Your story about Brittany using someone else's urine to fake a drug test reminds me of an experience I had in the late 1990s that was both sad and amusing. I ran a group home for men dealing with Substance Use Disorder, and we suspected that one of our residents was using. I confronted him about this and sent him to a local hospital to get tested. (We didn't have home testing kits at the time.) The hospital tested for a large number of conditions as a kind of catch-all for administrative reasons. The next day I called the hospital lab for the test results. They were negative for any illicit drugs. They also showed that he was pregnant.

You are so correct about the Meth. I've seen it around for decades, and it never ends well. So much craziness and crime with it. I've heard every druggie tale there is and I've seen the bodies. Tragic. The thing is that so many of the users have utterly no hope for and kind of better life in reality, just a continued deadly grind. Nothing to hold them back, or to live for otherwise. I know there are programs and thinks, and not everyone falls into the traps, but far too many do. Short wasted lives.

And there's like another half-dozen of these bizarre, just-doesn't-make-sense story elements.
The decisions of basically EVERYONE involved in this story (assuming the story's trrue... which it ABSOLUTELY isn't) are utterly insane.

Basically, this is "street rules" behaviour and it becomes "normal" for those
"on the streets". It doesn't help that govt. employees basically ASK for certain stock answers to "the questions' . We may have done this as students: people coming and going in some rented house. I did it, a large Victorian near the El Toro Marine base. But back then we always paid our rent (somehow) and never had real major issues with behaviour. Most guys were just glad to get home from Vietnam, and lots of girls they went to HS with were glad to see them back. But add DRUGS as a motivator, and things can go sideways rreal fast.

She buys the dog from a random guy, gets her brother to drive her to pick the guy up, invited him to stay the night, leaves that m note with the gas station teller, tells her brother to go bk to talk to the teller and then he comes bk to her house with his gun locked and loaded. Ummm what!? Sounds like a set up murder to me. Haven't gotten to the end of this video yet as I'm typing this but if she was in sincere danger, she could've told her brother when he got there to take them to get smokes. She could've went to the police officer in the store, she didn't have to go back home with Todd. Just sounds way too fishy to me. Like this was a set up murder that she tried to make out to be self defense by pre-leaving that note for the teller. Maybe the motive was for drugs/money..

I agree that in most cases it is the parents, or single parent, responsible for the lack of instilling ANY morality in their children. I have seen so many of these true crime analysis and videos and cannot believe how human beings can commit such violent acts on others so easily. Heck, I feel guilty if the person at my table accidentally spills milk when serving a glass, I have a ridiculous amount of guilt over things, too much. I cannot imagine these people have little to no remorse or guilt over their horrendous crimes. Obviously they have no empathy. I understand empathy develops at a very young age, like 1 month to 3 years old, when the baby should be attaching to the mother and learns about love from the mother or parents. If the child does not get exposed to any such bonding, they fail to develop empathy. Too many kids these days are unwanted pregnancies so I am sure they never have the chance to bond, therefore they have hardly any feelings. They only do what they think is best for their needs and nothing else. Our society has devolved so much in the 50 years of my existence it is like I was born into a totally different planet. So sad.

No. But being terrified, recently SAed, a drug history, not fully comprehending the situation, being untrusting of the police, along with many other factors caused her and Chris to make stupid decisions. I honestly believe if Chris would have killed him this wouldn’t have even been a story, he would have gotten off with the stand your ground, that’s probably one of the reasons why he initially took the blame. Less time is still the rest of your life. You murdered someone. You plead guilty to murder. Society will be protected by virtue of shunning the someone who would repeatedly lie, pull the trigger, continue lying, even point the finger at her nearest and dearest. What is NOT guilty about this woman? It’s insulting that this case has been used to try to gain a ‘feminist’ foothold. Nothing worse in this world than abandoning your kids using a dead baby as an excuse. Meth was her honey, her lover. And her ‘Mama’? The tree the apple fell from.

    Dr. Grande,
If I may request a suggestion for a possible upcoming new video -
    Please consider the case of
Dean Corll aka "The Candy Man" along with the 2 teenage boys that helped Corll procure teenage boys...
David Owen Brooks & Elmer Wayne Henley
    "Houston Mass Murders 1970-1973"
In 1973 when this case was known to law enforcement the “Houston Mass Murders” became the serial killer case with the most victims in U.S. history at 28.
There has always been more evidence to suggest the “Houston Mass Murders” case sadly yielded more known and unknown victims.

Ironically, my daughter's name is also Brittany Smith and she is a year younger than the Brittany of this video. The name Brittany (spelled various ways) was very popular in the 80s and then it quickly became less popular. That's why most Brittany's are around the same age.

Dextromethamphetamine is a legal, schedule II prescription treatment for ADHD, and is effective in rare cases for some people who have uncomfortable side effects from mixed amphetamine salts and dextroamphetamine. It is probably underprescribed because of illicit use, and insurance is often unwilling to cover it. Oral doses of the drug are profoundly different in kinetics, and therefore effect and duration, from insufflation and smoking.
Levomethamphetamine is a unscheduled, over the counter nasal decongestant.
You're right methamphetamine was used illegally in this case, but it also has, both enantiomers, powerful therapeutic effects, overshadowed, unfortunately, by dimwitted repetition of the idea it's neurotoxic, which is true, if you scale up the dose it takes to kill a rat to a human.

If it was just the one shooting incident, I may have given her a break; but it seems that she keeps committing crimes. I think that the longer she stays in custody the better. A lengthier stay may give her enough clean time to make that stick, turn her life around, get her children back, etc..

There was a case in Michigan which I think relates to this case - the woman in the Michigan case had also lost custody of her children but was on track to get them back. However, she got entangled in a relationship with a man who abused drugs and wound up killing him so that her relationship with him would not keep her from getting her kids.

As a former pitbull owner, I can attest to how beautiful, loyal and cuddly they are. Please don't allow the media's bad publicity to taint your perception of this wonderful breed. My first pitbull, Jagger, absolutely loved children. We had people bring kids over who were terrified of dogs, and Jagger basically cured them of that terror. He loved playing red rover with a teddy bear and 5 or 6 kids in our yard. Unfortunately he was only 6 when he died of a rare lymphatic cancer in 2004. My second pitbull, Lars, was a real gem too. He made our family so happy after mourning Jagger. Beautiful boy. We had him for 10 years, he died of old age. The reason people want to own pitbulls is because they're a lovely breed of dog.

Good morning Dr Grande, very interesting video. Well, a dangerous person begats a dangerous person. Yes, Brittany is guilty. But, I believe she was scared and trying to protect the other person. Stand your ground laws in California state the person trying or causing verbal or physical harm has to be in the house. Then if the victim retaliate with causing injuries or death, the person will be cleared of all charges. I know this because I put a shotgun barrel in my ex-boyfriend stomach and told him I would kill him if he didn't stop coming to my front door. It worked, never saw this man again.
Always learn from your videos. Could you do a video on Amy Semple McPherson. She was an Evangelical preacher in the 1920s and 30s. She disappeared will swimming in Long Beach, CA.
    Very interesting situation.
    Take care and Happy Saturday.

Boy oh boy. Im gonna come in from a different angle, firstly: For now, I say: Ti hell with em all. And what about some decent laws to protect animals from being in the ‘care’ -(not) - of drug addicts and violent people? We have these for children, that’s why she had her kids taken away. It’s a dangerous and cruel loophole in the law. I see em around my area suffering. I don’t even like pit bulls, but I do feel the suffering of beings and little puppies feel madness and fear. To hell with the lot of em. I’m gonna share a personal story related to this, later. It’s topical for me. But gotta go to work, so thank you Dr Grande.
