That man murdered his housekeeper for 4.3 mill. Make no mistake. I have serious doubts her death was an accident.
💯. Her employer got the policy and paid for it- with intent. There is no way the housekeeper could have paid the premiums- but Murdaugh could. I knew right when the news broke about his wife and son being killed, there was a whole LOT more to this story- especially about Murdaugh. And it was all bad, very bad. My heart is absolutely shattered for her family. To take a mother away from her two young sons- for money- is sick.
The homeowners policy probably paid it. Not a private policy on her.

There’s something fishy about her death. My theory is she was killed for finding a drug stash or overhearing something she wasn’t supposed to.

I grew up with the murdaughs.its been know for years that Gloria found cocaine in pauls laundry.she threatened to tell maggie so paul pushed her down the stairs.
Yeah, I’m from a small town, so I know better than to believe small town gossip. It doesn’t even make sense that a maid would involve herself in something like telling a wife about drugs.

I’m a Southerner, and I’ve grown up around people like this, entitled wealthy people who treat others like dirt. They have lots of power, and they tend to get involved in local government which gives them even more power. The sad thing is there are a few more Murdaugh types out there, but they will never get their due because they don’t get caught. They may not have murdered people, but they are still involved in some really corrupt dealings at the expense of everyone else. So sad what happened to Gloria and her family.
I wonder if they ever resolved that case in South Dakota, where the AG, while driving his car, hit and killed a man walking along the road one night. The AG said he didn't know he had hit a person, even though the impact caused the victim's face to come through his wind shield.

Poor Gloria, she witnessed something she shouldn’t have. Wrong place, wrong time.
Maggie’s sister testified in the Murdaugh murder trial that the family’s dogs weren’t allowed inside the main house due to Buster’s allergies, they stayed on the porch or in kennels …So how did she trip on a dog if they weren’t allowed in the home? 🤔

The attorneys for the insurance company should NOT have dispersed the funds to Alex Murdaugh as the plaintiff's attorney. *They are culpable for mishandling that end of the transaction.* The money should have been placed in escrow and dispersed by guardians ad litem appointed for the minor children. Took more than just Murdaugh to make that crime happen.
I don’t think he was the plaintiffs attorney. There was another lawyer involved with the wrongful death case against Alex, I believe. That lawyer may have have also dealt with the insurance money. Perhaps he just trusted Alex and gave it all to him.
Pure greed from the Murdaughs. All that money, property and control in the count yet they stole from Gloria's sons and watched them lose the house they grew up in. Despicable.

I think the whole case should be reopened and investigated. The posts at the sides of those stairs should have been checked for any kind of fishing line, etc, tied across the steps. I think she was murdered. Don’t forget what AMs reported words to his wife when she was worried about money… you know, before she and his son were murdered. As I remember the quote it was, “I’ll take care of it like I did last time!”…. I think he did.
Who takes out over 4 million in life insurance on their housekeeper?
I assume that he's the one who took out the life insurance on the housekeeper in order to collect after he murdered her, by making her death looked like an accident.
Since he's wealthy and well-connected, the cops would've just taken his word that she felled over the dog, so really not much of an investigation.
He didn’t take a policy out on her. He had his regular home owners policy plus an umbrella policy. Rich people often have umbrella policies to protect them. He had $4 mil policy with Lloyd’s of London
Kicky it was the home policy, but it's unusual for them to pay out such a high amount. Go sheik out Crime Talk's episodes on the subject. Scott Reich is a lawyer, and he has such great insight into the law, and he said that is a very unusual amount to have been payed on someone with her economic expectations, and age. I have a feeling this case will only snowball, as time goes by. I'm betting there is A LOT waiting to be uncovered.

It wasn't life insurance. It was homeowners insurance. Murtaugh had his friend file a claim against his insurance that was eventually settled out of court

Someone made a good point on here that why didn't Gloria say something if it was foul play? She seemed to be speaking in the hospital saying " I love you." Maybe it was accidental. Then he stole that $$ from the boys. Or if it was intentional maybe just maybe he threatened to hurt her family if she said anything . This is like the strangest set of events ever.

This is so terrible! I'm feeling such pain for those two boys (young men).
His son caused a boat accident he was driving and right before he was going to go back to court for killing the girl on the accident. He definitely had people that wanted to come after him. The murder could be caused by the accident and him killing a passenger in his boat.
He probably killed the son being greedy so the family of the girl wouldn’t get any money
Police have said that everyone involved in the boat crash (the survivors and their families) voluntarily submitted DNA and were ruled out.
He treated them like family,alright.

@@barbram8001 a boy was found deceased on the roadway who was found to be affiliated with the murdaugh family. There are plenty of docs about the whole story on youtube.
It’s has to do with the boy being drunk in a boat that crashed into a bridge at night. It resulted in the death of young lady.... that’s just a tid bit of this crazy dramatic story.

I read Gloria fell down 8 steps? Is that true? If so, how can a fall like that cause soooo much damage? Was she hit in the head from behind? On the 911 call Maggie and Paul seemed so disinterested and cold in the call.

Gloria's children have been paid. They got new attorney's and the boys have been made whole. In fact the new settlement was 2 million more; 6 mill instead 4 mill.

The sons tried to get information from their mother while she was in the hospital about what really happened to her, but unfortunately she couldn’t explain due to her injuries. She was alive for 3 months after she fell down the stairs. Watch the 20/20 special on ABC to get more information.

Does anyone remember his son was going through course for a boat accident, he was driving, very drunk, very mean to everyone especially his girlfriend on the boat that night. He crashed it and one of the female passengers were killed in the accident she was only 19. People didn’t like him or that he was getting away with what he did. So it could be related to that. His family has always been well known around where he lives, he called his family to get help that night so that he could get out of it. Also his dad apparently has a hidden drug problem also so it could also be related to the drugs.
The dad has a drug problem for 20 years........
