, and the price wouldn't be too far off either
Can’t you just rig them next to each other and control them together in one scene in Sidus Link?
@@samvdheijden i’m positive there are ways to do it, it’s just a matter of how many headaches it adds. the easier it is to connect and mount the lights as if they were one, the easier it would be to, say, make and mount a DIY 2-panel soft box and grid. there’s also the matter of power - it would be really useful on a product like this to be able to daisy chain power from one panel to another so you could power a whole array of them via one power supply or V-mount battery.
And before anyone says it I know that’s not how these were designed to be used and that’s fine. I just always love the idea of a swiss army tool in filmmaking. The less gear i have to haul around, the more ways there are to use any one tool, the less any given tool gets in the way of me making something cool - the better. Modular light panels are an unexplored market IMO, and it’s very possible that’s for good reason. maybe it’s too expensive, too complicated, not enough would sell, etc. But the idea is extremely appealing to me
What is the main difference between the 60d and the p60? Why would i choose one over the other, im going both photo and video 50/50
the Amaran D-Tap Power cable (2-Pin) is not available... can i cut the main power cable and ad d-tap plug (m/f) in order to use a V-mount battery ?
Hi would u know when these will be released??
