Always so honored to have you break down my content! This was a special one for many reasons. If you liked this format I have some terrifically fun ones with the insanely talented Brian Hull, but ya Whitney is filthy talented, def check out her other singing work! THANKS FOR SHOWING MY WORK TO YOUR AWESOME COMMUNITY!!! LOVES! ❤️
Please you guys have some tea and talk about music? 🙏
Peter, thanks for all the awesome work you do, it’s amazing, been one of my fave videos for years, and I hope you do more with Whitney in the future!
Just curious, have you heard Geoff Castellucci’s version of “Misty Mountains” and what you thought of it? Hope to see you working with Voiceplay someday! You’re my favorite solo A Cappella singer, and they’re my favorite A Cappella group (though it’s REALLY close with Home Free).
I can't count the number of times I have watched this on both Peter Hollens and Whitney Avalons channels here on RUclips, this is one of my favourite RUclips videos of all time and this reaction with the breakdown of the vocals is so wonderful to watch!
Oh my! I've been hooked on acapella music for many years though Voiceplay, Pentatonix, Home Free and of course you, mr. Peter Hollens. I still don't know how in the world this video could be released in 2017 and I've totally missed it until the technical goddess Elisabeth reacted to it in August 2021. As I said on the original video; this is my favourite Hollens video out there, and I hope to see more of the "filthy talented Whitney Avalon" doing collaborations with you. Thanks for filling my life with music and videos which puts a smile on my face
Totally agree with this. I keep coming back to both of these as well. Always brings a smile!
Oh you should totally react to Hellfire by Jonathan Young if you haven’t yet !
I need this in my life.
Absolutely :) He's giving me hecking goosebumps everytime I listen to him singing that! Though the whole of his latest album, all the Disney villain covers he did and one of my favourites) the Prince of Egypt covers he did with Caleb Hyles (especially "The Plagues" and "All I ever wanted" and "Playing with the big boys") would be on my list of suggestions as well 🥰
@@LunaBianca1805 Don't forget the Bells of Notre Dame! That is probably my favorite.
@@TheSweetieGamer Absolutely!!!
Ooooh definitely! Came here to say the same thing! Hellfire of his duet of the Notre Dame theme song itself!
17:21 That distortion comes from her briefly engaging her ventricular folds. She displays crazy control of her voice in this part of the cover.
What a beast 😲
Peter Hollens' fans *_demanded_* a full cover of 'Hellfire' which he did a while later. Its pretty good. Hard to beat the original but his is probably my second favorite version of the song. He had also done a full version of 'Be Prepared' and, if you liked _this one_ you'll LOVE his "Halloween Movie Medley" He covers most of his incredible range in that video. (not all of it, I've heard him sing bass notes...the guys a freak'n high tenor and he can go lower than ME, I'm a low baritone for petes sake. )
Disney?! Peter?! Elizabeth rocking her own merch?! Looks like a small slice of musical heaven! I would LOVE to see a collaboration between these two!
I wholly support some of Jonathan Young's villain covers, especially his Hellfire! It's such a good rendition
That and his cover of Bells of Norte Dame with Caleb Hyles
@@dutcherbl Agreed! Good suggestion
And you can't forget his Metal Cover of Be Prepared.
Speaking of hellfire, Please react to Lorna Shore’s, To The Hellfire!
Dont forget Johnathan's Ursula
Whitney’s Broadway musical background really shines through in this video
A few people in chat were recommending Jonathan Young's incredible villain covers, which are great. But if you were going to do a react to Jonathan Young, I'd want to recommend 'Jonathan Young & Lauren Babic - "You're Gonna Go Far Kid" (Offspring Cover)'. That way you could also react to Lauren Babic and her awesome vocal talent as well!
Definitely second this one. Jonathan is incredible, and boy ohh boy can Lauren sing... I got chills when I first heard their cover
That sounds interesting
Whitney Avalon is a gem. The PRBs are great fun, of course, but her other work is wonderful as well.
Never heard of Whitney before but her voice sounds like she has some Broadway stage training
I adore Whitney Avalon, and her princess rap battles are so much fun.
I don't think any vocal coach has reacted to Paint and his songs After Ever After, they are super fun Acapella Disney songs that take some really fun turns
Check out Peter’s Halloween medley, his covers of “The Hanging Tree” and “The Dawn Will Come” with his singing Patreon patrons, “Lullaby of Woe” and “Vokul Fen Mah” with Malukah, “Greensleeves” with Tim Foust, and the Hobbit Drinking Song Medley with Hank Green, they’re all fantastic!
Whitney Avalon is amazing, I absolutely love her in everything she's done so far. Outstanding voice, super creative mind, fearless 😃
A pity I can only give one thumb's up on this reply!
This is what I love about Peter. You can watch his videos over and over and see new things by paying attention to various other bits. Also, if you watch enough of Peter's videos, it's a who's-who of talent on RUclips. :)
"Ear candy" is the perfect description of Peter Hollens ❤️
And "Hellfire" still is the best villain song Disney ever made.
A number of groups have covered Disney villains. This is my absolute favorite one. Peter Hollens is simply fantastic and too few people know about him. And too few people give him credit for his vocal range. As usual, I learned a lot from your analysis. This pairing was great--they had great chemistry and seemed to have fun "playing" with each other. This was not only vocally pleasing to listen to, but also fun to watch.
One amazing disney metal cover is Jonathan Young's "Hellfire" from Hunchback of Notre Dame. It is great in showing the Frollo's decent into madness.
13:56 When it zooms out from Mother Gothel with the candle, all the other characters are also in the dark with a light source. A brilliant stroke in a series of brilliant strokes.
A Peter interview is essential!
As everyone else has said you have to react to Jonathan Young's Disney covers. Hellfire and Bells of Notre Dame are outstanding. The sense of foreboding they give is spine tingling
Whitney Avalon recently did a medieval cover of "I need a Hero" together with Hildegard von Blingin’ on her channel and its amazing! would love to see you react to that
Wow! That was fun! I agree- these two really brought the songs to life. I was uncertain about the "Brady Bunch" screen set at first. Breaking the walls to join each other was a hoot. Great way to end a day with a smile. Thanks, Elizabeth, you made the day complete. :)
'Stick with Mama skip the draaaamaaaaa!' makes me giggle every single time!
I would absolutely love to see her react to Jonathan Young's Hellfire cover!! Or even his covers to phantom of the opera with Malinda. Side note: really hoping she does a reaction to Geoff's recent Misty Mountains cover. The low notes are insane and it's the best thing to listen to when you wanna escape to Middle Earth.
You should listen to more Whitney stuff. You will love her signing. Her songs are amazing and the analysis would be so fun. Her singing is so much fun, beautiful and blows me away. She is so versatile.
I've seen you be really impressed by how in one of Peter's song he had over three hundred people sing, so I think you might want to check out *The Longest John's "Wellerman community project", there were 6500 people in the video!*
I love Whitney Avalon this is going to be great!
Whitney is an awesome singer as well as a comic genius! She has that true Broadway charisma and versatility. Recommend her Chicago/Fantastic Beasts mashup to highlight her singing chops! The collab with her and Peter is just magic!
You should check out Peter’s full length versions of “Be Prepared” and “Hellfire.”
Mother Knows Best is a great tune, my wife and I quite often sing that one for no real reason.
You really must do the new Voiceplay/Ashley Diane cover of "If I were a Rich Man /Girl ". It may be their best one yet.
Let me say up front I love Voiceplay. I was unfamiliar with Ashley Diane, but she was fantastic here. But I am a huge Fiddler on the Roof Fan and this was a little too "jazzed up" for me. That is not to say the vocals weren't stellar--they absolutely were. Just would have preferred a more traditional arrangement. Would love to see your reaction to it!
@@janhankins911 it's really a mash up of the Fiddler version and Gwen Stefani's "Rich Girl" version. I'm a huge fan of the original as well.
Totally agree with this! Perhaps my new favorite from Voiceplay and Ashley KILLS this. Yes please!
No it's not. Never heard "my mother told me or "This is Halloween?" "Mean one mr. Gringe?" They are far way better the "rich girl/man" they have a new one to. "Hoist the colours."
Hey this is cool 😎 . Sure is a production of a large scale. Thanks for taking me on this trip enjoyed it very much
Hi Elizabeth, this is my first time watching this video and I loved the performance. Peter and Whitney are two excellent singers, and they were both amazing. I loved that everyone is singing in front of their colorful zoom backgrounds, and then you have Gaston going on a village tour w/ Lefou...Typical. Thank you, Elizabeth!!! 💙
Peter is the highest master of this vignettes style 🔥. He has an amazing bunch of these epic medleys.
One of my very favorites is the Epic Christmas Movie Medley. I hope you analyze it soon! I love the multiple collaborations there, but Ash totally steals the show 💖
Whitney Avalon looked like she had so much fun playing LeFou. ha
When my son showed me this video, I said ..oh my God. Who is he ???? And I dropped my crutches and crawled on the floor and never got up...I've watched this video more times than you could ever imagine and you've pointed out new things to me....and can you send Peter some love right now🍓
Another great analysis! The way you shine a light on the techniques being used really helps to elevate the listening experience, and it’s really exciting to start to understand and identify those techniques as they are bing used while listening. Thanks Elizabeth!
As a Disney fan, you should watch either of Thomas Sanders’ Disney medleys. He’s done a villains medley (friends on the other side) and a princess medley (won’t say I’m in love). All are with his friends and amazing.
On its Gaston! 😂
Whitney has a rich voice with nice integration of her low frequencies in her tone. She's one of my favorite female collaborators with Peter.
You need to interview Peter Hollens! 🙏
Amazing! This opens the door to react to the Disney princess medley, made by his wife, Evynne Hollens. You will love it! 😄
Also, A Star us born (Shallow), made by the couple. Really beautiful!☺
@@geanfreitas0611 And better than the original.
@@AndyB.69 indeed! A real couple with troubles and treasures in real life, can show it better on the video. ☺
Peter Hollens feat. Malukah - Baba Yetu: Masterpiece you should to checkout!!
And another Malukah Masterpiece - The Dragonborn Comes - Skyrim Bard Song and Main Theme Female Cover
Yes I was gonna suggest Baba Yetu myself
Surely someone already mentioned it but Peter did a whole Hellfire song separately and that version is absolutely amazing!
Many seem to recommend Jonathan Young's cover of '"Hellfire", but I would love to see you react to the original, with Tony Jay. The only version I can listen to over and over again. I can see why he got the role as Frollo. Freaking magic. I feel that he seems to be the only one who really got the character, no mention the song.
This medley - all in all - was lovely, though. Well sung and amusing. Mother Knows Best, Poor Unfortunate Souls and Hellfire is absolutely the best villain songs, with the first and the last one being extra powerful because they feel a bit too real.
That was a unique video. Enjoyed it immensely! Thank you, Elizabeth for showing it!
I love Peter and Whitney is wonderful. Thanks for reacting to this one
I'd like to second the suggestions of Hellfire, either Jonathan's or Violet's version, both amazing.
Still hoping you'll get around to Baba Yetu with Peter Hollens & Maluka. Still my favorite song they did.
Thank you for this today! The fist time I saw one of your video's premiere. I love them so much. Grtz from The Netherlands.
My favorite Disney collab. Peter is great and Whitney is awesome! Both deserve more recognition.
I’m in love with how you say “welcome back to the charismatic voice” and how the piano rolls in behind it.

i have a feling you hacked my computer and are analizing my playlist latly, every song iin the past weeks is one I listen to regularly... its so exiting to wait for the next one now, as usual great job
I love your channel, the way you react to great songs and amazing vocal performances actually teaches me about music. I am totally tone deaf but the way you go into details makes me feel I can finally understand why I like the music I like!
I ran across this version of an old song from Costa Rica, I thought you may like it. ruclips.net/video/-avBmPBJIkg/видео.html
Video games? What video games?!
Peter does have a full version of Be Prepared. It's listed as "Ultimate Disney Villains Song" on his channel.
ruclips.net/video/zwp-SLcK09k/видео.html
Can you react to Luis Miguel - La incondicional live? It would mean so much to your hispanic/latino audience! Thanks
This really makes me remind after ever after, from paint. I think it was the first clever arrengment acapella song I ever hearded.
Love this medley, love your break down, but most of all, love your passion and excitement. It was really cool to see you reacting to a video that I enjoyed so much and see you enjoying it too and helping me put into words the things I was hearing. Thank you! 💕
The delight on your face gives me life!! I love watching you react!! Thank you!!
Would love to see you do something from Johnathn Young. His collab with Caleb Hyles on "Its tough to be a God" is amazing
Whitney did a very nice Tribute to Our Favourite Disney Princes - LEIA ( after Disney got LucasFilms she got to be a Disney Princess) based on the Melody of Memories from CATS
Peter Hollens has done a few really good medleys, apart from this one my favorite is definitely his Halloween Medley.
Whitney Avalon has done some amazing stuff. The Good Place Song and a parody of Billie Eilish's Bad Guy are two of my faves. Along with Memory from Cats...but Star Wars style.
You really should do the Lord of the Rings medley.
(Or just that entire album, in general.)
XD
I agree. Peter's Lord of the Rings covers are fabulous. Everything from Misty Mountain to my own personal favorite, The Hobbit Drinking Medley which is just so much fun.
My personal favorit from Peter is the forgtten Hobbit song 'Lament for Thorin' with the amazing Eurielle.
@@AndyB.69 That is a really good one, too, just so sad, though.
I love "In Dreams" the best. I've tried singing that in the shower, but my voice doesn't go that high. XD
@@janhankins911 Yes that's it. But also a fantastic vocal performance.
Whitney avalon playing of the gods is just awesome
Mother Knows Best is one of my favorite villain songs because it doesn't flat out state the villains plan, its a very manipulative song, and idk it just sounds great
A girl after my own heart, I have always cheered on the billions, and wanted them to win. They put so much thought and effort just to have a lucky hero, stumble onto their plans and ruin a perfectly laid plot.
My two favorite youtubers in the same video. Elizabeth and Whitney!
Could you do Peter Hollens & Avi Kaplan - Black is the color of my true love's hair? (please)
The ending of this medley gives me goosbumps EVERY time, it is AMAZING
Jonathan Young has an entire album of villain covers and they're so goooood
I love love love the excitement and joy that you have in these videos. It's contagious, always a treat!
I´d find it thrilling, to see you react to the cover of Dovahkiin by Peter Hollens and afterwards maybe by Malukah or the swedish radio orchestra^^
As Peter is from Oregon, I believe the "Gaston" video was probably shot at Enchanted Forest near Salem, Oregon. The color scheme is correct for the old European village there. Love all of his videos including this one!
Here we goooo!!
I don't know how many times I listened and watched that music video, it's awesome watching you react to it!
I’ve listened to this so many times, yet never gave the background music the attention it deserved. Thank you for expanding my (already high) appreciation of this performance.
I think you would LOVE Peter Hollens and Nick Pitera's Wicked Medley (the ending is different on both of their channels!!!)
Have a safe and fun trip to the UK
Just a sense of joy watching Elizabeth watch and listen :)
Absolutely wonderful to see you break down the vocals like this and I absolutely adore the voices of Peter Hollens and Whitney Avalon singing together like this!
Have you seen the "One man Disnay movie" by Nick Pitera from 10 years ago?
He sings a Medley of Disney songs as both male and female characters. And he does it amazingly.
I was so happy to see you react to Peter's work. He is such a talented singer, but perhaps even more talented producer. I love his work. I wrote to Dimash and offered to try to connect them. I thought it might open new dimensions for Dimash's awesome capabilities.
You really need to do Peter Hollen and Brian Hull doing Dreamworks songs.
Or the sidekicks one
You should react to Nick Pitera's One Man Disney Movie. He's the OG Disney youtube singer.
OG and still one of the most OG lol.
I have watched this Villians medley so many times, it was where I first saw Whitney and Peter and fell in love with their voices. Love it!
Peter has done a lot of these medleys with the multiple frame format, some with guests, some without. Every single one of them is amazing and has brilliant recap-style endings. By the way, Peter has collaborated with Home Free a few times, and if you haven't seen it, I HIGHLY recommend, "I Still Haven't Found What I'm Looking For." Not only is it Home Free and Peter, but it also features a full choir of their patrons who each sent in videos of their parts. You're going to be pausing to music nerd out every 5 seconds. And I'm gonna be completely there with you. ^_^
check out Whitney Avalon doing her own song Flexible for Incredibles 2. Some of her best work!
I've always loved Scar's song.
Also also 9:32 bubbles on the top left lol
Your facial expressions while you listen got me hooked on these videos. I smile along every time and can really feel the enjoyment of interesting vocal work along with you. :D
That was pretty cool & fun!
Thanks for doing this,
It sure was well done & sounded great!
I love the way you have fun while listening and educating us as well
Thank you I suggest it a while ago so surprised and delighted you did this
You could react to Whitney's Poor Unfortunate Souls! She made it a parody with Umbridge from Harry potter singing it, its terrific!
Jafar is my favorite of this selection by them, and in general I wish people would include that reprise as part of the "Disney Villain" package. It isn't a full song on its own so that's why, but I just love it so much.
SLAUGHTER - Fly to the angels, live in 91. Will blow u away I promise
The Disney Villain Medley is one my favorites. Happy to see it reviewed here. It also made me fall in love with Whitney Avalon's voice. Good choice!
I love Whitney's take on Cruella Devill
The transition between Gaston and Lefou and the tower is one of my favorites. So well thought out and well done.
Ok, you need to trust me here. I know that's asking a lot since you don't know me, but I promise (I can say this with absolute certainty) you will love this and really want to work through how this young man does what he does.. only one big reactor has watched this and it got over 150k views but at the time her channel was smaller since it was over 2 years ago.. don't do research because it'll give it away. Just embrace his awesome vocal abilities.
Nick pitera - a whole new world.
Pllllease!!!
That was so delightful!
I love the primacy of storytelling, lyrics, and character in the "musicals" singing style!
Whitney also did a Harry Potter version of all that jazz from Chicago called no maj
That was amazing! Thanks!
