      @echoecho540 4 года назад +12

      Agreed. I designed and built some electronics using the CR2032 and to ensure people can easily get batteries for the device I checked all the local stores for availability. At least here in Australia, every supermarket, convenience store, petrol (gas) station, auto store, hardware store, chemist/pharmacy, etc. all sold them. Other benefit is they're lithium primary so they last a long time sitting around and no dreaded leaking like alkaline batteries.

    The proprietary battery and battery chargers suck. In 2018, I bought my mom a portable oxygen concentrator that was only 3 lbs. I got it on sale for $2,300 (normally $2,500). Expensive, but it was worth it because it was light enough for my mom to move around with. But what really bothered me was the price of extra batteries. An extra "single battery" good for about 2 hours was $300 and a "double" 4 hour battery was $500. An external charger was $300. After a surprise 3" of snow paralyzed NYC the week before Thanksgiving and my mom and I were stuck in a cab for 8 hours trying to get home after a doctors appointment, she bought 2 of the double batteries. Last summer she was rehabbing in a nursing home and it became inconvenient to charge the batteries in the machine and I broke down and bought her the external charger. It worked pretty well for a couple of weeks. Unfortunately she ended up in the hospital not long after and passed away a few weeks later. The silver lining is that my family was able to be with her. If she had been hospitalized 6 months later we wouldn't have been able to visit her. Now I have a portable O2 concentrator, extra batteries and an external battery charger but haven't been able to find anywhere to donate them, much less sell them.

    This is my new favorite channel related to LMG. Why? I don't use cameras, I don't know what F-stops are or anything like that, I don't even understand half the things being said in this video. But I absolutely love the passion. Every time I see a video on this channel it's not so "professional". It feels like the person in the video is having *fun*. And to me, that's what's most important. Unfortunately the shitty clickbait titles and thumbnails are still on this channel, but they aren't nearly as bad as LTT, or... *shudder* the absolutely disgrace that Techquickie and Techlinked are. So I love this channel much more.
    I love Linus but seeing those who actually enjoy and have a ton of experience with products is just really nice to watch. It's like how I love watching when Anthony is in a video. He isn't really too funny, but the dude knows exactly what every word he's spitting out means. I don't care for linux, but I watched his videos with great interest because he's passionate about it. And I wish that feeling was felt more in the other LMG channels. Also with less shitty cheap clickbait.

    I work in camera sales here in the UK and I actually appreciate that manufacturers aren't including an external charger block with every camera by default.
    For a start, if they did it would just be factored in to the price anyway, pushing the RRP up. So the complaint of how much the charger costs is not completely reasonable.
    Secondly, the VAST majority my customers who buy compact cameras from us genuinely don't miss the external charger and are more than happy with 'charging it like you do a phone.'
    Third, it cuts down SO drastically on e-waste! Seriously, you'd be HORRIFIED at just how chock full our spares drawers are with spare chargers.
    Now... To contradict myself a bit, I will say that for a camera that is aimed directly at video over photography, which is very battery intensive (especially in 4k), I do think that with this model they SHOULD include an external charger, maybe at least with the vlogger kit (spare battery would go amiss either). The biggest downside is that the NP-BX1 batteries are horrendous and drain like a mothertrucker. In real life situations, you'll be swapping that battery out after 35-45 mins of filming. I get that they chose that battery to reduce the size of the camera, but I can imagine a LOT of vloggers would appreciate a slightly larger grip and the NP-FW50 battery found in the a6000 range.

    I know that it's advertised as a blogging camera, but I would rather get a used a6300 with the kit lens for $550 and then a Takstar sg-598 or some other budget-friendly microphone. I know you wouldn't be able to see yourself, but you could always cast the viewfinder to your phone and use your phone as an external monitor. An APS-S sensor vs a 1-inch sensor is night and day (just like full-frame vs APS-C). Also, I just couldn't live with a max shutter of 1/2000th of a second on the Sony ZV-1. Also, the Sony a6300 has a viewfinder and is much more photography-friendly while also having the same video functionality (minus the advanced video stabilization, although the SteadyShot is okay most of the time). The sony E-mount allows for a versatile amount of lenses along with great functionality for cheaply converting older camera lenses to the E-mount. It's just my opinion, but I think that even a vlogger should go for something like the sony a-series cameras because they are, at the moment, the best price to performance.

    Great camera and always happy to see brandon reviewing camera stuff ^^
    I personally really dont like sideways flipout screen. Imagine you want to take a quick low or high picture. you have to flip out the screen, rotate it, take the pic, rotate it back and flip it in. With the normal sony one i just have to pull it out and angle it a bit and i can take pics from low or high angles.
    Also with screens on the side the person recording himself often looks to the side not on the top. Looking up or over the camera looks more natural and like thinking about what to say or do.
    My personal choice would be the standard sony tilt up/down mechanism but with 180° up and 180° down range and that mounted on a big hinge to rotate it out to the side if needed. I really liked the older Sony mechanism on the a77I/II or a99I/II. It had two parallel hinges and one rotating hinge and was able to be visible from every side

    What a shame there aren't any Sony Style stores left. I used to frequent the one in Manhattan. Their unlimited hands-on policy and incredible sales specialists made researching and shopping a great experience. I bought way too many Sony products because of this.
