    Thank you for Reacting to another Jonathan Young song and YES......Jonathan's "growling dismount" is everything 😅🤘🏼

  • @nereol9165
    @nereol9165 2 года назад +65

    Caleb Hyles called Jon's 'signiture move' extra vowel/distortion at the end of a line "the growling dismount" in one of Jon's streams. So, that's what it's *officially* called now. 😂
    If you'd like to react to something new from Jonathan, pls check out his Pentakill - Motal Reminder cover. There's only one vocal track in most parts of the song (or maybe even all of it) and no pitch correction or autotune at all! Just reverb and compression. So it's a good one to actually react to his vocals 😊

    As a high soprano, it can be very shocking how deep we can go with our voices, I only ever sang in a tender - alto range until I auditioned so they were shocked, to say the least. (If I warm up enough I can even be a pretty convincing bass) ☺

    I love this cover, and Jonathan has, from doing 3 Phantom songs that I know of with Malinda, convinced me I need them to do an entire Metal Phantom album or something to cover all the songs. It's so well arranged and performed and I love their voices together! I adore Phantom of the Opera and would never believe I would want anything more than the original, but I may actually like their version of All I Ask of You better.

    "Tenor range" for women is called contralto, and is my range, such as it is. Which means I can sing along to a large percentage of male vocalists, fine, but not so much with female ones.
    Phantom is ranged from tenor to baritone with some departures, so I have a bit of trouble with the low end. And the top, too, 'cause I don't have much range to speak of, which is a good part of why I'm not a singer. :p

  • @Flirkann
    @Flirkann Год назад +2

    It also doesn't hurt that the main difference between Metal and Classical effectively comes down to the sound the performer wants to produce - in my experience, the underlying techniques and skills are the same, and the artists have had mostly the same training.

    hey Ken, it's been a moment.
    ...but..
    "If there were a better Metal version" ** ...
    How quickly we forget
    YzxcZd3z-78
    lol, It's ok .. we all have had a rough couple years... my brain's aged 20 years in the past 2.
    ** ok, not a perfect quote.. a paraphrase, maybe?
    btw, the mic used by the operatic person (in the video I linked) is a Beyerdynamic DM 969, which is generally noted for handling very 'high gain' situations without feedback oscillation (dynamic capsule w/supercardioid pattern and the backlobe is almost completed damped out in the 969).
    But you'll notice she DOES back off the mic by about 18-24 inches before launching into her full voice. It's like being in a room with a set of bagpipes... 'full blown' does not even come close to describing the SPLs... and yeah, I've had an operatic Eb5 uncorked in my very, very near proximity before... my ears are sill ringing, 40 years later.
    Damn mezzos... always have to show off.
    btw #2 - I'm not an NWA member.. I take no offense if you think Jonathon&Malinda's version is better.
