I'll be buying more Omega. They allocated an Ed White 321 to me. No waitlist on a great Seamaster I purchaesd. They provide better specs than 2x the price you'll spend elsewhere. The brand has always been loyal to ME and offer great value and quality. On the other hand, my AD where I bought a nice $13k Cartier watch for my wife over a year and half ago still can't allocate shit to me. Another AD where I bought a Tudor GMT never called again when I wanted a Sub (3 years ago). Fuck Rolex. Omega just put on a masterclass in marketing for the brand.
Just another example of Omega/Swatch Group making a joke of themselves with that botched release. You would have thought they would have learned a thing or two after the Omega Snoopy 50th anniversary fiasco where they overpromised and underdelivered, leaving thousands upon thousands of punters who left significant deposits rotting away in the ADs accounts with no hope in sight to get their desired watches. Any time you think this company seems to have something good going on for them, they always manage to muck it up somehow. And you know this ''mission'' is not going to be the end of it, the Swatch group is salivating right now and there is no reason why they won't repeat this ''collaboration'' (more like coercion) on other Omega prestigious collections. A sad state of affairs for a brand desesperatly trying to catch up to the Crown in marketshare and desirability.
This is crazy. Watching the disaster of an event unfold in real time around the world was something else! Fortunate to be in Ohio, far away from the Swatch boutiques 😆
People need to take a step back and relax. This release is bold and fun. If value retention stresses you out this might not be the right hobby for you or your assets are too heavily weighted in watches. Besides you should wait a moment before you freak out about prices. Give it some time ffs.
People who are paying over retail are believing in the greater fool theory, I say let them. If genuine watch enthusiasts are then they must truly believe the product is worth what they are paying...
Having just sold my Speedmaster 1683 a few days ago with the possibility of buying a 3863 further down the line. It certainly feels like Omega releasing the recent blatant Rolex copycats plus MoonSwatch, it feels like the brand is devalued.. …I’m beginning to wonder if I even want to get another Omega now.
Omega has never reached this level of publicity for a long time.

I am looking to sell my AT 41 once my Rolex Exp 2 comes in. 2022 is the downfall of Omega brand. I rather own a Tudor than Omega now.
