“Just like there is always a bigger fish in the ocean, there is always a bigger narcissist in the world of crime.”
Great line! Enjoyed this analysis
Great comparison! 🤔❤️🇺🇸
Ever heard of a good or nice narcissist?
There IS an endless “supply”
@@jamesparlane9289 an oxymoron
There's always a bigger fish.
Dr Grande, when you started wearing these type of shirts I understood you're a risk taker, willing to experiment. This one truly suits you! 🌹
I do not see any risk to these shirts? He looks great!
@@bthomson never implied Dr Grande didn't look great. The shirts are quite becoming! just out of character to his dry yet insightful delivery 👍
I was just about to say that. The shirt is fire!
@@bthomson well, it’s a bit fem so I guess it could be seen as risky, especially with his normcore demeanor lol
I think the shirts indicate that he is adventurous and an openess to experience.
Dr. Grande has the perfect voice for narrating crime docos.
Um, hold up, why is Dr. Grande absolutely slaying in that gorgeous button down? I’m not even really joking, that is one of the most beautiful shirts I’ve ever seen and it looks so good on him.
This shirt is specifically why I clicked on this video even though its a year old, lol
A professionally trained crime scene investigator making rookie mistakes that anyone who has watched Forensic Files would know to avoid. Thank goodness for stupid criminals undoing themselves.
My husband is a former sheriff's deputy and was a municipal police officer for many years. One of his most common comments is that criminals are mostly a group of very stupid people, and that's a good thing for us all.
It’s a job many can do. Truly.
@@jeanettecook1088 very wise words
Also helped by cocaine confidence.

I love the dry humour you use when discussing these topics. They aren't funny by nature, but they are fascinating and can give us a lot of insight into our own lives and behaviours. Injecting a little levity into the discussion certainly helps to make it a little more palatable. Well done.
When will people learn that if you're going to commit a crime, make sure your cell phone(or the victims)cell phone is FAR away from you, and the crime scene.
When will people just learn NOT to murder other people. Period.
Thanks for the advice Dexter
@@rubenruiz5809 Not a problem. If there's anything else I can do for you, just let me know. I make a hell of a clean room... 😉
With friends like that who needs enemies.
The amounts of money people are willing to murder over baffles me. What are we talking like 35 grand? Seriously? Killing someone over that?
Whoa this inflation hitting hard, I remember killing in the news over a hamburger or new sneakers that long ago.
People get shanked over $10 all the time.
Ashely McArthur: "I am a CSI, I can commit a perfect murder!"
Ashley McArthur: Commits the dumbest murder ever in the history of murders.
Sounds like her overconfidence got her! Lol 🤔❤️🇺🇸
Sounds like the typical ♀ Lol
Cocaine will make you do stupid things. 😅
I will see your Ashley McArthur and raise you a Bryan Kohberger. The moment they think they are the smartest person in the room is the moment they lose their case.
Underestimating others is always a mistake.
I always say that the perfect murder is truly hypothetical, because planning it requires a stability and rationality that murderers simply don't have. You can be smart enough to almost plan it perfectly, but if you're not also grounded enough to see all sides, you'll always miss something. Probably something obvious in hindsight. If you can see everything that well, it'll be clear that murder isn't the ideal solution.
Add to that that even the greatest plan usually gets derailed to some degree by the stress and trauma of committing murder.
Agreed. The smart thing is to not attempt! Killers get sloppy and make mistakes. Even the serial killers get overconfident and well the powers that be catch on. I am grateful for a killers ego. 🤔❤️🇺🇸
Whew, glad I read these comments! I was about to commit the perfect murder, but this really got through to me. I need to remain grounded and see all sides. Thanks everyone -- maybe one day I'll be grounded and have the perfect insight to be able to carry out my perfect murder. Until then, I will do the smart thing and not attempt it. Really appreciate you helping me out with this analysis. As a narcissist it can be tough to not see past my own social ignorance and petty contrivances. Thank god for you people. I'd probably just muck it all up with my darn cellphone anyway. Note to self: Don't bring cellphone to future murder scene.
The perfect murderers never got caught...which is actually a hell of a lot of people. Jack the Ripper. Zodiac. Long Island Serial Killer...West Mesa Grave Digger. Black Dahlia's killer who surely didn't stop with her considering the state of her corpse, Jon Benet Ramsey's killer... Etc etc etc
@@fartkerson Lol well with a name like fartkerson it just had to be good. Lol 🤔❤🇺🇸
No honor amongst thieves…nor narcissists.
You use word play about Ashley wanting Taylor to "buy the farm." For those who don't know, during some wars, if someone was conscripted into military service, they could pay someone to take their place. The terms of the agreement were that if the person was killed in place of the person who was conscripted, the person who paid for him to serve in his place would give his family a portion of land. This is why we have the expression "bought the farm" for someone dying. Our family has two farms, one of which we've had for generations, the other we have had for over 150 years, since my many great uncles paid for it with his life. We never have sold any of that land, to honor the cost of it. Just wanted to share this historical tidbit.
Interesting. Technically it should be won the farm.
Wow. I had no idea. So do they pretend and lie and say they are that person? Or was there a legal way to trade places?
Thank you I found this info very interesting
No honor among thieves.
Another great shirt! This crime is complicated. Greed, so dangerous. Low level narcissism blocking high level N. Something to think about in that! Thank you.
Right? Love that shirt
Life is complicated enough. At least I don't have to worry about anyone of my friends or family having a murder for profit motive in my situation!
@@staceykersting705 you hope!?!?
.I do have a small jar of pennies and a few empty beer cans.
Are those bold flowers on the shirt? Smashing! I would imagine, given all our comments, that your shirts could be consider a business expense on your taxes.
Just a reminder I'm not diagnosing anybody; only speculating what could have happened if I planned a perfect murder, but I can't plan a perfect murder -- you see, things got really busy at work.
Lololol
@@donavonseibert507 thank you!
So funny!
@@leslieleslie6590 hey, thank yo for saying so!
It amazes me how many murderers (even the relatively smart ones) get busted because they:
a) Have a cell phone on them, or
b) Buy their murder supplies at Walmart and other big businesses that have cameras and detailed record of all purchases, or hire the assassin in the parking lot with cameras.
I could have smelled this coming from a thousand miles away!
- A woman steals a lot of money from her ex-husband.
- The woman stashes some of the money away with a "friend" she's only known for 1yr.
- The woman gets murdered by that friend, when when the friend was unwilling to pay it back.

@@Blox117 I didn't get it.
Did you leave out the clueless husband? His interrogation was... weirdly sad.
This writer is Dr. Todd's most ardent fan. The fact that Dr. Todd practices the art of observing without judging is most cool to me. His wonderful & subtle sense of humour eases the solomn circumstances surrounding each course. In short, Dr. Todd is a force, without ever breaking a sweat.
I'm glad that experts, and educated people are now realizing that there is a spectrum of narcissism, and I think, psychopathy. To very low/ normal narcissism (which affords us a certain level of self esteem) to the other end of narcissism into psychopathy.
Yes and these levels of pathology change over time, and can be situational. Someone can show symptoms with one person but not another.
The spectrum in narcissism is obvious as every single person has some level. Ranging from healthy to overbearing.
What most don’t understand though is that there’s an actual disorder (Narcissistic Personality Disorder or NPD) and there actually isn’t much of a spectrum at all at that point. It manifests almost exactly the same way in every individual and there is no cure.
The term narcissist is so widely misused and overused but very few actually know what it truly means.
I’m not sure about psychopathy but imagine it’s much the same. There’s a huge difference between having psychotic traits and being a psychopath. For those that are true psychopaths, I don’t think there would be much of a spectrum at all.
Almost like anything can be anything, and most psychology is not much better than witchcraft
Great shirt! Anyone interested in this case should view the police interview with Ashley's husband. He is such a caring and kind man who truly loved her. Unfortunately, he was completely clueless as to her true nature.
"perfect murder"
[Ashley told the police that the victim took an Uber, which can be looked up in records]
[Ashley deposits checks from Taylor with a forged Signature]
[Ashley drove the victim somewhere else entirely than what she told the police with an active mobile phone]
[Ashley told her friends and her boyfriend of the planned murder]
Sorry, what?!
Also, it's crazy how many people knew of her plans but did nothing... Really makes one believe in humanity...
I am sure Dr. Grande was ironic with that "perfect"

The moral of this story: if you have a friend who is a flaming sociopath, don't entrust them to care for large amounts of money of yours.
Don't trust anyone with your money; even banks/financial institutions need to be researched. It's not even a good idea to tell ppl you have a large amount of money, not even family or spouses unless you need to.
@@ryanfraser167 Well that sentiment would ring true if you think your friends and family are generally untrustworthy.
@@bottlerocket3218 everyone is potentially untrustworthy when it comes to money; there stories of childhood friends killing people to get $10,000 or less, look up Sarah stern. Best advice is keep your finances to yourself, unless you have to tell someone, need to know.
@@ryanfraser167 Yes, there *are* stories of people who do that, they're called sociopaths.
About this specific case - the interrogation videos are truly eerie because the lady does not bat an eye. Zero neuroticism detected even under the most stressful situations. She was also a tiny woman and spent most of the stolen money on her dorky boyfriend. Very strange. I’m very surprised that she didn’t realize how cell phone towers work - she would have got away if it wasn’t for that.
I disagree there was a whole paper trail leading right to ashley
Dorky boyfriend - that was one sexy man
Was thinking the exact same thing about the boyfriend…I mean, what in the actual f*ck was she thinking?!?

Hi Dr Grande ✋ I'm grateful for all your research and the structure you assign to your analysis. This is the nearest to attending a lecture by yourself.
The case of the "Embezzling Lesbian Who Bought the Farm". I had to watch this one a couple of times to keep track of all of the characters and their assorted, sordid crimes. I like the crime cases where the viewer has to think and be led down the path with the facts. Good analysis Dr. Grande.
If, Dr. G.has a new Stylist, he/she deserves a raise! Dr.Grande is looking mighty fancy lately.

On a side note, what a massive number of shirts you own! I didn’t quite realize until I saw them hanging in the closet.😁They are all very tasteful, the one you’re wearing on this video is absolutely gorgeous.🌹
Wow!insane! ..how does it EVER come to this?..and SHE should have known better than absolutely ANYONE that you rarely get away with it!🙄
There are lots of unsolved murders and missing persons whose bodies have never been found. Lots of people get away with it, unfortunately. She should've known better than to blab to her friends about this, use her phone, and the other stupid mistakes (and she should've known better than to muder someone over greed). I agree about that part. She should've known better.

I love that shirt, Todd. It gives me flashbacks of when I used to visit my grandma and those curtains she made.

Hey Doctor Grande! You're insights and humor are unparalleled. Please would you consider analysing the Netflix documentary "Our Father" which is about the medical doctor who used his own specimen to impregnate dozens and dozens of women in a U.S town? Thanks, that’s exactly the story I asked you to do! I have one more request - there’s this former runaway teenager who successfully stole some planes and boats and donated some money to an animal shelter while on the run. He had a billion teenagers horribly in love with him while on the run. He is out of jail now and he was collecting money to freeze his mother because he didn’t want him to die 💔 His name is Colton Harris Moore
I remember that kid. Yeah, it would be fun to hear an analysis plus catch up with what he's up to now.

Yes, he was nicknamed The Barefoot Bandit, wich is also the title of a really good animated movie about him on RUclips i highly recommend.
Hey Dr. Grande! Never thought I would say this, but I’m a fan now! Love your analysis of cases. There is a case that is trending on RUclips and makes my blood boil. This is the case of Louisiana rapist gaining custody of his daughter. John Barnes is the name. Would love to see your video on this case

The whole "concrete didn't match" was a red herring. Cement is an ingredient in concrete and you add the rock and gravel to it. Some bags come with everything included as a pre-mix, but not all.

“Perfect” should have sarcastic quotes around it. I know the actual perfect murders are the ones we never hear about, but Ashley’s was especially ignorant of things like GPS tracking and obvious motive. Aside from being amoral she doesn’t come off as a very bright person.
Still an interesting case, and I feel bad for Taylor - even though she was very naive and not too scrupulous herself, she didn’t deserve her awful death.
It was a grande attempt at clickbait lol

If they are killing, aren’t they psychopaths? Not just narcissi?
Hi Dr. G. Another awesome video! So glad you also cover cases that aren't covered on other channels. This case was really unbelievable to me that for a. small amount of money, someone would be that greedy. They should be donating that to improve health & dental care for everyone no matter their age, background etc. People have this false illusion that just because someone you're aquainted with, or someone in your family is wealthy that this is a reason to take advantage of financially, or murder over drugs, drinking, etc. Any crazy excuse they come up with. I wish nothing but happiness to the victim in this case & RIP. You will be in heaven either above or on earth. I hope the criminals rot in hell. There is no excuse for their behavior! Dr. Grande, always an interesting, informative analysis. Have you considered doing a video about the Charles Starkweather and Caril Fugate murder spree that took place in the '50's?
Criminals are not the sharpest knives in the drawer, usually. They believe they will never be caught. Although that happens sometimes, a lot of times, people are so obvious in their crimes. Ashley proved to be as subtle as Lori Vallow.
