    One of Voctave's best and most emotional for me is still "Mary did you know" featuring the original song writer Mark Lowry. Goosebumps all the time

    • @Starlesslight
      @Starlesslight 2 года назад +7

      Agreed. Glad to see this comment. I think she'd really appreciate this song, and hopefully she'll do it, if not now, maybe for the holiday season. I think all of their Christmas stuff is really good, but Mary Did You Know is the best.

      I said the same thing to her on the live. She responded saying maybe one day do a dual live with Voctave and pentatonix

    • @TheSeeking2know
      @TheSeeking2know 2 года назад +8

      Yes I truly enjoyed that. The searching, almost pleading, add always reverent tone of Mr. Lowry with a rich warm timbre really made that song!
      It was like the perfect voice to express those lyrics. The fact it was done a Cappella was the cherry on top.

    I'm not ashamed to say that even though I'm a big burly manly man, this performance makes me cry every time I watch it. I do feel better to see that it makes you tear up as well. As others have said, their version of Mary did you know is one of the best pieces of music I have ever experienced.

    Hey there smiling eyes - I didn't think I was going to like this, but the wowness factor came to the surface. Beautiful arranging, and voices. The kind of talents that makes a vocal music lover push back tears as the appreciation for the gift you are experiencing flows over the joy of the moment. And then there is you with your gift as well. Such a pleasure. Bravo.

    Lovely reaction FVM! Hearing these Disney Princess songs, one after the other, astonishingly arranged by the incomparable Jamey Ray (he's the one standing just to the left of the 'conductor'), and performed to perfection, can be overwhelming, as you discovered for yourself. (Be assured, many of us shed a few tears along with you.) Voctave is a vocal treasure! The world is such a better place with them in it! More reactions to Voctave please!

    The arrangement is linked by the dreams of the princesses. It proceeds not only chronologically from classic Disney to more modern work, but the dreams of the princesses actually get more mature too. The first two look for the classic dream of a man to come & save them, Ariel dreams of agency for herself, Mulan reflects on what following her dreams may do to others & Pocahontas tells us that actually, it's not even about us. The progression of the voices reflects a progression to adulthood from childhood too. In the end though, the arrangement resolves back to the childish dreams to remind that it's ok to dream sometimes & that we're all just kids deep inside.

    Voctave is, imo, the definition of group vocal insanity. Every single one of them is ridiculously amazing and talented and their voices mesh soooo well for an acapella group of that size. And on top of that, i have had to pleasure of meeting a couple of them and they all seem to be amazing and wonderful human beings on top of ridiculously talented.

    I really appreciate and enjoy your videos. I don’t normally comment, but it would be awesome if you want to check out other acapella groups, I would love to recommend Sjaella. They are a German all female line up and they do some amazing stuff. My favourites of their pieces is Northern Lights, and Kuulin Annen. Northern lights is composed by Ola Gjeilo and frankly the only word I can use to describe is beautiful. Other groups and choirs sing it of course, but theirs is unique in its balance using so few voices. If I could choose only one song to listen to for the rest of my life, this one would be one of the highest on my list. Kuulin Annen is (I believe) a Finnish folk song and the way they use their voices is just wonderful, not just singing but making the sounds of wind and other effects. Even if you don’t use them for a video, I really recommend you check them out, just for you own enjoyment if you find you like them! Thanks so much for your videos and take care!

    Sorry, I'm a little late to the game in assessing this reaction, but as usual you were both informative and entertaining in your review. Voctave is pretty okie dokie, huh!?! Well, if you're looking for a few more suggested Voctave offerings, I recommend Mary, Did You Know featuring Mark Lowry, the original lyricist, Disney Showstoppers, which features several of the men in the group, O Come All Ye Faithful, featuring E J Cardona, one of their fantastic tenors, or Prince of Egypt (recording, not a video) which highlights the group's overall singing excellence. Those suggestions don't even scratch the surface of their catalogue.
    Again, I very much look forward to more of your reactions of Voctave (and while we're talking phenomenal a cappella, please feel free to check out anything from Pentatonix, VoicePlay and Home Free). Laisez les bontemps roulez!!!

    That was a wonderful review of Voctave. You are incredible. Your talent as a singer, performer is amazing. Thank you for this analyzes. May I request a return to Angelina Jordan. It's time to return. She just released her tribute to Elvis by covering his last #1 hit Suspicious Mind in 1969. She made if modern, current and with feeling as you would expect. The video is loaded with symbolism such as the reference to Elvis, Priscilla, Angelina's coming of age with her uncles 2 children Athena, Aurora and her lovely little sister Juliette representing growing up into the young woman Angelina has become. This production was done in part with Angelina (of course) her grandmother and the aid of Republic Records. The setting, the lighting, the marvelous piano playing by Republic Records Studio Director Rod Christie (who has been the musician in several of Angelina's performances. This is a MUST REVIEW.

    It's only someone who can and has sung, one that has made that spiritual connection with music in such a way as to be overwhelmed by the emotional Tsunami that washes over one's self in those extra special moments, it is only one that has known this that can give a reaction to a Voctave song such as this and do it real Justice. Allowing yourself to feel the magic and share THAT with us, that makes for a great reaction! I'd definitely be here for some more Voctave! "Great Movie Medley" or "Mary did you know?" or "Disney Love Medley" would be a few that come to mind.

    Please please please react to "O come all ye faithful"! You've seen the greatness of the female singers in this video, you need to see E.J. absolutely crush a solo part in this song. It really shows that every single singer in this group, male or female, is absolutely outstanding.

    I swear, you are an extension of the music, Fairy Voice Mother.......when I watch you react, it is almost like the music goes thru you and your face reflects the physical attributes of the music......no one else reacts the way you do. You have such an appreciation for the music, and it shows so much. You are my favorite reactor, not to mention your own amazing vocal skills......thank you!

    I love your reaction and your analysis. Voctave along with home free, voice play, pentatonics and even citizen queen all have their own pocket they slip into. Mary did you know by Voctave and the original writer of the song is absolutely breathtaking! I get the same reaction to music that beautiful! Low bass: Kenneth

    I love Voctave so thanks for this. This is one of my favourites of theirs. I would love to see what you make of VoicePlay's Hoist the Colours. Or in fact, pretty much any of their stuff. I love VoicePlay and their flexibility and range. Their sense of humour is great too. They do have some Disney related stuff which I have also enjoyed loads. Can't wait to see you get more into these acapella groups. Thanks for the beautiful reaction.

I would love to see you do Jonathan Young singing Hellfire. It is absolutely the best version of that song I have ever heard.

    Yup, way back when I found your channel, (PTX reaction I think) I wanted you to do Voctave, and now you have, as you said, hitting the big 4.
    Now we can do some spotlights, like Geoff Castellucci, all his stuff is great, but I personally really love "Far over the Misty Mountains"
    Honestly love you reactions, and your break downs of all the performance, so what ever you do next is going to be great.
    Oh just had a new thought. Unleash the Archers, and "Awakening" Brittney Hayes (or "Slays" as fans call her) is a real talent as well.
