The difference between most people and guys like this murderer is the victim mentality. He was young enough to have lived through a time where members of society recognized the currency of victimhood. Critical thinkers can see victimhood as a trap. This murderer evidently could not and became ensnared by it.

I worked with a guy who could be this guy's emotional twin. In fact, he's the reason I started watching Dr. Grande's videos. I never really knew what a narcissist was before, but the personality and behaviors are shockingly similar. This guy never killed anybody - that I know of - but his stunts are extravagant and strange, and he completely destroys every office he works in. He is regularly transferred every two years or so. Pulling the discrimination card, so to speak, is not mutually exclusive to lgbtq+ people. I guess a rewording of it would be “all these people are self-victimizing but not all of them are lgbtq+”

I feel like this is one of the main issues with victimhood being turned into currency. If you convince yourself that you're a victim then it's easy to be a monster because you feel validated in doing everything. Have any of us ever even met a person who talked about how they were a victim all of the time and was also a good person? ever?
For me someone going on and on about their victimhood is always a red flag for me to GTFO

In 1970 my professor mentor and I were right in the middle of a campus protest. Photos were being taken of me by one of the local "clubs" where, unknown to them, I was actually funneling funds to them behind the scenes, as Chair of the Student Finance. What he said was: "Society has to be careful not to RAISE THE EXPECTATIONS of groups without ALSO telling them of the hard competitive education journey needed to GET UP THERE. He was right. This is the result, over half a century later: entitlement without responsibility.

That’s because people who are TRULY suffering are normally too embarrassed to cry for help since they’d rather help themselves. People who constantly whine want a problem for the sake of validation and attention. True victims don’t want to be victims.

Oh I’m so glad you brought that forward- that getting revenge for Dylan’s bad deed was the excuse to cover (to himself and others, probably) his real motive of purely self centeredness. This was chilling and terrifying. Could you possibly do a video on - how diesone de- escalate a person like this in the office etc? However it does occur to me that that may be the skills if a professional negotiator, and not your field. Plus, I am aware that if you even did give this advice, people might sue you if they tried it and the vulnerable narcissistic attacked them anyways. So. But thank you. I’ve come across this person. I also recall my ears pricking up when, on the tv show Law And Order, one of the characters was referred to as a “grievance collector. . It’s frightening.
