This was an exact replacement for the old one that lasted about 10 years. ruclips.net/user/postUgkx7yWIKcrbA9KMHkGSfcgxW2lsjHT6B8Sh The top of my mitigation tube by my roofline was just a 90 elbow which allowed too much debris to fall down into the fan, eventually ruining it. Without this issue, I bet it would have kept running another 10 years. When I replaced this fan, I added an extra elbow joint so the top tube now it does a 180, which should solve that problem. The radon guys around here wanted to charge me a $300 diagnostic fee, then parts/labor (probably close to $600 total). I installed this all by myself in about an hour for the cost of the fan; it would probably be even easier/faster with two people. FYI the manufacturer's warranty greatly differs depending on whether you install it yourself (1 yr warranty) or have a licensed installer do it (10 yrs).
My controller just went out this morning. I cannot get it to turn back on voa the on/off switch. I check the fust box and no fuses have been tripped. Any suggestions?
My heater stopped working too. it’s below freezing outside and nothing tripped. I hope someone answers if not then I suggest calling help line tomorrow business hours. Super frustrated. No answers online
Question. I just installed a new rinnai the other day and my customer said the water stays hot for 5 minutes then turns cold. What could be wrong. Is there a video for this?
Mine doesn't iluminate, no display. I've had the RL94E for at least 7 years and just flushed the heater and had the unit turn off while flushing and now the controller does not function, any suggestions? I am getting hot water and the heater does tuen on.
My area is 20 degrees so my water heater safety mode kicked in. If temps are still below freezing how do I get the hot water heater working? Is this ok to do when still below freezing? Please advise. Builder did not leave manuals ugh
I wish my new home didn't have this... Takes too long to get warm water and now i found out that needs to be service ~every year... I never serviced the old tank WH with no issues... Maybe tank less it uses less energy but i trow away lots of cold water and service cost are high.
I accidently locked my water heater last night and now I can't get it to unlock even though following the instructions. I even tried shutting down the circuit breaker in hopes that it would help, but it didn't. I think I have code 33 on it.
Flip dip switch #6 to the ON position on the top set of switches (tan switches). Crank it up to 140° and melt your skin off. If you have children or people with disabilities, this is NOT recommended without appropriate precautions.
I have the same problem. Just moved into a house with a Rinnai, my first experience with tankless water heater. However the control panel won't allow me to increase the temperature. It's no fun taking a lukewarm shower when the weather is still chilly. Can't imagine how cold it would be taking the shower in the deep winter ❄️❄️❄️ Tankless hot water heaters are supposed to be energy efficient, I guess. However it takes a long time to get hot water, a waste of 2-3 minutes of good cold water. I don't see the point of saving the energy yet wasting the water. The design of not being able to change the temperature setting from the control panel is also so stupid ~ from a very frustrated senior 😭
Never again!!!!! Get one if you enjoy complicating your life! I’ll spend the whopping $25 extra in energy costs to run a NORMAL tank dead reliable hot water heater. I have wasted my time and money on several different makes and models and they all suck!!! I especially love it when the electricity goes out mid shower and the water immediately goes cold, my wife loved that one! If your going to torture yourself with one of these miserable units at least go for the standing pilot unit. I have both and at least those don’t leave you in the cold. Unfortunately I designed my hot water heater cabinet for these darn things so in order to go back to a reliable tank heater it’s a lot of work. Hopefully this reaches someone who’s on the fence about purchasing a tankless and it pushes them to go with a tank water heater.
Great Video! Learn a lot. I was looking for an answer to my problem. I recently flushed my tankless water heater, after doing that, the water takes longer now to get hot water. Before, it instantly produced hot water. I’m talking about 2-3 minutes of wasting cold water. Anyone have a suggestion?
I know this question is probably going to sound stupid, but I just took ownership of my tiny house on wheels, which has a Rinnai hot water heater... I got the remote control in it's original packaging, and I can't even get the thing to turn on... Can anyone help? 😆
I understand. One solution is to print the user manual, then highlight and notate it, and keep it next to the control unit. I’ve had my heater for five years and haven’t had a problem with it. Good luck.

Same problem right now, any solution. No power to unit, have gas, electricity to house
My controller won't turn on or illuminate even though I have hot water. Not sure what's the issue. Can you please help?
Thank you for the fantastic and informative video. One quick question...how can I reset (clear) the error codes? Is it possible? Cheers!
Will turning it up to 140 Help it get warmer faster? Or no it’ll just help it get hotter in the end.
From my understanding, turning the temp up will not make the water hotter faster.

Is it displaying an error code?
Thank you for this. Will a current fault code display without user manipulation of the keypad?

Great video! I just installed this controller as a secondary unit. Can you control the recirculation pump with it?
Exelent my friend
Why would the controller shut off and the On/Off button not work?
You ever find an answer to that. Mine just shut off out of thin air
How does one add additional controlers? Is it wi-fi or hard wired?
Just installed a brand new rsc199in today but it's not working. Power/gas/water lines are OK. Doesn't fire on and the "in use" lamp does not turn on.
Can the temperature controller MC91-2 work with RE199 model??!

How can you get the RU199in to go to 185 degrees? Manual says this unit will make the 199 go to that tank but I can’t get it above 140.
How to control the temperature on that unit?
Follow the directions in the ru199in manual. I had to reboot to get it to go to 185 but it worked.
How do you get it to go to 96f instead of 98f ??
Is installing this control necessary to pass a final inspection? Im guessing the unit will work without it.
You need some type of control.
Well Thank You, nice presentation as I have one just like this.
I would like to put my water heater into economy mode, I need help. Video would be helpful.
Thank you for a good detailed video
Do we need to keep it On Everytime?
How can you increase the water temperature higher than 120? I just descaled my rinnai hoping that would help, but my water is still luke warm at 120

WHAT IS GOING ON IF ONE OF THE FIXTURES IS NOT GETTING HOT WATER?
How do I get the in use lamp on. No hot water for 4 days smh
I have the same controller but the temperature is decreasing automatically. Can you one help ?
Thanks for the video! Could you make a video on how to install this controller?
I guess it's kinda off topic but does anybody know of a good website to stream new tv shows online?

Tankless is one of the best decision I made when we built our house 18 years ago. Rinnai unit and not a single problem with a house of 6.
If you experience frequent power outages, I get it. Otherwise, I like it. Endless hot water (for long or simultaneous showers) is nice.
What if they are connected and don’t come on??
My unit starts beeping while its in use and no hot water is available any ideas?
Can you share how you resolved this issue? We have the same issue, code #12.
Mine is throwing Code 11. I’m not sure if the pilot light is gas or not, but ignition seems to be my problem. I’m getting gas, but no spark or fire.

NOT user friendly (for average home owner). I wish the builder did not install this brand for my home. Too complicated. Customer support is NOT good.
