Me who has no idea about photography:
"Ah not using type B. Such a rookie mistake. Shame"
ha same lololol
shame
I'm a photographer and I don't understand half the stuff he is saying, cinema cameras are well beyond my understanding xD
That's like if there weren't enough usb cable and they go with a new proprietary nano usb cable 😂
Me, who knows some stuff- whelp, that combo slots are quite clever and are a selling point for people who used mirrorless/dslrs for shooting video and want something more videocentric to add to the mix.
No, don't ask them to hide the greyed out options. Instead, ask them to be able to select the greyed out options and have the camera say "this is only in mode xx, do you want to switch to this mode?" or something in that line of thought.

@Scott M Because they have to make the device useable for the dumbest possible consumer
They can't do anything that would require even a single knowledgeable decision
@@stitchfinger7678 This is a pro-grade camera. Their operators are not your average consumer that doesn't know the difference between LAN and WIFI.
he did say that later on
@@stitchfinger7678 wait, this camera ain't for consumers, it's for prosumers
I don't know where you would host it, maybe Techquickie, but i would love to see Brandon go through how to set up a camera and how to take a great shot or clip. Or a new channel with a once or twice a week release. How to set up lighting, framing, aperture, shutter speed, composition, white balance, colour balance. Even if it started by micing up your camera team and asking them to explain how they are setting up a shot. I feel like you have a unique combination of skills, talent and audience to make it work.
I understood each word in that list less and less as it went on
Its called cinematography and it takes time and experience to learn it
Brandon's is not that good. There are better camera guys online
@@edwardelric717 So? Of those who have a ready made audience? Of them who have a writing team to back them up? Or an editing team? Or the option to play with a huge range of cameras?
This video has 200k views and I'm sure its not the best review of this camera. Charisma, format, writing, editing plus shooting a great quality clip all tend to speak louder than just knowing your craft.
Also, who cares don't you think it would be a great series/channel?
@@ohnonomorenames there is already loads of good videographers who make content and most of them have a small viewerbase because most people don't want to watch it. Like look at PotatoJet, dude is a joke in a film industry, people constantly meme about him and he is successfully because he doesn't talk about cinematography he talks about gear and videography for RUclips and channels that are touching on subjects more focus on lighting and film cinematography are just on a side.
This is like Christmas for Brandon lol.
Omg it's at 69 likes pls nobody ruin this
Soon it will be Christmas for... Everyone.
@@alasdairmaciver2964 too late :(
@@MaazAltaf I know it's so sad
Shrek is correct. Christmas for Brandon comes every time that he gets a new camera
half of linus tech tip budges goes to this guy "buying new cameras"
Because you can totally tell the difference on youtube 😂
He must have a dossier with incriminating evidence against Linus. Half the budget goes to cameras.
this'd have been sent over by sony (probably)
y'all don't know what review units/sponsorships are do you?
True
All of Brandon's videos should just be called "OMG MOM AND DAD THIS IS THE BEST CHRISTMAS GIFT EVERRRR", (lovingly hugs Linus and Yvonne with tears of joy in his eyes) 😂
Lmao
I don't understand a thing about cameras but love Brandon talking about them
Thank you for giving words to what I was feeling.
These make me realize how little I know about cameras. There's so much to them I kinda wanna learn..
Yes, the same how I feel
I UNDERSTAND THE WORD SONY ALL THE TIME.. 😭
@@BrokenArrowX it took me almost 2 years to learn everything about cameras, enjoy!
That autofocus made my jaw drop. Well done Sony. Bravo!

Shortcircuit:(Brandon) Why is Sony using A type cards??
Amen
@starshipeleven yo are you high, there is a big difference, the iPad has a touch screen as well that the "pro" macbooks don't have
Lol who's crazy for that crap!
@starshipeleven I was memeing dude
apple hates ltt man, they won't send any review sample because ltt tell us the truth
MKBHD is a phone guy. I would assign zero importance to his reviews of gaming consoles and laptops
All of those fully exposed sensors just hanging out is making me sweat.
Once i took the lens off of a friends camera and left the sensor exposed while i searched for the tele. ONCE
@@agushernan8386 That’s scary!
It's fine, these sensors arent placed very deep into the body so dust wont hang out in there. It's easily blown off by compressed air or wiped of with a sensor wipe.
@@rickmaassen2019 Never use compressed air on these sensors! Use a rocket blower. Also mirrorless sensors are prone to dust since there is no mirror. I get a lot more dust compared to dSLR so I hold it upside down and quickly swap. But I think my a7R III is deeper than this one.
@@2nd-place of course you can, Just dont do it from 1 cm away. If you Just blow from like half a meter, the whole gate gets cleaned
Everybody:APPLE M1
Linus/shortcircuit:camera
What kind of joke is that
@@user-ejxomyq - I think he means there's something Apple coming, but instead they're checking out a camera.
Apple doesn't send them review products. They have to buy them on their own. So, their reviews are late.
@@user-ejxomyq The joke is that literally the only contact LTT has ever had with Apple was "we won't fix your iMac Pro no matter how much you pay us" and "tell us where you got that DTK from so we can sue the shit out of your source".
They are literally the only tech company that won't talk to LTT. They've read their mails, hell even passed them around internally, but never replied. It's amazing that Linus still manages to cover Apple products with any amount of impartiality (even if he's a little late to the party).
Much better
"If a camera was a football.. This camera!"
Brandon Yeet Tips confirmed
Love the camera reviews. Gotta love the varied videos👍
Brandon asserting his dominance as the most expensive LMG employee LMAO
Looks good, nice quick shoots at the end there.
Love these camera unboxings. Keep them coming.
Nobody:
Absolutely nobody:
Linus: Watercool it
It doesn’t need it at all since it doesn’t over heat, but ok.
Watching these camera videos takes me back to when I was new to desktop computers, lot of the things were unknown, and made it exciting to learn about. Only difference here, professional camera gear is not something I'll ever get into, so it'll forever be exciting lol
That ending footage looks so good! I love BrandonCameraTips.
That variable ND filter is such a killer feature. I want it on everything!
yessss another video about video cameras, these are my favorites
Entire wholesomeness of LTT is Brandon and Anthony in ShortCircuit.
Can Brandon do a camera round up for noobs? Maybe target price points for content creation.
Are you guys considering doing a camera round up on the LTT channel? Comparing all the cameras that came out this year against each other.
Brandon is just a genuine dude who loves photography
You guys do some of the best videos on RUclips on all your channels. I like Brandon's camera reviews, some more affordable cameras would be good also. Maybe some more videos on LTT showing us how to get the most out of these cameras also?
You really have good staff linus. I don't know all of them, but all the guys i see in your content always do a great job. Kudos to your human resource department, i guess, for having a keen eye for the right persons. Great job guys, can't wait for the next one.
Yes, another camera video with Brandon! I'm not into cameras as much, but he speaks with such passion, I just have to see those videos!
I don't own a standalone camera, nor am I interested in photography, but I still appreciate videos like these. Great job Brandon.
Everyone knows LTT doesn't need this, but linus was yet again was tricked by Brandon in buying 'his' new camera
he didnt buy it? look at the packaging lmfao
brandon said send i thinks its probably a review product
Dude, almost everything on this channel is sent by the manufacturer to LTT for review or unboxing, they don't buy all that stuff. I would guess if you buy a new camera it won't be sent in a cardboard box
@@albertbezdek6055 yea i also remember when linus vlogs its all review product its up to brand if they want it back or not. mostly they don't.
Yeah this is a review unit that they have to return. A few other creators were sent them.
The test shots look amazing. :O
I live up the road from the pub in the B role at the end. Love it!
It's an amazing little video cam! The quality of video is unbelievable!
What a beast the FX6 💪🏼😉 🎥 really cool review and awesome footage 😀 i think this could be my new cam 👍🏻
Nice to see timecode in on a standard BNC unlike the FS7 with the only timecode input on an 'optional' battery plate.
I see new Brandon Camera Tips, I upvote. These are my favorite videos.
That B-roll footage is just stunning. 😃
Great review, should be on main channel not shortcircuit, this definitely isn't short :)) But keeps us interested all the time, so great job! I'm not a photographer or cinematographer of any kind, but as a tech nerd I was very impressed with the review, as always when Brandon reviewed a camera or shooting/photo tool/accessory of any kind... Great job once again ! ;)
I immediately recognized Taran by the end of this video, very good editing and music choice.
Type A fits in the same size slot as an SD card and makes more sense as you can use the same cards from your a7siii (and maybe an a6600 successor in future) all the way up to the fx9. They're fast enough for any sensible use case anyway
"IT FITS IN THE PALM OF MY HAND!"

I plead for the day somebody can make a joke on RUclips without an army of "UMMM ACTUALLY'S" coming to simp

Linus Shot Tips?
@@kaldo_kaldo Brandon Shot Tips
The videos at the end are so surreal
The use of CF Type A is because the a7S3 also uses Type A (for size considerations). That way someone can use both SD or CFE Type A across those two cameras.
Whenever I see showcases of super high-end camcorder style cameras like this, it just makes the A7SIII look more impressive.
Any update on how the Ursa Mini 12k is working for you all? I'm VERY curious to see a workflow video with that camera or even an updated Davinci Resolve/Adobe Premiere battle using the Ursa 12k footage and how much better or worse it is than the R3D files you all normally work with.
Love Brandon (camera) reviews!!!
Hope you guys do a review for this!
CF Type A makes a lot of sense for this, because it will be paired with A7 S III in lot of scenarios which uses same cards... S III doesn't have space on it for Type B...
It would be cool to see on next FX9 or FS cameras dual slot, but not CF A and SD like this has, but combined CF A and CF B if it's possible... so you could either use big cards like on other cameras, or small ones you use on this and in mirrorless
Great video ! Got my FX6 last week.Could i record to a Atomos Ninja ? I have a lot of SSD media for the Atomos. It would save me a fortune if i could use those and not have to invest in expensive CF Express cards
Now I'm imagining Linus playing football with the camera.
And fumbling it, of course.
I love watching these videos. He's such a great host. Just sucks that I don't understand more than half the things he says because I don't know much, if anything, about photography/videography/cameras. Can we have a series explaining stuff about cameras?
Missed this guy ❤️
Video idea: Do a tutorial style video where you expain "basic" camera terms like stops, shutter, etc. I think many of the viewers (like me) enjoy the videos about cameras but dont have the knowledge to properly understand the specs. I can also imagine there would be some companies interrested in sponsoring this kind of video.
I love you Brandon keep up the nice work!
Man I wish Brandon reviewed the Xperia 1ii or 5ii. I'd love to see him talk about the pro camera tools in those phones.
I'm not a camera guy by a long way but I love watching Brandon doing this type of stuff
Please do more camera gear related videos!
I found these segments by Brandon on Cameras so helpful in understanding why cameras like REDs and Sonys and such are big deals and why people spend money on them. They way he explains things help laymen understand how important some things are.
I like Brandon's camera reviews. I am not shocked that he said what he said about Sony cameras. I used to shoot only Sony only and I know the menus well. Thankfully it hasn't changed. (:
I don't really take that much pictures but gotta love Brandon going through nice camerad
I get the 'documentary vibes' from Brandon's voice + the video sample.
You guys should do some budget action camera reviews. Compare the Go Pro to Akaso and Campark or Xi .
Those slo-mo clips make Brandon's narration sounds like motivational words
Brandon can we hear your thoughts on Sony Xperia 1 II (mark 2)?
I got to be the 8000th thumbs up and thats pretty special for a special video. Great work Brandon!
Not a huge thing but would it be possible to integrate metric weight? Especially with cameras it is kinda importent and pausing the video to google it is just a hassle. I liked the switching modes on the scale approch from previous videos. Besides that great Video.
Brandon, where's the review of the Venice and the other cameras you unboxed? Would really like to see them even though I can't buy any of it.😅
I love Brandon videos. He doesn't tell a lot of jokes and that's sometimes refreshing.
I love camera reviews, even if I can't buy them!
I love the camera content! :D
More camera reviews please.
Hey Brandon any chance of a Canon R5 unboxing/review?
I took automatically recorded audio for granted, with the 120/240 Hz settings, in my Sony FDR x3000.
This is literally a HUGE reason why I lean towards Sony. ...do I want to record audio separately, and match it up, or do I just want the recorded audio already matched up?
The variable ND on the FS5 mk. 2 is a godsend for newsshooting, especially in areas like arenas that have annoying lighting
You guys should make a video like hardware unboxed's video explaining monitor settings but for cameras.
Just quickly go through each setting and what they do.
If your gonna keep reviewing cameras anyway
Actually the recess of the shutter ISO and WB buttons is a good thing. those historically are only use to switch auto (at least since the FS100). in that's been an annoyance.
Im almost blind and will never have any use for a camera like this but just watching Brandon excited makes me want to call my bank to get a loan and buy one. Good job my dude!
All these video cameras this year must have Brandon absolutely loving his job
11:05 record indicator starts flashing in beat with background music ;)
brandon on short circuit? it’s a must watch!
I really wanna see the LMG camera and studio setup
Isn't the a7s3 a 3:2 12MP and the FX6 is a DCI 10MP? Can you confirm the physical aspect ratio of the sensor?
The sensor on fx6 does not have the green tint like it was on the a7s3 so they might use a better batch of the same sensor on fx6 and the rest for a7s3.
Brandon and Anthony should do more videos linus is great but his company has to keep growing to more than just him and what he can do alone
Hes discussed that several times on Wan show I think. He likes the idea of being able to step back. Completely agree and would love to see more of people like Brandon and Anthony. Sadly it seems RUclips Still pushes Linus videos harder..
@@matthews8580 as much as I love seeing others on the show I still enjoy having linus being there and hosting some stuff but I think it great that he's built his company so it's not completely dependent on him
Are you guys gonna test out the Canon C70 too? It seems like you have a lot of EF lenses so the EF to RF Super35 speed booster seems like a cool thing for you to try out.
Brandon I wish you spend more time in front of the camera. I know cameras are your jam. But i think it's time to expand your horizons 😉 great video as always
Thank you Brandon. I have the FS5 and I've spent 4 years editing out the horrible yellow green tinge out of everything.
It is just awful in mixed lighting situations. How does the FX6 compare.
When is the full 12k black magic review coming to ltt?
That viewing hood looks like a small version of the Speed Graphix I used to own.
when is the watercooled version of this camera coming out?
I think the cfexpress type A compromise is fair because the SD cards fit in the same slot
It might be the same sensor, but that doesn't mean it's the same ADCs or image processors (not the main one, the smaller ones).
Brandon and Anthony make this channel great
"Type B is bigger than Taipei"
Small Sony cam shots lookin 1000 times better on my 4 k TV on Yt than HD TV from my cable provider ever will. Nice
In the part with the lens and I know that some videos they show a smaller lens than that one
i love how depending on the product, the person who is propably using it, is unboxing it
They've reached the UHS-II limit but they don't want a big card (CF-E type B) so they go type A. Proprietary is not great though..
I like that Sony has opted for keeping a lower resolution(laughable to call 4k low resolution). I would much prefer a 4k video camera that has or is near global shutter than a 8K+ video camera with rolling shutter issues. I like being able to point a camera out a car window without all the verticals looking slanted. Still wish that the cameras would also allow for ultra high frame rates beyond what most would consider usable for cinema work. 1000fps+ at 360p is absolutely usable for diagnostic work. For years I had a point and shoot that supported 1000fps at 120p and that was very useful for tuning mechanical parts or diagnosing issues.
