    May I again commend you on your great Tesla channel. I have been using the Hansshow display for a while now in my Sep 2020 M3P, and have reached a conclusion on the best way to use it.
    First, the display really is a great addition, and a flick on the right wheel easily changes the display from CarPlay to Instrumentation where the extra information is helpful.
    However, the biggest problem of using CarPlay is if you set the Hansshow as the preferred device (to get the Hansshow audio though the car sound system, you disable the Tesla car phone feature and have to use the Hansshow CarPlay phone, which isn't as easy.
    What I've done is to set my iPhone as the default device, which still enables me to get the music on my USB and iPhone through the car system, and I can use the Tesla phone set-up.
    But, in CarPlay, I use Waze (as well as Tesla navigation), and I just get the Waze instructions through the Hansshow speakers.
    I'm happy with this as it gives me (almost) what I need.
    I'd be interested in anyone's comments who are using the Hansshow on how they use it.
    Thanks.... jpptubie

      Thanks for the feedback! Hopefully Hansshow can update the firmware to add a little more flexibility for the phone routing - or make a switch in the settings. Yes, it can be a bit frustrating.

      Hey @steven c - just posted similar comment. Hansshow gave me a firmware update, but the fix is to force calls through the display speaker, which is awful. I ended up un-pairing the display from my Tesla and use the Tesla UI for calls and texts, and CarPlay for the rest. Seems to be working ok

    • @TopShelfTesla
      @TopShelfTesla 2 года назад

      I should also add that if you are listening to music from the Tesla built in apps, instead of CarPlay, if you accept the call on this latest firmware via CarPlay, your music will not turn down/mute and you will have to manually lower the volume.

      When you are in cruise or AP, the right button will work as normal to adjust the speed. When you exit those modes, the wheel will control the screen. So while in AP, use the touch screen to change anything.

    Can I ask for some help please. I have found that using the phone either:
    I can answer a call on the Tesla and make a call using the Tesla screen, but the sound comes out of the Hansshow. I connect the car to the phone, not BT Link. OR
    If I want the call to go through the a Tesla speakers, I have to connect the car to BT Link but then I can only make calls using the Hansshow and I can’t use the Tesla screen to make calls or see my calendar.
    What I’d really like is to use the Tesla screen to make calls, see my calendar on the Tesla and have the phone calls routed to the car speakers. Essential to be able to use Waze at the same time.
    Thanks.

    Hey, excellent video, subbed! One question - I have been going back w hansshow on this, and they have provided me 2 software updates since, but their fix is not sufficient.
    Since installing about 2 weeks ago, while the screen is paired to my Tesla and is priority device, every caller I speak to complains about echo and call issues.
    Have you encountered this? What is your phone call experience? Are you handling calls through car play?
    The update hansshow provided adds a feature in the display settings to force phone calls through the display speaker, which is their fix for the call quality issues when paired to the Tesla.
    Not a good work around at all, but wondering if you have experienced this issue?

    • @MTNRanger
      @MTNRanger  2 года назад

      I don't use the Carplay for answering calls so I haven't experienced any echo. Another commenter has this issue. I contacted Hansshow about updates when I got the unit, but they said there were none. How did you get the updates?
