Yes I know... The lav audio is pretty terrible in this video. Had some really strange mic issues that I'm sorting today. Probably doesn't help that I'm cutting from a $2000 audio setup to a $250 one ha!
"Well hello"
@@omLuan GENERAL KENOBI
@@itsaaronmiller you are a bold one
I am on an old computer and its not an issue.
You planning to modernize your RUclips name in the near future?
That background and light combo is the ultimate green screen.... Don't even need to worry about wrinkles
Serious question here:
If you can avoid green light spilling on you, does it ACTUALLY work? Is the light soft enough, so you won't have any hotspots and don't get problems to key?
@@Julian-zd9kx yes, it's how some weather studios do it.... Grey back drop and green light on it.
@@RandomlySet cool stuff! Never heard of that before!
Thank you for your explanations :)
@@RandomlySet are you referring to retroreflective material when you say ‘grey’. In that case you need the green light on a ring light around the lens. I’ve used this a lot; it’s not a great solution in many setups but excellent in a few.
@@Julian-zd9kx no major problems if the keyed are is bright enough, but another great option is to use this panel to light the screen but set the color to a neon green or so (need to see on camera the correct hue) an you will have better time keying after as well
I really appreciate you including the cameras settings as a way to demonstrate output with different diffusion setups.
Thanks! I often forget while editing, but it really does help everyone understand what is happening with camera exposure levels.
That attention to detail matters.
Same here!
Thank you Caleb for including the intensity % of the light when doing mock setups. I find it very helpful, instead of simply listing the lux output of a light. Especially once you start adding modifiers, seeing how much you have to increase the intensity knob really helps because then I can sort of estimate how much battery they'd end up using in a certain configuration, or if the fan kicks in, etc
(I know with these lights specifically the fan is very quiet, but some other lights can get loud so it's helpful to include that % value when reviewing a product and doing mock setups)
Thank you so much for this review! I have been struggling to find an RGB light setup that could fill a background without taking up much space (as I film and live in a small one bedroom apartment). I was searching for days for a setup and was almost about to pull the trigger on a two light RGB system when I saw your video and was blown away by the results you showed. I just ordered the light last night and will be getting it this weekend. I can't wait to see what this little powerhouse is capable of!
I knew it was going to be the p60c, I caught the premier and this looks fabulous. Thank you for sharing.
That colored background setup was just so solid it looked like you used a cloth backdrop! Haha. Really cool showing us all those, Caleb! Great vid as always
After some additional research I find that I’ll be using these lights for my streaming podcast your videos are always most helpful specially this one I hope you’re having a great day
Honestly, it's hard for me to focus on the content when I'm so amazed by the lighting/setup you have going on around you. Everything you do always looks so good!
Aw thanks Jairus!!!
I was already leaning toward buying a couple of these, and you've pretty much confirmed it. I use my Luxli Cellos all the time, but these have way more punch for the same cost and I need to start moving into the Aputure ecosystem anyhow.
I'm glad for the comparison to the Nova light. It was the first thing I thought when this light was announced. The p60c is amazing value for the price!
Thanks Tyrone!
@@dslrvideoshooter How would you compare it and the Nova to the Godox LD150RS...price point is right between those two.
Yeah this light is awesome! Thanks for sharing. I was thinking of getting a couple but now I’m totally sold
Hello from London. Superb video sir! Just purchased a 60C looking forward to using it, I now feel a bit more equipped to get more out of it thanks to your video
I cannot wait to get a couple of these... Thanks for the review!
HELLA great video man! So clear and so simple. Always appreciate your work.
Very professional… I work at a news studio, and this is how all of our lights are configured
Thank you sir for this amazingly produced video. Very nicely covered every topics !
Keep it up ❤️
Damn the price is amazing for an Aputure product of this quality ! Well done !
It slaps.
The output in CCT/HSI is just stupid. Was really not expecting it to shame my P300c!
@@dslrvideoshooter yeah even the X - I started using it as fake sunlight through blinds and it's perfect, more importantly setup and tear down is a BREEZE when I have to shoot at home and I dont want to tear apart our condo. LOL.
Very well done, Caleb. On the wish list. Great value for the $$$. Cheers!
Dude. Your videos continue to amaze and inform. PLEASE keep knocking this content out!
Thank you so much Tim!
When this video first popped up on my watch list, I rolled my eyes and figured this was yet another thing I wanted that I can't have.
Well XMas is coming, its the end of the world. Maybe I should treat myself. And here I am. What a light!
Everytime a question popped into my head... literally your next section answer it :D Great job
Great vid and awesome info! Thank you for this. Its a light that is more than I need, for now...
This is definitely a must have for me 🤓. Thanks alot Caleb for this video
Great detailed and very helpful review. Thank you :)
Another great Video. I preorded 3 of them. Thanks for your review.
Just brought in the P60c I ordered right as I got this videos notification. If I didn't already buy it, this video would've pushed me to anyways haha
Nice! Happy lighting!
Thanks for the review. I am the Neewer type of guy but after this video I just ordered one for now .
Aputure P60C is awesome. I am planning to buy after I watched your review
That is one bright light! That lighting setup must be pretty nice to work with as a one man team.
Great video as always Caleb. Thanks man 😃👍
@2:24 damn that's like a TV studio backdrop - you could make yourself a nice, clean green or bluescreen background with that too!
wow great walk through in the beginning!! Would have loved to see the foam board set up and what that looks like.
THANK YOU!!!!! Amazing review, you give the wright test/info very, very informartive :-)
was waiting for this review - thank you very much. Keep up the good work
Thanks Bean!!!
@@dslrvideoshooter my local distributor just received a few so I put an order in. Now waiting for the 60X/D :)
amazing product really, thanks for the video!
Thanks for the video. The light looks great.
Very helpful video, Caleb. I'm looking for a better portable lighting setup for interviews, and this looks very tempting.
Thanks for sharing, looks like a stellar light for sure! As far as the audio there, if only you had more microphones to choose from... oh wait... 😎
I have this lkight. hands down my favorite light. i love it
Thank you this light looks like a winner
Love the video, I can't wait to try one of these.
I definitely will buy this one. great review, thanks! :)
When you said $350, I was like... Nah.
But then I kept watching and I was blown away
I agree that the P60C is probably the best as a single unit. I have two of the Neewer 660 Pro's and they are probably 80% the way there, but at only like 1/4th the cost, I think they win in price vs performance. My issue with the 660 is that it does not go DIM enough, when I want even more output I go for a COB light. The real star of the show, an item that nobody seems to know about is the Neewer RGB168, its easily my favorite, basically great light out of the box without any additional diffusion, and surprisingly bright given that it has a much lower LED count.
Great review and very informative. Enjoyed watching it....many thanks!
Thanks so much!
awesome review, super informative. thanks!
Looks like a new and better version of the aputure HR672. I love those lights they are so durable and eqsy to use.
Nice review! Thanks.
What an incredible little light, especially the app controls! Can I ask which projector you used for that background?
Your videos always make me spend money
Awesome video! Loved the example using this light to light your background. Just wondered what colour your backdrop is to take advantage of the colour range. I know some colours don’t reflect as much light.
Great video, thanks for sharing.
🤩👌🏻🎥 so good! Thanks for the video! What a light!
Holy speed watching Batman! Fastest first comment yet! Thanks Sam 😃
@@dslrvideoshooter 😂 amazing! 🦇👏🏻😂
This looks very very good !
Thank you for all your videos Caleb. There are awesome, and your voice is soothing! What is your table tripod? It looks sturdy! Thanks!
Great review! I don't know why you say "Party Mood" your reviews are always a party!
Thank you I have a shot next week
Fantastic and very helpful video! In the first lighting test with color, is it against your wall or against a vinyl background material?
It looks like his wall because I was some wall plates on the bottom left.
Great review Always trusted aputure lights
Well, I bought a GVM 850d which has a little less brightness and similar features, no fans or fan noise (aluminum cooling plate). It was normally $279 but they had $50 off coupon on amazon and they offered 1 free softbox and 3 year warranty. For this price you get 2 lights. barn doors, light defuser, 2 light stands, and case, power supply (batteries not included $60 per pair for each light) I think this is a much better buy for budget videographers and photographers. Weight is 2lbs for the light, mounting bracket and barn doors.
That is freakin awesome !!!
Rock Solid Review as always. Apurture always impresses. Using the awesome saturated colors of the light on a background what is the best color that the back wall/set should be.
Always love your reviews, very useful and informative, can't wait for you to review a7iv!
I bet aputure will soon come out with 60c, bowens mount bicolor & rgb light, which one would you prefer? also can you compare them to Godox, GVM and neweer too.
Also since P60c and P60d is their budget line, they don't want to put their Aputure logo too big, instead they put Amaran logo all over it
10:33 we just need SmallRig to make a 4 panel frame with mini VMount bracket, and chimera to make a custom softbox and you'll be looking at a super light, high output, soft / hard key to travel with.
Wowwwwwwww surely best LED light ever no doubt
I did wonder how good this is…. And now I know. 😆👍💪🤘
So I’m just in the market now for a panel light for corporate videos, interviews. Noticing this review is a year old, 1. is it still your highest recommendation? 2. Would you say it’s too harsh unmodified for sitting interviews? That’s what I got from you here. Thanks! Been following you for years, even if I don’t see everything you publish. You’re the best.
Thank you so much!
Thank you for watching!
Would love to see comparison videos between rgb panels like this and the Gvm 1500D
Another great vid. Now, I just have to decide between the p60c and the 100x/200x lights.... decision, decisions!
I just bought 2 Neewer 288s and 2 ceiling mounts for AU$300 (for green screen lighting). Very happy.
Niyamai bro Today video good work brother 😊👍
Love it, gonna have to save up for one tho bc im #brokeboi but thats fine lol. Also lovely content as always dude! Thank you so much for all your hard work, awesome videos and amazing info 🤍
Wow! Green screen in an instant!
This is why I wish Aperture made the P300c with removable diffusion.
Nonetheless it's on another level from the P60c.
Thank you so much for the video. So informative and well explained. I am looking for a lighting for beauty tutorials. Do you think that is a good choice for beauty videos?
This is great. That much brightness in rgb mode..! Who'da thunk!?
Hoodie looks super red! Making Target employees everywhere jealous!
You do the best work and is very helpful. Thank you. Can you share what backdrop you used during the lighting test portion (at :45)?
Great review.
Thanks!
I would really love to see a Space Light accessory for the P60c. Granted it is nowhere near as bright as a Nova P300c, but it is still powerful in small spaces for a panel light.
Hey Caleb, thanks for the video I'm about to pick one of these up :) what is the small monopod you're using to mount the light? It looks perfect for what I want to do (RGB lighting behind me for a-roll)
Found the answer here for anyone else wondering! ruclips.net/video/HU8aT7NuBUY/видео.html
Very nice.
Nice Video! Will consider purchasing this in the future. One thing though: Can you please put weights in kilograms as well? We don't use Imperial system in Europe.
Been looking for a compact but powerful light source, and this seems to fit really well for my needs! Thanks so much for the review! What's the stand you've got the panel on for most of the video? The one at 4:00
Great video, what do you use for your projecting
The P60C looks like the panel light we've been waiting for. I recently got a 100d and have used it on a couple major projects so far and it's great. However, another lighting guy has 3 Neewer panels that have come in very handy as they also do every color. They could just be brighter, and that's where this P60C shines. (see what I did there?) This looks like my next light purchase.
Which would you prefer as a stationary key light?
I would think the 100 watt would be brighter and cover more area with the right Modifiers
@@creativegreats6924 - Yes, that is correct, but I already have that base covered with the 100d. I did buy a P60C. I haven't had a project to use it on yet but I have a couple coming up. This light will perform a different role than the 100d (kicker/fill/accent/accent color), while also being able to be a key light in other situations where the 100d is more than needed. And as mentioned in my original post, when colors are desired, this light throws out much more light and color than the cheaper Neewer brand panel lights.
@@mr_red13 - It depends on the needs. Room size, scene, desired look, mood, etc. There are times when the 100d will be too much and this light would fill the need. Also, this light can be used as a kicker/fill/accent/accent color light as well. I did buy one of these and the density of the color can be very intense, if that is what is needed. It is also infinitely variable, so will be incredibly versatile.
@@1001Hobbies how are you liking the p60c?
Ha! The audio sounds fine to me... guess that says something about my audio knowledge. The Aputure MC RGBWW is a great little light as well, for about $90, and works the same way with the Sidus Link app. Amazingly useful for filling with the same (or complementary) colors as well as closeup photography!
True. He's reviewed that before. This seems to me like it's essential just a really large version of it.
I guess that I hadn't been on the Aputure website in a while. I didn't know they had all of these newer lights. I was looking at the P300C earlier, but I see that B&H has a three-light kit for the P60C for about half the price of one P300C.
I want to know how you project images onto your backdrop. That's pretty cool.
Thanks for the info, bought a set of 3 and I love them. What is the little tripod you are using for the light in your video on the table?
Brilliant! Just what I was looking for and they seem to be available here locally too. I have a 2 questions - are these anyway comparable to something like the Godox SL100 behind a softbox? Second, is there a comparable model from Godox or other brands with similar capabilities?
Your voice is really good.
Which gadgets you use for better voice quality in this video?
Is that road mic?
Would a light like this work with your 'Entire RUclips Studio Setup on One Desk' plan, @DSLR Video Shooter ? Or is it too heavy?
Love your work :)
I wanna see the amaran 60x!
mantap
For a small high school studio with a light grid would you suggest the P60c or the 200x? I would prefer a yoke attachment, but the output and flexibility of the new Amaran lights is too good. Is there a yoke option for the P60? Great videos over the new lights!
I really enjoy your videos and have gotten a lot out of them! I’m kind of torn between the aputure and Lume Cube Studio panels? Do you have any thoughts?
