It was hard to compare the light quality of the LED's with your softboxes because the white balance wasn't adjusted to get the same color calibration between the two. If you look at the color of your background it is radically different with the LED's vs the softbox.
Which lights are the best buy to get rolling - VILTROX VL-162T CRI95+, YONGNUO YN 300 II or NEEWER's Bi-Color 660 LED Video Lights??? Thanks for your suggestions in advance!
Would the NEEWER 1200 be a better choice since there is twice as many lights as the 660? Especially for an actual shoot rather than strictly for filming myself
Comparing 660 to 480 I was expecting more focus on the differences going from 480 LEDs to 660 leds provides. This video spends too much time on irrelevant to the title stuff ( version of the back, soft boxes , etc. ) - save that for a specific product review. The title is misleading as a result.
The 480 has the same output as the 660. The 660 should be softer since the LEDs are not as harsh and the light itself is bigger. I picked up the 480s for the portability and price. Thanks for the vid
neewers website says the 480 outs a max of like 3600 lumens but the 660 says it has a max output of like 19k lumens so im not sure they have the same output i would also think the 480 would be softer since its less lumnes
@@postghost6536 I have both lights. 660 is softer due to a bigger source. Both have same output. You won't really notice a difference with either light to be honest. Also idk where neewer gets their specs lol. Find a few video reviews with people with light meters and they will confirm my statements.
@@JamesDBuzzard wow wasnt expecting a reply lol anyways this is pretty informative i will look into it im curious are the 480s and 660s safe for the eyes the onlyy reason im nerding out on the spes so hard is because i wanted to know if their bright enough that regualr use might damage your eyes
@@postghost6536 no you will definitely be good these are not that bright of lights especially when you put a softbox infront of them. I use them in my little RUclips office setup if you want to see an example of them being used. I use the 660 for my key and the 480 for a kicker/ hair light. Definitely not my favorite lights but they get the job done. The biggest thing that sucks about them is the color accuracy which you can kind of see in my videos
Yes actually recently I did pick up some and I do think it does help but as far as the space versus the result I think it's a minimal benefit. If you have the extra space it does help but in general actually I find it's not as necessary
Backstage Income this is my 1st wedding video I ever make ! They said its about 5-6 tables thats mean small wedding in asian culture ! Do you think 2 are enough ? Just for the groom & bride vow vow, giving rong cutting cake ?
Good review but if you do not need the bicolor why are you not going for the daylight temp only lights that will increase your light output in a single light and your soft boxes are not bi color.
They don’t have daylight only I just looked. These are about 1/10th of the price as the higher end ones that do daylight only. I just purchased an extra panel to mount higher and it’s perfect for my RUclips videos. I have 3 total set all the way up both colors and it’s about 4000k so I have my camera set to match.
Always use a set of three lights, key and fills. maybe script it rather than make it up. Leds are way to close, blowing out the hightlights. And the watts thing learn more obout output equivalents, when comparing tubs and leds.
I wanted to write this out too and saw your notes. We want him to do his best (audio too, use izotope rx7 or something similar pulling back from voice isolation algorithms a bit) still I like he did it 100%.
Awesome video bro! Have you tried them in outdoors or big spaces?? I would like to see how much is the range of distance for get good shoots with these lights.
You'll need two 660s or bigger to fill a big space without getting the ISO too high. So if you do two zones, you would put 2 on each end and get 4 lights. I wouldn't say they are mega strong for like a church or anything but enough in a big dinning room or living room. If you go bigger then of course you need more light so having two in each spot can help that.
@@Backstageincome Thanks for the advice, I'm really thinking on get a 3pack of 660s my principal objetive at the moment is to fill a medium stage (20x20 or 30x30 mts). any recomendation on that?
Depends how many zones you need to light. If you just need two zones then you may want to get some of the 960 LED (I believe it's the 960) but I like the flexibility of the 660s since you can add two side by side or even three. Or the great news is if one fries or dies sometime in the future we still have the others that work just fine. Maybe you little more flexibility... Personally I have about four 660s and 3 480s and mixing match periodically depending on the setup. Of course I could have went bigger but I'd rather have lights and different zones or multiple zones rather than one or two big ones in one or two areas
480 or 660 depend on the number of subjects, 660 are not much different from the 480, if you can control th spill the 480, even the 280 are fine as 480s
Depends on the size of the room. And how strong of a light you want in the reception. If you just want subtle dim lighting, Maybe with 8 of them you should be okay because you'll just need to dim them down if you don't want such strong lighting but you'll need them in multiple spots so that's why you might need more lights rather than stronger lights
@@Backstageincome since im on a budget and this is my first wedding film. i just need them to light key areas momentarily. speeches, first dance, cake cutting. i may have to improve with moving the 2 lights around but its better than not having any lighting at all. Thanks for the input.
maan how can u talk about lights and u even didn't make any shadow on ur face or tail light i mean hair light and ur sooo close to the wall , i can gooo more but , anyway thank u for the review hope all the best foor u but those lights are amazing if u know exactly how to use them
comparing Watts of LEDS with Watts of a classical softbox is just totally ridicolous and simply unprofessional - unless your softbox is also power by LEDs, but i dont guess so.
Is it me, or this guy's video is too warm? I don't think this is a good representation of these lights if he can't get his light temp balanced. The audio is bad too. Sounds like he is in a shower.
So why is he not in focus the whole time when he is talking about Photo and Video? Also Sound is bad ..

I have the Neewer 960 bi colour. It's great but rectangle. I can't find a soft box for it

I already have a few softbox lights will the 660 or 480 be enough to light a large green screen 10x 8 foot?

Just wondering if wich of these wld be enough for recording in some distance like a dance video. What do you think?
That would depend on how much lighting you need but sometimes having four of the smaller lights is better than two of the larger lights
@@Backstageincome 4 of which ones for example? I'm thinking about to do performatic TikTok and RUclips videos.
Would you recommend a pair of 660's with a pair of soft boxes they sell seperately for those?
Yeah you can get some soft boxes. You can even make your own or get a generic one. It'll work just fine
Thanks for the video, really helped me make my descision to what LED light I want. Thans a bunch!
You're more than welcome. Thank you for watching
So much information! Incredibly useful! Very glad you got your audio sorted in your recent videos 👍 would've been my only criticism
Thanks, always trying to improve
Without the diffuser light was harsh but it Would have been nice to see you dim the lights instead of using the diffuser to see the difference.
I believe there are softboxes available for the Neewer products, have you tested those as a way to soften the panel light?

Good review. For (basic) HD filming, I can't beat the softbox

Any Sony NPF battery will do

You got it buddy. Thanks for stopping by.
Very helpful thank you, I decided to keep my softboxes instead of switching to LED lights
