    Rob:
    Thank you so much for taking the time to do this video. Long weekend, nobody could come for 4 days. I watched your little video, and 20 minutes later, with a little bit of emery cloth, Perfect, working just fine. Such a simple fix, but without people like you doing these kind of videos, it would have been hundreds of dollars.
    Really appreciate your time!

      Thank you so much! I appreciate the kind words. Yeah we got lucky and have a friend that used to do hvac and he talked me through what to do. Afterwards I thought more people might wanna know this, wish I had thought about it when I was actually repairing it lol. So glad to hear it worked for you! Being at the mercy of repair people and the money they charge is tough.

    $150 is generous I was charged $341 just to diagnose the issue that I already knew it was (ignitor coil) and they wanted an extra $327 to replace.

  • @doublebulbing
    @doublebulbing 2 года назад

    I have had this issue about every 3 months since install with no real solution. I have put in new rods and igniter and even changed the igniter control box and that seemed to help I thought since at the time of that replacement I was guessing that the ignitor wire was not making good connection to the ignition box but then it still kept happening this time was like 6 months later instead of 3 now it is about ever 3 months it beeps 11 and I take them out and clean them with 600 grit sandpaper making them clean again and then trouble free for a while and then it happens again every thing else seems fine and proper gas pressure and power so not sure but there has to be a better explaination than I currently have the water heat is great other than this every 3 months

      Ensure you buy real Rinnai parts. I replaced a set with Chinese knock offs and it failed on me a few months later. You'll know it's Chinese if you find some that are much cheaper than the rest. No way around paying for this.
