that is what the saying “the sins of the father will be visited on the children” means
Everyone thinks it means that children are RESPONSIBLE for what their father might do wrong…but it isn’t.
It is that what a father does will have life experience consequences for following generations, the descendants are AFFECTED by the actions.

It’s important to note Alex had millions but stole the money from insurance meant to go to his deceased housekeepers sons. One son was taking care of his disabled brother when their trailer home foreclosed and rendered them homeless while wealthy Alex still picketed all of their money. His alibi also has not checked out during the murder of his wife and son and everyone in his life, including his loved ones, have testified against him. The kids on the boat all testified that Paul hit his girlfriend and drive naked and recklessly out of anger as they begged him to stop. They crashed and Mallory died. This is the most vile family I’ve ever heard of and the scary thing is this power has lingered in the south for generations but the “good ole boys club” is slowly dying.

Then Alex cleaned up the mess and only witness by blasting his own son. I tend to believe that if Alex did it, then he shot both of them. Maggie first with Paul's gun that is now missing, then Paul coming out of the storage room to check what was happening. Or Alex somehow got lucky and left the kennel right before two killers arrived. The latter seems less likely tbh.

I knew a guy in high school who was similar in personality and behavior to the prosecutor’s son. His parents came into large sums of money by selling off land that had been in their family for generations and by renting out small, run down homes in the community. He was arrogant and behaved in ways that screamed, “I’m entitled!” He waved 100 dollar bills around in classes and at school dances and football games. We all lived in a small town in the 1970s when inflation was rampant, so he used his money to impress everyone and to get his way. He married a beautiful, sweet girl right out of high school, but she divorced him a year later due to his drinking, drug use, abusive behavior, etc. Long story short...he ended up broke, living in a broken down mobile home and alone...he’s still a womanizer and still drinks and occasionally takes drugs. He caused much heartache over the years and he was arrested many times...his family will have nothing to do with him.

I live in the Lowcountry and I think this family has been drinking way too much marsh water. And just as a side note, we don't say things the way they're spelled because that would be too easy; Alex Murdaugh is actually pronounced as ALEC MURDOCK. I know, I don't get it either. Just a real deep-fried Southern Gothic novel unfolding before our eyes.

There are those that surely did not ALL have a true reason to assume his involvement beyond, like you said, merely being part of this family/assumptions based solely therein...but it's those that were close enough to him to be called in by state investigators, like the person in the short audio clip, that were scared and reluctant to even speak their name that definitely had me asking, well wait now why did they (the witness/one being questioned) not just rebuke the allegations right away about Buster, even if they had truly believed or even known him to be involved in Stephen's death? The reporting here that there were multiple or many people that acted this way, apprehensive to even speak his name one way or the other, is feeling idk sketchy at best. MAN! The reasons folks do this imo is that they don't want to think for themselves. They just take anything they are told and accept it even when it doesn't make sense. Similar principle as when interviewing a suspect you never give them the chance to deny. Once you make that first leap into doesn't make sense then it's easier and easier to go down that path and make even bigger stretches.
Imo, Buster is the living person suffering the most. I believe him to be different and that's probably part of what saved him from his family and from turning into them. I fully believe he is a victim.

Especially when this pattern of covering is repeated with each generation.

But why was he questioned? Was he questioned as part of a group, i.e., anybody who knew Steven? Or some other reason? And Paul seems like a person with no redeeming characteristics, and yet why did someone kill him and his mother? Was it in fact revenge for the death of the girl on the boat, or was there some other reason? And again, given his other unhinged behavior, it seems quite possible that Alex may have murdered his wife and Paul, but again, why? There seems not to be much information about motives in this case.

Imho, one of the reasons so many of us respect Dr G and his work is his inherent decency, it’s so comforting and inspiring in this troubled world. I think many, if not most of us have lost all faith in those meant to represent, judge and entertain us; where generosity, compassion and honesty is vital, all we get is greed, selfishness and lies. It’s reassuring that so many love this channel and that it’s growing all the time; as well as testament to the incredible quality & Grande work ethic it maybe also shows that regular folks are, for the main part, good, if they’re drawn to a man who is carved out of integrity, intelligence and compassion.😭🖖

As a retired attorney, I'm mesmerized by this case that I am watching live. Midway thru it's clear (but maybe not to the jury) that Alex shot and killed his wife and son. His behavior seems to display remorse for killing the son but nothing for the wife. I was hoping you could watch all the livestreams and discuss Alex Murdaugh with us again. It's becoming clear that Alex stole over $5M dollars from his law firm and his clients over at least a ten year period and that he's now been disbarred. People keep saying that Alex was a kind man who made everyone he talked to feel special, no one thought of him as a thief or a murderer. Alex's mother has advanced dementia needing 24 hour care. A Black woman who cares for her from 6pm to 6am daily was a witness in the trial. Alex made the mistake of giving three recorded statements of his whereabouts and conduct at the time of the murder to police. Much of that has now been proven false. Following the murder, Alex brought a garment to his mother's house. He stayed for around 20 minutes, and went back to the crime scene. Alex told the caretaker to say that he had been there 30 to 40 minutes. This would have given Alex an alibi for the shooting. As the caretaker told the truth on the witness stand she was crying tears were running down her face as she spoke. When asked why she broke down, she said she loved Alex, his wife and son, they had been so kind to her and her two children and Alex loved his family. It was clearly hurting her to be truthful and realize that Alex probably did kill the victims but she just couldn't believe it. You should alsoblisten to the tapes of Alex talking to his remaining son from jail. I think Alex knows he killed Paul and his wife, and he probably killed or arranged the killing of his housekeeper who fell down the stairs (and possibly others), but he doesn't really believe that was real, that there were any consequences to those actions. Like Trump and his lost election. It's also believed that Alex's claim of addiction to opioids was a lie, intended to prove him with an excuse but no one in his daily life had ever seen any symptoms of addiction and you can't maintain normalcy and be a heroin or opioid addict for 20 years. This case presents many mysteries. He killed the housekeeper for money, he defrauded her children out of a $2M insurance settlement. And he killed his wife for money because his homes are in her name and, not knowing about his debts to the law firm, his clients and others, she had refused to allow the sales, she wanted to continue to live in their Edesto beachfront house. Another mystery -- no one knows what he did with the millions he stole. Or why he would always answer his cell phone when he received call even if hexwas in the middle of an important meeting or in mid-conversation with a friend. What kind of personality or mental disorder does Alex have? Narcissism doesn't seem to fit because everyone says about Alex that he can read people very, very well, including their emotions. I hope you can catch up on all of this now when it's all on RUclips and discuss Alex Murdaugh with us again!

I’m in complete agreement regarding the addiction. I think it was a red herring to garner sympathy/time (30 days in rehab). The prison phone calls are fascinating. He’s continuing to try to control everything even whilst locked up. Whenever he speaks to friends/family he ends the call with some type of ‘urgent; do it NOW’ request. I bet EVERYONE hates it when his calls appear on their phone screen. I had him down as a ‘Super-Narc’ but only because It seemed like the only ‘label’ that explained his behavior. It’s clear that he did kill his wife & son with the motive being to once again buy time/garner sympathy/release money from life insurance & Maggies estate.
It’s all so utterly tragic but likewise utterly compelling. One can only hope that the jury aren’t swayed by the defences argument because when all is said & done so much of the evidence puts Alex at the crime scene at the crucial time.
I feel very sorry for those on the sidelines who have been genuinely affected by all this carnage and all of it triggered by a families greed & a long history of never having to be accountable…
And yes; it’s going to make one hell of a movie some day if a little implausible!!!!

I believe he kept his head shaved so his hair could not be tested for drugs. Specifically for lack of drugs. There is no way he had a $50,000 a month oxy addiction. Based on a street value of oxy at $10 to $15 per tablet (local prices) would be about 400 per day. No one can build that kind of tolerance. He would have ODed. So this is a bullshit story. His "woe is me" my addiction made me steal story is just a ploy to garner simpathy. I think his wife was on to his financial irregularities and his sons recklessness was going to bring this to light. How much time did he buy himself? A couple of months? He was forced to resign from the family law firm and the firm had to repay what he stole from their clients to the tune of $3.2 million dollars. They had to change their name from PMPED to Parker Law. The whole family is shady, including his older son Buster who was expelled from law school for cheating.

My couch analysis is that the son was a serial killer. The dad tried to cover it up. Hired a hitman to take them out to get the insurance. He was too late to pay back the embezzlement. So, decided to fake shoot himself to make it look like a person was after all of them. This is going to make a great documentary.

So, at his age and let's say he killed 3, under his belt, he had a lot of time to rack up the body count. But, it looks like the father is the actual serial killer. So, I was wrong.

I’m ever so grateful for all the work and care you put into the content you present everyday. ❤️ I think this case is, by design, a mysterious one. 🤨 There are so many inside jobs and cover-ups with these families, it’s likely we will never know. I think the son was no good to his core and the family and others paid for the creation of that monster.

This entire family was a mess. Such a tangled web of entitlement and abuse of power. From everything I have read, both parents allowed their sons to do anything, with no consequences. I see so many scenarios that could have lead to these murders. Thank you for your insight.

My son works at a store that sells electronics. This 14 year old kid came in the store and attempted to steal some merchandise that was secured by wire. The kid hurt his hands so badly in this pursuit that the store had to call an ambulance because of his injuries. His father wanted the store to press charges. Although I was glad that the kid was ok, I said to my son. "at least he comes from a good family"! Natural consequence, life lessons learned.
