Just moved into a newly built house and they have this thing set at 120. You almost have to turn it entirely HOT in order to hop into a shower/bath. I appreciate the video man... it helps alot
I want to thank you so much for this. I had 2 plumbers come out. One was going to charge 3200 and said it was a terrible water heater, the next one said I needed to call Rinnai to get a temp gauge! I went online and saw your video and my husband fixed it in 2 minutes. The only issue is it takes forever to get hot water in our sink. It is the furthest away but we have a dinky home. We have old galvanized pipes (70) years , so getting those replaced. Thank you again!
There is a setting on the water heater to circulate hot water continuously. They have a small valve installed at the end of your line that should work with your existing pipes. This option uses more gas, but waiting for hot water wastes your time. Time is money?
Wow Sir! Super easy. There was no issue with the water temperature until we got into Fall. When I take a shower now it feels like I am on a cloud in heaven!
Thank you so much! Found all kinds of videos for units with the dip switches in the front but you were the only one who showed how to do it with this unit!
Thank you, you just saved my day with this information. I was like crazy figuring out how to raise the temperature more and thanks to this video I managed to do it, thank you.🔥💯
Subscribed and thanks for sharing. I have the Rinnai recirculating tankless heater and it's not your typical tankless heater since the pump or fan is constantly on. Even if I disable the recirculation on the app it will automatically turn on again. I know one of the features is the scheduler where you can schedule to turn off and on during the day. My old tankless only turned on when hot water in the house is used, which I like. This tank's pump or fan seems to be on constantly and it's loud. By any chance do you know another way to disable the recirculation pump besides the phone app and scheduler? The recirculation pump supposed to give instant hot water, but I really don't like the noise.
Worked like a charm, thanks! Is there a way to set it higher than 140? Just curious. 130 is plenty for me, I don’t even need the full 140, so I definitely don’t need even more than that. But like I said - just curious.
Thanks very much for you video. I just moved to a newly constructed house which has Rinnai V75e. It is outdoor gas unit and it does not have temperature controller installed. What are my options? Thank you
Previously my rinnai was upped to 140 a year or so ago. It's felt mild lately even when at maximum in the shower. I looked and it's at 130. It let me 'button up' to 140, but I haven't felt much increase in temp when showering. It still says 140 now. It used to be I couldn't even have the temp holder on my shower at maximum, not I'm shivering if I step away from the stream with it at max.
Hi Jojo, If the 'buttoning up' is still not working for you there may be a bigger problem with the unit. I'd recommend contacting Rinnai directly about the issue. They have a contact form on their website (see link below). Hopefully they can help you out because no one likes a cold shower www.rinnai.us/tankless-water-heater
I don't think so because my installer showed me where the button to set the temperature was. I just forgot the instructions to change and my manual doesn't tell me the correct information.
I had a slightly different model. Mine had a series of numbers, 1-8, on a connector. I flipped the switch down for number six and can now increase the temp to 140. Just leaving this comment here in case anyone else doesn't notice an A button on their board.
I have the 1-8 as well but I have a Upper 1-8(with yellow pegs) Lower 1-8(with white pegs) Each has the 1 peg pressed down. Which #6 did you hit(yellow or white) and did you touch either of the 1’s already pressed down or did leave them where they are and then pressed down which #6
Thanks so much!!! This is great. My hot water line runs along a concrete slab and drops it's heat very quickly; is there a way to get above 140 degrees?
Probably not for residential, product liability. you can turn on the continuous circulation option. once the concrete is warm, it will not take much to keep it up .
I'm using the Control-R mobile app and after making this setting modification I can modify the temp using the app, but not manually. I'm guessing it's because I have the Control-R box connected to the heater but have found no documentation about that. Thank you for the video.
We did this a few years ago so thank you but in texas we lost power for a week and the heater seems to have reset to 120. Haven’t checked as it’s k the attic but would it lose its memory if out of power for a week?
Hi, I’ve tried this and mine doesn’t change anything on the screen with either button pushed. Mine looks like yours but doesn’t have everything on the plastic panel which the button is located. It’s a RL75i model
You won’t get hot water any faster than your previous hot water heater, unless you have a recirculation pump which keeps hot water criculating continuously through your pipes.
Are you pressing the priority button when you set the temp? The button tells the water heater that the controller you're touching has priority on water temp for the heater. Note that the priority can only be changed while no hot water is running. I was able to find more detailed instructions on the link here under "How to Set the Temperature" if you need further help: www.alpinehomeair.com/related/Rinnai%20LSe%20Series%20Installation%20Instructions.U287-1932x01(00).pdf
@@AlbanyCountyFasteners thank you for the video. I’m confused though. When you ask if they are hitting the priority button, does this mean they weren’t supposed to or they were supposed to. I’m going to be doing the same thing I just want to move it to 125, but do I need to press that priority button at some point, or else it will just go back to 120 in a couple days?
Mine didn’t either, but I figured out it’s because I have two tankless water heaters, running in parallel and only one control panel acts as the master for both. So if you have two running in parallel with the cross connect cable, try the other one and the guidance that he gave worked.
We just moved yesterday to a townhouse condo and the heater the same as this but the highest water temperature is only 32 degrees with 140. It so cold for shower. Please help
Thank you so much for the reply. It was already set to 140 but the highest water temperature is only 32 degree celcius. It didn’t get hotter than that. I want more hotter, because 32 degrees is so cold for shower. Thank you
i did this and now i have to let the water run for at least 15 minutes minimum to get hot water 140 but with in 2-5 minutes tops the hot watet cuts off and freezing water comes out

Then follow the rest of the instructions. Just be careful not to tear the plastic cover over the buttons. Works exactly as he describes.

You can’t
Switched it to no recirculation- goes to 185° with 1b and 2b set
