Promise ring given to an adult: "Not ready to make a real investment in you or committment to you, but this says you can't sleep with anyone else k thx".

Amen. In Texas, it isn't about rings. it's common law. This means a guy you slept with 2 years ago who lied about being married can now tell people that you are his wife and keep you from dating. You wouldn't really be his wife if he was married when you stayed with him. or if he did not live with you anymore. Likewise, a woman could do the same and take a man's car or home because he allowed her to sleep over the weekend at his place. Now gender prejudices are awful, so it could be a man taking resources or a woman trying to lock down a man who is tired of her, but people I talked to say the man wants to impair dating nearly 100% of the time even if he doesn't want the woman anymore.

I find that people that hurt or kill another for not returning their feelings is a sick sense of entitlement. It hurts when you like someone that doesn't feel the same but I really don't comprehend how they completely overlook that their obsession does not want them. No amount of bad behavior is going to change that. Especially now!

This is so alien to me, if someone doesn't like me, how could I like them? I don't get it. Her mental health issues may have been the reason for the recall of the promise ring. What a shame nobody noticed anything out of the ordinary.

If you truly love someone you want them to be happy; if their choice is someone other than you, you wish them well. It hurts, but you move on. If you can't let go and accept it it's more about obsession than love.

I feel that Kendra could have been saved had somebody gone to the police to report Brenda for what she was doing. Even those that agreed to commit the murder had that thought process and could have recorded Brenda when she was making plans and went straight to authorities. The fact that nobody did is just mind boggling.

This was a classic case of a man stringing a woman along, telling her he loved her and wanted to be married to her someday all the while knowing he didn’t love her or had any intention of marrying her. He was using her for sex and companionship. His ass should be in prison along side Brenda.

    1) You suggest that she was dealing with a feelings of being unfairly treated because of of what she was essentially was born with .. this is a pretty strong motivator for criminality.
    2) Not enough can be said for not fooling around with something as serious sex, there's a reason people mate for life. Mature or immature, regardless. It's really a part of our lizard brain selves, if you will. You can't just fool around, don't give a flying cow what your Ivy league, mega author mentor or friend says on relationships. I would NOT Abort a High Value Man's prototype!!
I think 🤔🧐🤔🧐 that YOU will be hard pressed to find a Woman 👠 who would!
Most of my friends would give the Baby up for Adoption; however, I know that some of the Women who went to Boarding School and, the ones who I attended the University with will Abort.
You see in situations when a Woman is " SLUMMING" with a Low Value Man, and she Accidentally gets Pregnant that can be a MAJOR dynamic 🤷🤷🤷!!
She does not want his Prototype growing inside her; and, she doesn't want to have to deal with the Low Value Man for the next 18 years!!!
In this PARTICULAR video....we see that this particular Gentleman is considered to be a High Value Man; therefore, I can come to the CONCLUSION that she would not Abort his " seed".
NOW.....do YOU see Women aborting babies from: NFL, NBA, NHL, and from the Entertainment Industry???????
Did Salma Hayek? Did Steven Tyler girlfriend??
Do a survey for yourself with other Women and you WILL see for yourself 🤷🤷

The Pregnancy was considered high Risk; however, Padma Lakshmi went ahead with the pregnancy.
The comments from the Regular Average Joe was shocking!!!! For some odd reason they could not come to terms that God answered her prayers 🙏💯!! They wanted to be the FATHER of her children. She just happened to get pregnant by someone who is " Top Dog" . 🤷🤷
You see.... She is what a lot of Men would love to have as a Mother of their CHILD. Sadly, only Top Tier Men have Access to Women like herself.

A promise ring is fine when you're 10. When you are older, you should expect a engagement ring and know a promise ring is a ruse to keep you availlable whilst the man is keeping his options open. Well that wasn't so nice of him, was it? She has maybe gotten a little bit in overdrive but that being unaware of her fondness for him, is a bit too convenient and I don't believe for one moment he's such a clueless and dimwitted individual. I suspect that was more of an act. If he didn't see it, others surely will have. And if you are such an idiot to think a woman you've dated and made plans with to take her down the isle will always have problems or resentments against you for not making that dream come true. However much she denies it, being just friends after that is as improbable of Elvis still being alive. You know when something sounds too good to be true? It usually isn't. Can't decide on who's the most gullable of the two. 🥇🥈🔕

Although I haven't really seriously dated anyone after that I still feel happy that I invested time and energy in myself rather than think about what could have been. Brenda just didn't know to let go and she paid the price for that including destroying other people's lives too.

In fairness, as an adult I gave away two promise rings, was engaged twice and am happily married for the first time to an amazing wife, who was the recipient of one of those rings. I feel as though it wasn’t so much about a lack of maturity but more so where we were at in life. I’d argue it’s essentially a lower-stress way of handling a longer engagement. We wanted to get some more stuff prepared, ie career, school, finances and so on without feeling the social pressures of being seen by those around us as an “engaged couple” and having people ask us about wedding planning, wedding dates, plans to have kids, etc etc. So it was kinda like “Hey, we’re engaged but we don’t want everyone bugging us about wedding stuff and we don’t want to stress ourselves out about getting married when we’re still getting some stuff prepared, so let’s keep it as a low-key engagement for a bit.” Again, first time it didn’t work out so great but the second time I do feel like it helped us have a lot more breathing space while planning stuff out ourselves. I’m quite tired as I write this so hopefully that made some sense, but I feel like seeing it as a low-key, social-pressure-free engagement is a pretty fair summary. In my case, at least.

Both the killer and the victim were accomplished young men with every advantage in the world and tremendous potential. The murderer’s guilt was never in doubt. He pled out and received 35 years. Promise rings were a thing in the Midwest in the 70s. I know because I got one. I understood it as the next step after 'going steady'. It was a promise that this relationship is moving towards being an engagement. Or, maybe it was a ploy by jewelers to get men to buy a ring before buying the engagement ring.
