The no repeat weekend Minneapolis this was the one song I wanted to hear. This was the best song played from that weekend and the best moment of my life
I agree. This and the power of For Whom the bell tolls was the best that day. For whom the bell tolls, Battery, one, and moth into flame were the best for me
@@gabejkrebs I thought it was a little "out of order" that they opened with Whiplash, but then went right into For Whom the Bell Tolls instead of Ride the Lightning (which was right after). Still a 9.5/10 night.
i was snake pit chicago and i will say im jealous i didnt get to hear battery but getting to hear and watch blackened and fight fire with fire in front of me was the best thing i could ever ask for
Battery was my Introduction to Metallica. 14 years old, in my buddy's older Brothers car & he sticks Master of Puppets into the cassette player. 38 years later it's still one of my favourites
Nice. I was 15, had heard the Black album but my Dad got me Puppets and Kill ‘Em All CDs for Christmas. Stuck Puppets on and that opening just floored me 🤘 15 years later it still gives me chills
The way James stands and holds his guitar when he plays the very first opening riff exactly looks like the James from the late 80's. They are definitely still living and feeling it!! \m/
Metallica will live hopefully not decades but centuries, their talent from performance, song writing, and pure talent has been unmatched in my lifetime, and I don't expect thar to change anytime soon
Of all the 48 songs they've played during this tour, Battery was the only one they didn't give us a video on YT. Great Job, we can now all stream the full M72 setlist!
I really wanted to see them in Seattle, but due to procrastination and a few other things in life, I didn't get a chance to buy tickets for that show. Oh well.
Dude, I'm a massive Metallica fanboy, but this performance at this stage of their career is just insanely energetic, precise and powerful Best band ever without a shadow of a doubt for me.
SAME!!! Saw them open for Ozzy on The Damage Incorporated tour!!! I was only 13 and my young mind was blown away!!! I’m so glad I had the pleasure of seeing the legend performing on bass. He was an absolutely beast performing live so tragic he passed away months after this show.
I was at both the Friday and Sunday show with two of my nephews. It was their first concert ever. After the Sunday show, I told them “Well, boys, now every concert you see will be competing for second place because how the fuck do you top two days of Metallica?”
Amazing all the complete song, the Glorious bridge! And Lars playing the Tones tempos in right way and double bass sound brutal, Rob un his bass very great!! Kirk's solo and riffs amazing and James is a God of Metal!!! Long live METALLICA for all time 🤟😎🤘
Thank you for the love you have for your audience, you give your heart, your soul on stage and on top of that you share these sequences. Metallica, you know, I love you...
I just went back in time to 1986 at 1:45 and just saw myself as a teenager thrashing and headbanging during their tour with Ozzy. Man, those were good days and not a care in the world but just pure adrenaline on volume 11. To see them back then and to see kids today doing no different is pretty damn metal AF!
Holy shit you guys sound studio quality and tight as brutal fk. Give your sound man a raise. Great mix on my new killer headphones here. Drums sound great. Nice job, Lars.
I think Lars sounds good in these videos. Too many people bitch about him being imperfect. He's like 60 and probably kicking more ass than 95 percent of the complainers ever will.
In 1987 as a teenager who had escaped war in Afghanistan and moved to San Francisco Bay Area with his family, I was eager to go back to Afghanistan to fight the invading "Soviet Union" army and perform Islamic duty of Jihad and defend Islam against the "infidels". But then I heard this song which changed everything. I was convinced that this music was way better than Jihad. Metallica is the reason I didn't go back to Afghanistan to take part in a war in which countless people were killed. Metallica prevented one Afghan teenager from becoming a potential terrorist. Thank you Metallica!
That was clean, fast and beautiful. Never ever forget how much these guys changed the face of metal forever. And can still deliver the goods all these years later. 🤘🙂🤘
i was there for this and the buildup was perfect especially since most people weren't expecting them to play Battery. the yellow spotlight kicking on when the beat dropped and lighting up James was so awesome to see in person, i miss this concert, such a cool experience‼️🖤
I was at the show. Battery was one of the best songs performed that night. For me the best songs that night were: For Whom The Bell Tolls, Battery, One, and Moth Into Flame.
I could only go to the first night as we had to drive back to Wyoming so my wife and son could start school Monday morning. I wish I could have attended the second night for the first three songs you mentioned.
@@ejengelhaupt127 I could only attend the second night. I know they played "Fade to black" on night one the day that you attended. Fade to black is my favorite Metallica song
I remember the summer of 86 when they opened for Ozzy it was the Cow Palace in San Francisco it would end up being the last time we saw Cliff alive... Houselights went down in the opening of battery come on and then it was just this blinding light and it was on it was amazing🤟
i was there both nights. night 1, king nothing and orion were my favorites. night two battery and inamorata were incredible. hearing the intro to this live gave me goosebumps! cheers metallica, thank you for putting on one hell of a weekend in minneapolis and giving me and my father, who got me into metal as a young kid when st anger came out, a weekend we will remember forever.
