I find it kinda odd that a Lens Company would make a camera with a non-removable lens! What?!? It's like they don't want to sell more of their own products. Very weird
An interchangeable lens system would require a lot of expenditure and have to compete with far more established brands. Developing a new lens mount is extremely costly, and then they have to make new lenses. Even though Zeiss makes lenses for Canon EF, Sony E, Fuji X, and a Leica M, a Zeiss camera using any of those mounts would a. force them to pay licensing fees to those companies (except for Leica M) and b. still have to compete with Canon, Sony, Nikon etc. Ironically, a fixed lens luxury camera is likely the most cost effective way for Zeiss to enter the digital camera market. Nobody will be shooting birds diving in to water @ 35mm anyways. For the vast majority of photography you’ll get by at 1/500 and won’t need to exceed 1/1000. The 1/2000 top speed is probably one of the least problematic things about this camera imo
@@negat1v1ty the high shutter speeds are useful when using wide apertures for shallow depth of field in full sunlight. Fujifilm built a 3 or 4 stop neutral density filter in their x100 series cameras to get around the more limited shutter speeds.

@Hype Break Definitely not if the person fills the same field of view. Wider lenses distort more if the subject is framed in the same proportion as a more narrow lens, so visually make a person look more bloated. But definitely, 35mm lenses aren't normally used for portraits in planned photoshoots or studio settings.
@Hype Break that’s backwards. There’s a rather crude joke in the photography world that you should never shoot a model with a lens shorter than xxx mm, where xxx is their weight in pounds. Longer lens are slimming and generally make people look “better.”
Shutter Speed is for more than just capturing fast subjects. It's also a sudo ND filter while shooting high ISO in daylight. Many people think you should be shooting a low ISO outdoors, and high ISO in the dark. But it's actually the opposite. shoot low ISO in the dark, and high ISO in sunlight. Raising the ISO also raises the noise floor in the shadows, and collects more information in the highlights. This is absolutely essential during air shows. Those are extremely bright photos. I set my shutter pretty high along with my ISO. It really helps to bring out the details in the highlights of clouds (If you're lucky to have clouds), and the glare of the glossy aircraft. Even shots flying in front of the sun.
The Dropbox integration makes sense to me, but adding other cloud file services as well would be good. If you're camera is syncing your raw photos to the cloud in your hotel or when you get home, you have an easy backup of your data, and you can set it to automatically download to your PC ready for desktop editing.

Leaf shutters are great in walk-around and studio cameras because of their high flash sync speed. The Fuji X100V can do flash sync at 1/4000 sec. Hasselblads can do 1/2000 sec. This one, for some reason, can only do 1/1000, but that's still pretty high.

One advantage of a leaf shutter is that you can use a flash at high shutter speeds. The fujifilm x100v can use a flash at 1/2000s, which lowers the amount of sunlight by 3 stops compared to focal plane shutter cameras at 1/250s without dimming the flash's light much.

ISO, aperture and shutter dials is a dream come true. So many camera companies hide ISO in a menu for some reason and it slows things down. $6k is a stack of cash but this could be the start of a Leica rival.

He stole office material. In particular a 1000+ chair.
I know nothing about cameras or photography, but I enjoyed the video.
ISO, aperture and shutter dials is a dream come true. So many camera companies hide ISO in a menu for some reason and it slows things down. $6k is a stack of cash but this could be the start of a Leica rival.
Imagine beeing on a toilet, playing games on your camera
That's kind of what phones are with just many more functions. This 'phone' just has a big camera bump. :P
@@happinessiskey2858 well if you think of it that way...
@@filenotfound__3871 haha, I’m mostly joking.
@@happinessiskey2858 But you are right, kinda...
@@filenotfound__3871 That’s why I’m *mostly* joking.
Well, you could get an a7iii with a pretty ok lens and an good speced xps15 for 6000$, just saying...
That’s what most people would do. This here is just a toy for rich enthusiasts.
Well if it is made in Germany you know why it costs so much. Apart from the quality control there are the higher wages than for cameras made in china
Zeiss was actually founded in my home town Jena in Germany. Fun fact: a daughter company of Zeiss called Schott produces screen glass for Smartphones. Pretty much all non Gorilla glass phones are using them.
Seeing this camera finally come out makes me really hope Sony get's going on the RX1R III.
Me: Can't afford a $600 camera
Also me: Watches a video about a $6000 camera
Sensor looks extremely noisy at 400 ISO.. Unless Brandon added that grain in Lightroom.
@@theElemDragon yeah my thoughts exactly. I have 1200D which I think is a Rebel T4 (idk exactly), and that's the kind of grain that it shows at around ISO 6400. Either Brandon really pushed the grain slider all the way out (which... Why would you do that during a camera review?) or the sensor performs terribly under anything but the best lighting conditions.
My reaction to "they designed the sensor in house" was... surely they just got Sony to make them one to spec? But seeing that noise....
Me, a Leicaphile: oh, $6k sounds like a good deal lmao
"BUT BEFORE THAT..." I gave my full concentration and never been very disappointed the whole day lol, 1:14.
Wow the portray of Taran looks really good!!!

The caption says, " so you can wirelessly transfer your photos to your ass"😂
Mine says "transfer your photos from this camera to an ass or dropbox"

nice
"If you're trying to get a shot of a bird diving into water, this is probably not the camera for you"
Me who knows absolutely nothing about photography: Wow. That's a lame camera.
His behavior remind me when i buy an over priced item🔥😭😂
The camera feels like it could work in a very niche setup.
You don't even need to know them for their cameralenses. They also make superb lenses for your glasses.
