It was my first ever Metallica concert as well. The storm just added more atmosphere to it, it was unforgettable, a totally out-of-this-world experience indeed.
I love Metallica, I love James. What I don’t love is when artists invite the crowd to sing part of their songs. I paid to see James sing, not the crowd..
The clean middle part with James solo and Kirk harmonizing might still be the coolest and most beautiful piece of music ever written. Then it comes back in distorted and the song gets heavy again. Fucking genius. Watching these guys ups and downs and still kicking the worlds ass for 40 years straight is a huge inspiration.
Kirk did not play the whole song. If you take a closer look he changed the guitar at the beginning and at the end he strummed the guitar without sound. Also the solo is too clean for Kirk and conditions.
@nolan01234 I was kinda shocked that they were still able to play with it raining like that but they also played in Antarctica somehow so I dunno. Kirk switched guitars because the first one got too wet I think. At the end the guitar not producing any sound, he likely just cut the volume or has a kill switch. Or just activated his tuner. There are a number of plausible explanations for this
They finally gave everyone what we wanted! a ProShot performance of this song in the rain!

I really hope they release the full concert. I found the dynamic from the beautiful sun set in the beginning to an epic thunderstorm for the grande finale so cool.

This performance is a sign that Metal is not dead. Not just this band nor the people, just the weather greeting everyone at Olympiastadion and calling them to be part of it. Lightning strikes forever.

I love Metallica, I love James. What I don’t love is when artists invite the crowd to sing part of their songs. I paid to see James sing, not the crowd..
probably the most badass Metallica performance in recent times. God i love Metallica
Right up there with the greatest performances in rock and roll history 🤘🏻
There are a number of plausible explanations for this
this goes hard when there is a new live video
I was there. Was my first metallica concert. I had Eyecontact with James. It was such a fvcking cool evening!! 🔥🤟
4:11 The guitar, the thunder, I wish I was there. Love from Greece 🇬🇷❤🤘🏼🎸🔥
R.I.P Cliff, you were a legend ❤🕊️
🇬🇷
They finally gave everyone what we wanted! a ProShot performance of this song in the rain!
There is Master of Puppets live in Manchester with even starker rain which i liked a lot, but this in Munich just got several times better and more iconic.

That Lightning it was Cliff Burton ^^
His spirit is still here and he never left
The second time play Master of Puppets in Rain but now in Germany, the last one was in Manchester, England - June 18, 2019
I remember
I KNEW they were gonna make this into a official video when I saw all the vids from people in the crowd. I’ve been refreshing their RUclips channel and waiting for it🥲
Didn't expect it so fast. What an epic moment for sure.
I really hope they release the full concert. I found the dynamic from the beautiful sun set in the beginning to an epic thunderstorm for the grande finale so cool.
@@Fabi-fd8kv People were showing the snippets on TikTok. It was a perfect opportunity to show the video sooner.
60 year old guys playing the shit out of them in the heaviest rain, if James says sing with me, you sing.
0:18 I thought that lightning was a lighting effects until I realized it was nature itself. What a perfect timing
Shirtless lars!! Master of puppets in the rain!! This is so 2019-1986
Looks like it's 2024
Metallica... Thanks for everything for being with me in my darkest times, for being with my dad in war, for being with my dad since 1982 thanks Metallica❤
This performance is a sign that Metal is not dead. Not just this band nor the people, just the weather greeting everyone at Olympiastadion and calling them to be part of it. Lightning strikes forever.
“We’ll never stop, we’ll never quit, cause we’re Metallica.”
-Whiplash, Kill Em All
We'll never stop and quit what???? Grabbing money when they get a chance??

@@dkrawk8309It's normal
@dkrawk8309 lmao envious much?
Couldn't have scripted that lightning any better. Perfect way to start this legendary metal intro!!
This performance should become legendary. I wonder that people will think watching this many years from now.
As a musician, I can respect the amount of hours spent rehearsing this. True professionalism here. So pretty to have 3 guitars harmonizing and the dynamics so beautiful
First metaliica concert ever and got to experience this masterpiece in a thunderstorm. Unforgettable!
The lightning during the song 😻😻😻😻
This video is perfect, just savage. The rain, the lightnings, one if the best tunes ever, shirtless Lars, James's blooded knuckles, rain drops splashing from the drums, James's evil look at 2:54. Just amazing, all hail the kings!! lml
Does anyone els understand that they channel spirits and get possessed to play live, the more your third eye is open the more you can see it, it’s my favourite thing about Metallica and other bands I love
This will go down in history as one of the most iconic rock performances of all time.
Will show my grand kids that this was metallica. Long live Metallica
This gig makes them even more legendary.
THE BEST BAND EVER IN HISTORY!!!!!!!!!
I used to say Iron Maiden and AC/DC were just above them.
After seeing them last year for the 10th time, I'm not so sure about that now.
They are God level.
My first time visiting Metallica concert - and it was the best one I've ever visited, the rain, the lightning, the crowd and band themselves made it simply unforgettable
Words can not describe how epic that felt in that moment: Master of Puppets, heavy rain, we were all soaking wet, thunder and lightning in the sky .... A moment I will remember forever 🌩⚡🤘
Kirk, James, Rob, Lars, Cliff, Jason, we love Metallica

Saw it live. 10/10 for finishing the set.
Це ж треба так любити своїх прихильників!... Під такою зливою, може й небезпечно для життя!... "Metallica" - ваші прихильники обожнюють вас!
This was my First Metallica concert. It was beautiful
Ride the Puppets! Amazing concert. My neck hurts till today.
Same! 🤘🏻
Not miss a note in the pouring rain unbelievable
The part in which the audience sings with the band shows us how epic, powerful and symbolic Metallica's song is.
YESS THE LIGHTNING VIDEO FINALLY IN GOOD QUALITY
I was there with my father and brother and I gotta say...it was the best first experience for me and my bro...the whole Weekend and the weather on the 1. Night...just unforgettable ❤️🤘🏻🔥
My wonderful brother in Dresden arranged tickets for us to celebrate my 50th birthday. I travelled to the show from Cote D'Armor in Brittany, France. It was my first Metallica show. Apparent from my brother's car breaking down on the way to Munich, we had a brilliant time. The storm added to the occasion. And this performance of Master Of Puppets is off the scale. 🤘😈💀😎
@@grantwallace1882I love hearing stories like this! I saw them in 04 when I was a teenager. It makes me so happy to hear you saw them for your first time! I hope the rest of the show was as epic as this video! Then again, it’s Metallica so I bet it was.
@@Andrew-l5p2y The show was fantastic. I bought the recording from that night and the one from Sunday. I think we experienced the better night, perhaps because of the storm.
I was seven, when Master of Puppets was released. My mate from school has borrowed me Metallica's casette to listen when I'm back home. When I first heard "Battery", my jaw dropped to the floor.
I am now forty five and my jaw is still there.
James' voice has improved soooo much from a few years ago. They sound just like when they were at their peak!!
A child hood 38 year old song still being played and here I am still listening! Metallica Forever!
Amazing performance! Also wild that you can hear the rain deadening the sustain on the cymbals. Love that they played through the elements!
The rain does make a different sound - I kinda like it.
The “He’s back” with lightning after was Cliff saying, “Hell yea I’m back!”
Them playing in the rain is the best thing ive seen they need to play in more rainy days
To show cliff is there
