    Thanks for another great video Charles. I had a CTS3 on my previous Duramax. Kept having the same issues you had so this time I went with the Banks iDash. It does have a more traditional round screen but does just about everything the CTS does. It's been bulletproof so far. I monitor the same parameters you do except Iprefer to see soot load in % rather than grams.

Iv been doing some research on gauges and really didn’t know which route to go and also I run an ELD and didn’t realize you could get a splitter and I would assume it would work that way. Thank You for making this video, I've got a lot to learn about the CTS3 system and this is a big help. I'd like to see something on being able to do special programming. even jail-breaking the system to be able to adjust Trans shift points, injection timing, with stuff like that you could program your truck to the way you drive. and someone who has put in the time could sell their wisdom to the community.

    Hey C Farmer. P026D is fairly common. Pull your MAP sensor out of the manifold. Replace it. It's like a $25.00 OE sensor. Get a S&B filters MAP sensor spacer. Clean the factory MAP and throw it in the glovebox as a spare.
    Stay safe out there.

    Great video. I have a 2005 LLY and installed the CTS3 about 18 months ago. Clearly the newer trucks monitor EGTs from the factory. Makes sence. Mine did not so had to buy and mount one separately. Probably my probe location but my EGT reacts much slower than yours. Pretty wild seeing you display 1400 degrees from bliping the throttle!
    For injector rates my limited understanding is that if they are within a range of 4 points high to low--- you are good, anything more starts indicating problems.
    Mine is also too quiet for alarm volumes....wish it were louder.
    It was also interesting to see the CTS3 load up different PIDs for your than mine. I had to ask the CTS folks, but PID stands for peramiter ID. It is information that the CTS is getting from the truck and displaying it. Mine doesn't get any def / regen stuff because the truck doesn't provide it. Mine does display engine oil pressure. EOP because the truck provides it. Might your gauge be displaying the way it does because of however GM programed your year of truck computer?
    I love Mine. Am glad to see it installed in a newer rig, coming soon for me. Thanks.

    • @CFarmer
      @CFarmer  2 года назад

      Thank you! Other than the volume so far no complaints. I really liked that i could crank the brightness up on the warning leds to compensate for the lack of volume. I'm still puzzled by not finding the eop. Convinced I'm looking in the wrong places.

      I have the original CTS for my 2005 LLY, but am getting ready to upgrade to my new CTS3 with a new EGT probe. I also bought the 0-5V adapter to use a fuel pressure sensor at the filter head to monitor lift pump pressure. I hope this new one is as rock solid as the OG unit. I have AFE exhaust manifolds on the way and new PPE up pipes ready to install. Anything for efficiency and lower EGTs.

    Noted that your CTS3 does respond a bit faster than the CTS2 I've been running. Been running the CTS line for years and they are handy, but the thing I wished Edge did was include the emissions readiness monitors. After a DTC clear or battery disconnect, some of those monitors can take a "long time" to reset. They are better than having nothing, indeed. Nice video nonetheless.

    Thanks for the video. I daily drive my duramax, and I have been considering the cts3 for a long time... I am going to pull the trigger next month I think. I get codes every once in a while and it annoys me that the trucks arent able to display what the code is on the screen on the dash. Not to mention the fact that we cant see all the parameters from the Factory is just annoying overall. Thanks again

    • @CFarmer
      @CFarmer  2 года назад

      Thank you! I agree 100%. As much as we give for these trucks we shouldn't have to add anything. All the emissions they push on us the last they could do is more monitoring options and a way to read/ clear codes.

    Great video brother! As far as the injectors I really don’t see an issue but my question is why a truck this new would be off that much on the injectors. I would look into it and see if they can get them closer however you mentioned replacing and injector so I’m thinking this truck has some miles on it possibly and just time to replace some injectors. I would run Diesel Clean through it about every 3rd tank and just see if it cleans up those injectors. It’s actually good stuff as well as the sea foam

      Today, i would buy it again. The only time i have any issues with it freezing up is if i push to many buttons too fast. It should be faster and smoother in my opinion when setting up and going through the menus (for the money). going down the road it seems to do exactly what i want. It's never frozen up on me while driving.
