Just bought my first lb7 this past weekend. It’s an 01 with 176k on the dash, I will definitely be getting this so I can monitor my egts and boost and other temps I need. Super clean unit, ordered about $1600 in parts to get it up to par such as filters, diff fluid and seals, calipers (brake lines since they blew out on drive home) and she’s ready to go
I got this one from Thoroughbred, I have a '17 XLT non-FX4 and for us guys that don't have the manual regen option, this monitor DOES give you the option to manually regen the truck. Solid Monitor, does everything I need it to and it's not as slow as some may make it out to be, they're used to their smart phone's speed when they say it's slow. Awesome Monitor.
The tuning option is the only thing you didn't click on. I see a bunch of conflicting information on this. Can I run my DSP 5 tunes on this unit or not. On the CTS2 you swipe down and it gives you the option to switch between the tunes. If not, what is the tuning option on this unit for? Thanks
Hey dmax or thoroughbred, can it tell you if the truck is in regen or how full your def tank is? I have a 2015 gmc lml it droves me nutz that i dont have a def guage.
it would be nice if all these monitor/ tuner companies would give you a obd2 connector that hooked up behind the mount and then you plug you old obd2 into it under the dash and then the other side could slide into the original mount and you could still use your obd2 if needed.. if this made sense haha i tried to explain it as easy as i could haha love the video though, you guys and gals are doing great love the content
They make y adapters to do that... many scanners, monitors, and OBD2 devices do not like to share the port and do not work well together, but I have CTS2 and an autosync from Ben Tyler diesel works and they are plugged in together in my lml and work most of the time together, but my scanner and CTS2 fight each other, and cause really odd gauge readings on CTS2
CTS2? When I have EOP pid located in the lower left corner of the screen. I remote unlock my truck the screen turns on, if I start the truck prior to the display turning off, the left center & left lower pid’s show only - - - (no label). Cause? Also the screen locks up from input touches but you get the acknowledgement beep. Do you have any thoughts on these two trouble items? Thank You
If it only requires an OBD2 port and then the CTS3 pulls the PID and available gauges and parameters, could you install this on any vehicle after 1996 with an OBD2 port?
In theory yes, or just get a Bluetooth OBDII module and connect to your phone. Use Torque or any number of apps to customize gauges. Would be $20 or less without a phone or tablet. Bonus if you had an android radio, it could display on there.
GM’s ect gauge is off. It will show 210 and stay there until it gets way hotter. (Actual temp. Is usually around 190-200). This is exactly why we buy monitors like the cts because it gives you a more accurate reading and will give you time to back off if needed rather than waiting until it’s too late. Best thing you can do is forget about the factory gauge and use the cts instead. No calibration needed.
Just ordered my CTS3 from Thoroughbred. Wondering how it tells me when my LML is in regen mode? Does it have an indicator or do I have to monitor EGT PIDS?
How do you power down the cts3 after shutting off the truck? 06 6.0. Not sure how to power the unit down, or does it stay on and the screen just times out being the OBDII always provide power? I shut my truck off and then went to clean the cts3 screen and then it turned back on and wouldn't shut off. I had to go into settings and change the timeout settings to 1 minute. Is there a way to power down the unit without disconnecting the obdII cable?
On my other truck I run a race me monitor and it has a feature where records the highes and I was wondering if the edge cts3 has that feature. It is not the record button.
I installed my cts3 on my 05 duramax yesterday, updated the software, and it won’t turn off when shutoff my truck. Is there an issue with my obd2 or with the cts?
And aswell if I bought a turbo kit will all new pipeing and air cleaner and turbo turbo pipieing and everything if I supplied the product would you all install it if I supplied the parts ?
On my first question i mentioned like the older model i have had tuner's going back to the original cs, all of them had average mpg or eco mpg, and all of a sudden not to have it . Do you have it on your's
Do these vin match? I just bought a 05 lly and wanted to pull it out and put it in my 06 lbz Can I just unplug it and put it in my 06 or do I need to restore/reset/un Marty it
What will it monitor? I know you said each brand of truck may have different gauges. Not much information on what it will monitor. Is there a 35 different gauges is there 12 different ones??
Will this monitor injector balance rates on Cummins pstroke and dmax? Buying a work truck soon and not sure what engine I’ll have to scan before purchasing it. Thanks
G'day from Australia. I upgraded from CTS2 to CTS3. The EAS temp sensor in my rear diff used to be able to read ºC but with the CTS3 I can now only read it in ºF. Do you guys know if there is anyway to alter this? It's doing my bloody head in!
Not all models are supported. Consult edgeproducts.com to see if this is supported for your year make and model. It will not change your speedo, but should give you corrected speed on the insight, again if supported.
Use efi live to flash your tunes to your pcm. Install the edge cts3 and purchase the adapter for it that edge also sells that allows you to switch your tunes from the cts3. It plugs into the expansion port on the cts3 obd cable. There are 2 pins that you must install into your pcm connector. Then select tuning on your cts3 screen and you can select your different tunes from there. I think you can also add a tune selector switch to your custom gauge layout so it's always on screen.
Troy Clawson On PPEI’s website it only offers this for LB7s and LLYs. I don’t know if there would be any way to do it on a LML but then again I haven’t really researched it. Best of luck to you on that.
So you start the truck with remote let it run for awhile go get in truck monitor will be on reading and functioning put the key in turn it to on/run monitor shuts off goes black screen and will stay black until you shut truck off and restart it with the key
Will it show the gears as it shifts? Or just P,R,N,D and bla bla bla on a 2018 chevy 3500 high country dually with the allison 6 speed. Aka allison 1000.

I bought one from you guys , comes in today

Love my new CTS3 on my 2015 LML
Glad you like it!
Hey dmax or thoroughbred, can it tell you if the truck is in regen or how full your def tank is? I have a 2015 gmc lml it droves me nutz that i dont have a def guage.
John V DELETE IT!!!! 😂
Hey just wondering if you can delete the truck with this tuner
Does it monitor / report REGEN status / performance? I have a 2018 L5P. Thank you.
Edge has taken away the specific platform attributes, but I THINK yes that this will display regen status for the L5P.
Easy peasy. BOOM. Yippee.

This is just a monitor, if you need the OBD port just unplug do what you need and plug it back in when you're finished. Or buy a Y adapter
How do you get to efi tunes? The cts2 just pulled down from the top, that’s no longer there.
im looking for this answer too, before i buy one...
"I'm trying to do this upside down" *makes dad noises*
CTS2?

So if I get one but already have a boost gauge will it still read on this because I would rather have the cts3 than all the gauges
If it only requires an OBD2 port and then the CTS3 pulls the PID and available gauges and parameters, could you install this on any vehicle after 1996 with an OBD2 port?

Question I had CTS2 on a different Duramax and it had average economy gauge I can't find it on the 3
Not all trucks support the fuel economy parameter.
Just installed mine.. 2019 2500hd
Ect will only read 180* dash reads 210*
Anyway to calibrate ?

Just ordered my CTS3 from Thoroughbred. Wondering how it tells me when my LML is in regen mode? Does it have an indicator or do I have to monitor EGT PIDS?
no
Could you possibly make a video of what all the PIDS are?!
No because it varies on every vehicle. If you go to Edge's site and put in your truck info you can see the PIDs available for your vehicle.
Are you able to put tunes on the cts3?
That what I’m wondering
How do you power down the cts3 after shutting off the truck? 06 6.0. Not sure how to power the unit down, or does it stay on and the screen just times out being the OBDII always provide power? I shut my truck off and then went to clean the cts3 screen and then it turned back on and wouldn't shut off. I had to go into settings and change the timeout settings to 1 minute. Is there a way to power down the unit without disconnecting the obdII cable?
Does anyone know if the CTS 3 will mount in my cts2 dash pillar on my Ram 2500?
It will
Can I run a straight pipe with this tuner?
This is not a tuner.
Does the monitor tell boost pressure in a lb7 2003 Chevy duramax ?
Yes
Another question if I bought a fass fuel system though you all would you all install it
And aswell if I bought a turbo kit will all new pipeing and air cleaner and turbo turbo pipieing and everything if I supplied the product would you all install it if I supplied the parts ?
Can I use this on
my current edge programmer attitude
To run the CTS 3, there are upgrades for some models. Just need to know what model Juice you have.
Can this read boost and rail pressure without having to buy the EAS?
Yes, on this example with a dmax you can read boost and rail pressure.
I can't wait to order mine! 👍🏻
Hope you enjoy it!
Will this display the fuel pressure on my 2002 duramax? Thanks
The CTS 3 I installed on my 2008 Duramax show what the fuel pressure demand is along with what is being supplied.
I just installed mine that came in today, installed updates and it still won’t turn off after 10 mins
With most other tuners you have to disconnect your aftermarket radio do you have to with this one?
did you order the edge evo cts3? if so than no you do not have to. atleast i did not have to on my LLY duramax
is the product CTS3 for diesel truck only ?
Just bought one and already having problems. Keeps freezing and tuning off . Also won’t connect to WiFi
Is the average mpg on this unit like the older model . I cant seem to find it . Any idea's
MPG is supported on some platforms but not all. Check your year make and model of truck with available PIDS at edgeproducts.com
On my first question i mentioned like the older model i have had tuner's going back to the original cs, all of them had average mpg or eco mpg, and all of a sudden not to have it . Do you have it on your's
So i have the CTS2 in my 16 3500hd, would I have to re-run the hdmi cable or can I just change the monitor out to the CTS 3??
You can just change the monitor
@@thoroughbreddiesel ....Sweet!!! I was hoping so. Thanks!!
Can you view fuel pressure on a 2002 7.3 powerstroke with the CT’s 3? I have one and can’t seem to find out how to get fuel pressure
You need to add a fuel pressure sensor, or a mechanical gauge. There is no factory way of checking pressure, besides hooking a gauge to the test port
Can you adjust up or down turbo vane position on this?
Is this a tuner as well or just monitor?
The Insight is just a monitoring device.
Can this read codes related to 4wd codes?
Do y'all sell those carhartt Thoroughbred Diesel shirts?
Not at this time.
Do these vin match? I just bought a 05 lly and wanted to pull it out and put it in my 06 lbz
Can I just unplug it and put it in my 06 or do I need to restore/reset/un Marty it
Unmarry*
With an Insight its not married to a truck, but once you plug it into the LBZ you will have to walk through what truck it is currently installed on.
Does this work on 2014 duramx
Yes.
What will it monitor? I know you said each brand of truck may have different gauges. Not much information on what it will monitor. Is there a 35 different gauges is there 12 different ones??
The most that you can monitor per screen is 16 pids at one time. Every truck is different as to the PID’s (or parameters) that you can observe.
my older dodge diesel 1998.5 not much in the computer how do I add egt and fuel pressure to the gage not in the vehicle computer.
You would have to ad EAS sensors to the mix in order to add those items.
Is this compatible for the LM2 3.0 Duramax? Thanks
The insight is not compatible with the 3.0 Dmax trucks yet. Coming soon!
Buy a real Duramax
Will this monitor injector balance rates on Cummins pstroke and dmax? Buying a work truck soon and not sure what engine I’ll have to scan before purchasing it. Thanks
Yes it will
Is there any way to log oil changes, air filter etc.?
There are different trip distances here that can be monitored, you could keep record of the trip vs the maintenance.
G'day from Australia. I upgraded from CTS2 to CTS3. The EAS temp sensor in my rear diff used to be able to read ºC but with the CTS3 I can now only read it in ºF. Do you guys know if there is anyway to alter this? It's doing my bloody head in!
Now you're indicating Temperature with the correct designation. 🙃
does anyone know if you can add your tire size on this? i got bigger tires and my speedometer is off i believe
Not all models are supported. Consult edgeproducts.com to see if this is supported for your year make and model. It will not change your speedo, but should give you corrected speed on the insight, again if supported.
I just got this one and my injector balance doesn't show up. Anyone else have this problem? It's a 2018 L5p
They may not be logging balance rates on the L5P’s yet. Hopefully coming in a next update.
Will this reprogram new injectors?
This is only a monitoring
Thanks man well done.
Does this show your fuel return rates for each injector?
No, it does not show fuel return rates but will show balance and flow rates.
Any word on when tunning will be available on the cts3? Would be interested in gettin my efi live on to it.
EFI Live doesn't go into the CTS3, but it should be able to switch the EFI Live tunes you have on your truck already.
@@2015_Rubicnn how does that work? I'm interested in getting this but don't understand how running it with efi live works
Use efi live to flash your tunes to your pcm. Install the edge cts3 and purchase the adapter for it that edge also sells that allows you to switch your tunes from the cts3. Can I up date my cts2 to a 3
We do not have any information on that yet.
Sure, just buy the new model
So this is just the monitor right? Not an evolution/tuner?
That is correct. They have not release tuning with the CTS3 at this time. Hope to see that very soon.
Thoroughbred Diesel same here
I wanna buy on e of those.....I live on the East Coast..Connecticut,do u know anyone out here that can install?
Trust me when I say that you can install this by yourself
I can get my CTS 3 to communicate with my 2001 F350 Powerstroke why
I can't get my cts3 to communicate with my 2001 F350 Powerstroke why I meant
Does it have a Trans relearn function
No, but that would be a nice feature!
Can it wifi image or connect to iPad Pro
Not yet.
Can you connect EFI Live to the CTS3? I know you could with the CTS2.
Yes
How do you do so? I have a ‘13 lml with efi live.
Troy Clawson On PPEI’s website it only offers this for LB7s and LLYs. I don’t know if there would be any way to do it on a LML but then again I haven’t really researched it. Best of luck to you on that.
Hi
So my CTS2 fouls out when I use my remote start on my lml have they fixed this issue with the 3
What do you mean by fouls out?
So you start the truck with remote let it run for awhile go get in truck monitor will be on reading and functioning put the key in turn it to on/run monitor shuts off goes black screen and will stay black until you shut truck off and restart it with the key
@@bear4800chevy If its ever off and you want it on tap the screen 5-6 times with your finger it will come on.
Can it wifi image or connect to iPad Pro
Will this monitor work on a 2016 ram 3500
Yea man it’s just a monitor it’ll work on any vehicle
Is I available for a 02 24v dodge?
Just a monitor will literally work on any vehicle
FYI, Tennessee Orange is R=247 G=127 B=0.
