Her husband’s insistence the case be investigated probably saved future victims.
This happens all too often, just not to famous people.
Your right!
Keep your buddy near.
👻 Muhahahaa 👻
Yep
I think cops are quick not to investigate muders and disappearances of the nonfamous, marginal, impoverished and vulnerable and death of people in cop custody.
it happens when you let diversity take over!
I’m thankful to Andrew’s love and respect for his wife and for his persistence.
My therapist told me that grief is love with nowhere to go. If you are in very deep grief, this makes perfect sense.
Your new set doesn't seem off at all. :)
I wonder how many "suicides" are actually suicides. Stories like this make you wonder.
Anthony Bourdain and Jeffrey Epstein
What a tragic death. In regards to Andrew sharing his grief with the public, I think it’s so important for people to tell their stories. We cannot live all the experiences that are out there, but we can learn from others through their pain and challenges. In addition, someone in the same situation may find comfort in the shared experience.
Thank you for the thoughtful analysis, Dr. Grande!❤
Your new studio is lovely and so cozy.💙
Not only was she in Waitress, she wrote it. It was released in theaters after her death.
And her daughter is the child we are at the end of the film. I love that movie…. I imagine she would have written more brilliant stories if she’d never crossed paths with Diego.
She was also the director of the movie
@@almorar4094 And then it became a Broadway musical.
I cried my eyes out when I learned of her murder. Her movie "Waitress" is marvelous. She was wonderful in it. Her little girl was in it too at the very end. oh my. So so tragic the whole thing. Every time I watch her movie I sob at the end because of all this. Thank you, Dr. Grande, for doing this episode on Adrienne
I remember watching Waitress with my mom, she loved that movie, and was so heartbroken to hear that she died. Such a sweet, fun movie. It's so sad. (Also, I'm glad the cacti are still in the background). Thanks Dr. Grande. Poor girl.
Omg me and my mom loved that movie too❤😥❤😥
She didn't" die" she was murdered by someone who trespassed into this country and was allowed to stay here illegally.
Sorry, she didn't die. She was murdered.
Thanks for your work Dr. Grande. These cases can be awfully horrific and sad. Your insight helps.
Hello Dr. Grande, Congratulations on the move! Hope your new home is full of joy. Look forward to the new studio. Take it easy and get loads of rest.
Oh! He moved?! That explains the background change.
I have seen the movie “Waitress” and I loved it. Adrienne Shelley’s real life daughter played the title character’s daughter at the end of the movie. Very sad that Adrienne was murdered and her daughter has had to grow up without her mother. On another note, your cacti look like they’re feeling right at home in your new studio.❤️
I don't buy that he wanted to steal her purse. That's the worst plan ever to steal a purse. He wanted to harm her since the beginning.
He most definitely did, would have probably killed again if not caught. I just wouldn't make it about his immigration status. Murder for thrills and traveling without a visa aren't really offenses that tend to go hand in hand, tho I'm not surprised this case was used politically.
S/A was his objective, but she fought too hard.
I agree. I suspect SA motive also. It could be that there was some kind of altercation also...But either way my money is on attempted SA, whatever his psycho logic actually was.
One things for certain. He's not the brightest bulb on the (illegal alien) tree.
@@supercoolyguy😊
Dr Grande, your empathy for the victim and survivors of this tragedy is very admirable. I thank you.
Soft blue lighting. Something I didn't know I needed.
This video was history in the making. It was the day that (in the new thumbnail format), Dr. Grande finally took the attention off himself and began his new character arc as a less-narcissistic person. Bravo 👏
Good morning Dr Grande. The police were inept in this case. Thank goodness for the husband intelligence for carrying on with his knowledge of his wife. I'm so pleased they caught the perpetrator. My sympathy goes too the husband, daughter and loved ones. I love your analysis. Thank you Dr Grande. Brilliant analysis, tragic outcome and informative topic.
Love the new office, but my eyes keep going to blank wall , a photo of Bella the beautiful and Max the gorgeous would be appealing.
Terribly sad story. I'm with you doc, not about robbery. Thanks for the case analysis.
I respect the new - familiar plant arrangement but I'm still emotionally attached to the brick wall from past videos.
Great analysis as always, thank you dr.Grande 👌
Your satire helps to lift the weight of these stories that are usually very heavy thank you nice new studio
Love your new digs! Ambient lights are nice.
I can see the cacti so much better! Thanks for all the great stories!
Such a needless loss, hope this man is in fact transported back to his country unpon release and hope that they actually check the people entering our country for violent crimes although I doubt it. Very sad for her family members.
He'll just walk back in. When he does you can look forward to supporting him, not just in prison, but in his old age.
While his kids wander the streets around yours.
Did he have a history of violence before he came here?
Adrienne Shelly appeared in a Season 10 episode of Law & Order ("High & Low"), then her murder was the basis for a Season 17 Law & Order episode ("Melting Pot").
Thank you Dr Grande for another great video! I’m fascinated by the case of Virginia Tech students David Eisenhauer and Natalie Keepers, who were exceedingly bright and talented freshmen. They murdered 13 year old Nicole Lovell after luring her out of her family’s Blacksburg, Va apartment. How does a super star 18 y.o. student and athlete like Eisenhauer come to kill a young girl? And get a friend to help? Such a bizarre, tragic and fascinating case. Thank you!
I’m really liking studio 4!! Congratulations🎉 on the new house and thank you for all of the informative and humorous videos. I look forward to seeing you every day.
You're 100% correct Dr. Grande - like always.
i remember when i first heard about her death and the first reports coming out that it was a possible suicide and i could not believe it
that her murderer will only serve 25 years makes me sick
what is amazing is that her daughter sophie looks and sounds exactly like her
i’ve asked this before but i’ll give it another shot, can you cover the case of xavier dupont de ligonnes? it’s my favorite unsolved mysteries episode
Me too, but i think Dr Grande prefers cases from the USA and Australia. I noticed very few of the cases he covers are from Europe. Maybe it’s just my impression.
I love the new background, Dr. Grande!!! Hope you had a safe and easy move into your new home! ❤
I wonder how often a serial killer is caught and arrested as a result of their first murder. They don't actually become a serial killed by the definition, if they had not been caught the would have killed again.
@@cht2162 he means someone who has all the intention of becoming a serial killer. It very well could have been the case with this person, but he was caught.
I loved her in 'The Unbelievable Truth'. This story of hers scarred me about humans forever.
Me too, what a great movie!! I wonder if one can find it nowadays.
Thanks for covering this story. I too was attacked by strangulation and nearly killed by what the authorities told me was “a visa overstayer.” At the time he attacked me, he was actually on the lamb for the murder of another girl around my same age. I have a feeling he’s offended more than just twice, and it haunts me day and night. I feel sad for the victims of these types of crimes, and for the families who have to suffer the aftermath. It’s probably more common than we think.
Thank you doctor Grundy really Express the emotional angle of this case and I really appreciate it!!! I have 2 daughters around 40 and I can't even imagine the pain of losing them.
Yay, new background! The little cacti are adorable.
In a way, I like that they focused on the loss and not just on the person who murdered her. People need that reminder that even though he's behind bars now, it doesn't stop the hurt.
Dr grande, I love this vibe of the set up here. It is clean, Minimal and I find it calming esp with what seems like natural lighting. These are things I love when hearing any story told over video; as far as RUclips goes, people really go over the top on their whole set whether green screened or not, and it can turn me away from hearing anything when I'm being overstimulated whilst learning about such a horrific event...it's easier to digest just the facts and story with no other distraction the way you curate your content!
As far as the story, wtf tho? 😮 this guy brutally attacked a stranger... Bc he wanted to originally rob someone? Menace. don't let him out.
Dr. G is never off his game. Legendary
I've never heard of the case. What a wonderful husband and father, and thank you, Dr. Grande, for the excellent analysis of this case.
Thank you Dr. Grande! For some reason whenever I see Adrienne’s lovely and wise daughter I think of “Dear Theodosia” from Hamilton, and it breaks my heart. So much tragedy in Adrienne’s life - her daughter deserved to have a mother. I think Adrienne was fighting for her daughter as well as for herself when that creep murdered her.
She was lovely. I love "off-Broadway" shows. They can be incredibly imaginative. The best ever was The Long Christmas Ride Home. Blew me away with the different types of staging including puppetry. The story was so incredibly sad. Great show.
Thanks for the upload. Glad the husband didn't give up.
Thanks for covering this awful story. In addition to her family it was a serious loss for the indie film community. I was really glad to hear item #3 in your analysis. In many was it's the most unusual or striking aspect of this tragedy. I wonder if law enforcement considers it a case study or if any policy changes were made as a result. Thanks again for weighing in on this one.
Your sarcastic humor, marvelous analysis, and brilliant mind makes you uniquely fantastic, Dr!
Good morning Dr Grande, I remember watching this on HBO. I am glad her husband kept after the police. I feel for her husband, daughter and other family members. Keep up the great work.
I’m devastated hearing about this! One of my all time favourite movies is Hal Hartley’s Trust in which she starred. 💔
Have you covered the case of the central park 5 yet? Thank you for covering this. What a waste of life. :(
Is that a new studio space? Looks great! Thanks for the great videos as always
That first scenario sounds plausible, with her trying to write, hearing incessant noise downstairs, and asking for some peace and quiet. And then the man taking offense at that and taking retaliatory action like a road-rage driver.
It’s no plausible at all. Adrienne was not *at all* a confrontational person, and her husband said the story was completely against her personality. I think it’s very clear Diego saw her and followed her (as he admitted later) and planned to SA her AND rob her but she fought like crazy for her own life and for the fact of her daughter. This pig couldn’t just leave and let her live her own life and be a mother her daughter.
@@4Mr.Crowley2 I don't know either way, just that sometimes a construction/repair job can seem too loud or take too long or just be too much to take when you're really needing to get something done.
I doubt a woman alone in NYC would've confronted them
You are so thorough, Dr. Grande! I always feel like I got all the information I needed 🙂
Let me settle into my comfortable off-off-couch and enjoy this video👍🏼
Nice new studio! Thanks for the consistent and thorough coverage, as usual.
Wow! Already moved to New Jersey!! Congratulations Dr. Grandé enjoy your stay:-D
Thank you Dr. Grande. That was a compelling show and a terrible ending, I agree with your opinion on the punishment, he went back to the crime scene as if nothing happened. That man (husband) was fortunate enough to have financial means for a private autopsy opening the case up for more investigation.
I like your updated background based on your southwest cactus theme!
Thanks for your analysis, Dr. Grande. Clearly, the murder was not interested in merely robbing Adrienne. If he had been, he could have done so while she was unconscious and then strung her up. On the other hand, why would he presume that she had a lot of cash or valuables on her or in her apartment? Apparently, since the police found nothing out of place (at first) he didn't search for anything. As for the initial "investigation" on the part of the police, we have to remember that this occurred in New York City, which is not really shocked by much of anything, and their determination of suicide would put a quick end to that particular job. That was an instance of negligence on their part.
He admitted to robbing many apartments in the buildings in which he worked as a construction worker
I’m ready for the Sam Bankman Freid analysis!!
Really hope you cover the Sean Daugherty case. I'm really interested to hear a psychological analysis of 12-year-olds and suicide.
That's such a strange case and from the info I've heard it's hard to believe he did it to himself
Love your content a lot Dr. Grande!
Thank you so much for another great video. I would be very interested in your analysis of the Jared Leisek case.
You've decorated, Doc. I like the white background. It's reminds of a blank canvas...like you're telling viewers: "Life begins now. It is the masterpiece that you can choose to paint well, by listening to my wise words".
Love the background love love love your videos no one else makes these stories make sense like you do your one in a million dr.grande keep up the great work keep up the inspiration keep the videos coming ill definitely keep watching 👀 💙 ❤️ 😊
Wonderful actress. Did a lot of indie movies with director Hal Hartley.
11/16/22 I’m so glad her Husband knew his Wife and pushed for them to look further! Adrienne, rip Love 💕 to family and friends
I like the new setup.
Time to press like then watch the video!
Well played Dr. Grande. I like the new background/studio. You and it are not certainly not off off putting.
Dr. Grande, I'd love to hear your opinion of the Cameron Todd Willingham case in Corsicana Texas in the 90s.
It is sad how often family members have to force police to do their jobs.
Good point and so true. So sad to have to do that when also going throufh a terrible loss.
NY
What the heck Doc! This is going to be interesting. I hate to say this, but good find on the topic.
Very sad. Interesting conclusions about the police case against Diego. TY for the upload, Dr. G!
Congrats on the new background!
Yes great insights for us always, along with the quips. Thanks Dr G😊💜💜
Awful tragic loss. Sorry for the family.I agree that this man should never get out of prison.
I like your new set up.
The additions of "off" were initially more indicative of how far "off of Broadway" a production was; with the implication that the further a production was from Broadway, the smaller its venue and budget and the less prestigious its cast and crew.
Love the new digs! Congratulations Doc!!
Crisp clean background...Iike it
Very good exposition. Thank you
I had seen the movie Waitress and was so sad to see at the end that it was dedicated to her due to her death. I watched the documentary by her husband today and was glad to see that she had kept a diary since childhood so her daughter could get to know her. Even her 1st birthday card was so touching. Bittersweet that they had given a Halloween party the day before her death, showing her interacting with Sophie, Andrew and friends.
Illegal entrance: justice deferred is justice denied.
I miss the brick wall 😂
Excellent subject and I feel for her so much and Andrew
Details: She asked him to keep his construction noise down and that made him angry. I think at that point she might have contacted a third party for her safety and to have have him kicked out.
The killer said that as one oc his 4 versions of confession ... no one else ever corroborated it 🤔🤬😭
The new recording studio looks nice. I will miss the brick wall.
Thank you Dr Grande, i always enjoy your content especially your tangents! Sending much live and appreciation!
I always kick myself for not proof reading before posting lol
' love and appreciation'
So refreshing you didn’t shy away from saying illegal immigration is a crime. I am a legal immigrant and believe countries should have protected borders and laws to regulate immigration. I do not believe people should trample over borders fleeing poverty in their own country…
@@cht2162 No, We stay home and fix our countries from within, or follow the laws of a sovereign country to enter with permission if permission is given, how is that so difficult to understand?
Love the new background, especially the blue back light and the cactus 🌵 family!
Nice set up, Dr. Grande.
Sometimes I think that the placement of the cacti is as it is just to give us anxiety while watching these videos. You madman Dr. Grande!
Congratulations the new studio
0k, your jokes are getting way better... Keep up the good work Dr. Grande
Something's inconsistent. If he has 25 years with "no possibility of parole," how does he get time off for good behavior? He should be in forever no matter what, right?
Oh no! Dr. Grande's desk was stolen and that's the crime of the century that needs to be analyzed!!!!! Waaaaaahhhhhhh
Liking the new setup Dr. Grande 👍👍 Was wondering if you could make a video on my favorite author Robert E. Howard? He was famous as the creator of Conan the Cimmerian.
The real takeaway here is how much more of a better Medical Examiner Dr. Baden is than everyone else in his field.
Whoa, new set up! Very....cactus-y. I approve.
Thanks doc! Nice new background btw 😊
Love the new setup doc!
I really needed the "off" bit today, thank you Dr.Grande its been a crappy week
You got me at “tangent” I fell off off my chair.
I'm watching this video from off off off off off Broadway i.e. my home office, seating capacity 1.
Love the blue lights.
The 1st clue should have been that she was not suicidal.
I love your new studio. It has a warm & cozy look & I'm happy to see your cacti 🌵
_Trust_ (1990)
truly a beautiful and amazing woman
