I think that this camera is great for events where they don't let you get mirrorless cameras into, like music festivals, or clubs. It's like the perfect camera when you hit the road and don't want the attention you would get from walking around with a mirrorless cam with a lens.
Saw other reviews of this today and by far I always prefer Jared’s reviews because dude is honest and the key point of investing in a camera is true I would rather vlog with my phone and invest in a real camera that can grow as time goes on because $800 for something that you can’t really grow with would suck
Front facing smartphone cameras are much much worse when compared to this. The main point of this camera is the size/quality balance. Many people value small size because of the ease of use it provides. I used to shoot a lot with Ricoh GR. It's great for landscape, travel, street and documentary if you are OK with the fixed lens limitation. Because it is so small, you can carry it around everywhere in a bigger pocket. It results in many more pictures taken. It's also not intimidating in comparison to bigger cameras. I took it everywhere all the time and took a ton of great photos. It has to be experienced to understand. GR's main fault was the autofocus. (I have recently bought Fuji X-T100 at a great price. I won't go into specific reasons, but I was very disappointed in how heavy it is! It's a bloody brick and it's just an entry level model. Definitely not a carry everywhere camera..) ZV-1 promises to offer a lot of the same as GR, but with a stellar autofocus. Not everyone wants to use this purely for vlogging. I suspect that many future owners want to take great photos too. This camera is much cheaper than RX100 models with the same autofocus performance and it also offers better video/audio capabilities and arguably a better flipout screen. Of course not everyone will appreciate THIS particular combination of features, but for me it's almost a perfect camera. Ideal for travel/documentary photography or video. I could use a smartphone, but I just need a certain RAW quality in my images. 1" sensor is about as low as I would comfortably go..
@@PeterKoperdan I dont think anyone cares about quality in vlogging videos unless it is really bad. I can assure you iphone 11 better video capability than this thing at least for vlogging...
I've been saying for years now that a nice smartphone with a wide-angle lens and an osmo grip would be a fantastic option. & as you upgrade your cellphone, you essentially get a new camera with it
I have tried two units and both of them filtered the noise of the focus motor in the audio of the videos. And I'm not talking about the Zoom, but about the AF. And it's funny because I've seen many reviews and no one talks about this issue.
Saw Jason Vong Zv1 video first and thought wow great camera sony, after watching yours Jared very well detailed and held nothing back as far as pros and cons go. Great job my guy and be safe 🙏🏻🙏🏻
I had the same watch sequence also, I was also getting excited after Jason's words only to get an eye-opener from Jared. I guess they really need to have a wider lens in this cam. I guess a6400 might be a better option if size doesn't matter.
the polarized glasses interaction depends on both the QA of the glasses and the QA of the camera screen. Some manufacturers don't always have the polarizing filter lined up perfectly (both camera and glasses). It could be that it's your specific camera and other zv-1's are unaffected, but if they're all like that.... yikes.
I Noticed Every Single video with "Best Vlogging Camera" in the title Except Jared's 100% Fair review unlike everyone And People Said he was Paid By Sony
Know what this video has in the title? Needless caps and excessive punctuation. Both that and "best vlogging camera" are just to get the algorithm to not bury the video. Friendly reminder that blanket statements are inherently wrong, too.
Jared, you are hands down one of the best camera reviewers out there. Just like photos, reviews are best raw LOL. I appreciate that you are using the camera that you are reviewing. Its crazy how many channels don't do this. I'm thinking about getting this for my flight reviews. Space is a big issue on aircraft, especially when I do economy class reviews. Looking to upgrade from my iPhone X that I currently use.
We have this camera, we did a video on it, the whole not being able to use sunglasses def hurts, and on ours the screen goes dark when it gets warm.. not sure how to fix that.
I shoot video professionally with Sony mirrorless (A7iii) and am not a vlogger. I just got my ZV-1 today. I purchased it because I like having a "pocket" camera for just everyday rando video stuff (and vacations, if it's ever safe to travel anywhere in the future). The features that appealed to me were the stellar autofocus (with eye AF), a flip out screen (as opposed to the traditional Sony "tip up" screen) for easy high and low angle shots and the excellent color and image quality in such a portable body. I'll also probably use it for b-roll stuff on work projects. The 24-70 is fine with me because I don't plan to turn it towards myself and walk down the street anytime soon...even though, I realize that's who this camera is being marketed to. I guess you'd say it's going to be my "toy" camera.
your the only review that compared it to the real competition for this camera, canon m50. I have no idea why not one other review compared to anything else. It had all the information I wanted and I'll pass on this camera and get a "real" camera. Thankyou!
Thanks for a very honest video. I’ve been looking for a secondary/STUPID SIMPLE camera for on the go and conventions. Low profile, turn on and go type of thing As I’m NOT a camera guy. I’ve been looking at this one, and I like a lot about it, except the small dang view.
I had about 7 different notifications from RUclips channels on this camera, which all came in within about 1 minute, obviously timed to sync with the end of a publishing embargo from Sony, and this was the most informative, somehow obnoxious, yet entertaining review. Excellent. Excellent. Jared may be like marmite, you either love or dislike, him, but you cannot argue about the quality of his content, valuable, straight to the point. Well done, Excellent balanced review
The worst part, if they had the polarisation in the vertical instead of horizontal it would be even better, because the glasses would block other light but let ALL the screen come through.
Honestly Jared has the realest reviews, extremely hard and sophisticated and a lot of what he says wouldn’t affect the “regular” shooter, but even so, I think it’s best to know EVERYTHING, to spend money on anything! Great job!
Totally agree Jared. Can’t look at that over-$1200 price (up here in Canada, eh?), and not look at something that will let you do a lot lot more: like the m50, m6 ii, or any small camera that lets you get wider than 24mm. The m50 in your video is not much bigger than that camera at all... it’s way cheaper, and you can swap lenses. As you know very well, the tinier and lighter the camera, the harder it is to get stable footage handheld, which is what most ‘vloggers’ do. Plus, regardless of 4K or not, it’s a 1” sensor. That’s less than MFT, and the m50 is APSC. That will matter indoors. Or in lower light. I’ll take the better lens options, and larger sensor over tiny sensor 4K all day. We also need to keep in mind that audiences (90% plus) are watching the videos on their phones in HD or lower res. At some point shooting 4K is laughably overkill. Great post!
Nice video! ZV-1 is the perfect starting camera. The only down side it has (against the M50, 90D, Sl3) is they have lens options for macro, and the touch screen menu for on the fly changes. For good photo, video, audio (which the rode wireless go would couple well with the ZV-1) but I dont see the need unless your in a really noisy environment, stabilization, focus, clean hdmi out, no record limit, no 4k crop, good in low light, internal USB charging and can use a power bank, charge while using, you can see the audio bars on the screen so you know you have audio (or if you dont, you'll know right away) also that record light is awesome (you actually know you are recording) The crop factor doesnt distort your face like many other cameras do, product showcase mode, de-focus for blurry background, and no need for adapters, lenses, microphone, carry bag, and far less editing time, its clearly a winner. Straight up $1000 and nothing (or not much else needed) cant beat that really. Im a Canon user (of the above cameras) and I just recently ordered this little guy to take on spur of the moment trips and outdoor ventures (put it in the pocket and go basically) Im anxious to get it and see how it does.
My Sony Rx100vii has the same issue when I wear polarized sunglasses. Luckily the autofocus is fantastic so I just trust it whenever I’m indoors. It’s super annoying though!
I went to the store to buy a camera like this, but got home with a Canon M6 Mii, as Jered said same price and way more possibilities, and I can use EF(S) lenses with an adapter.
11:15 That's a result of the polarization layer in the LCD screen stack. The other LCD panels have two, which are fixed at 90° angles so you only lose some light when rotated at 45° angles. They *could* fix it by using a better LCD panel with a second polarizing layer, but that might require sourcing different parts or possibly retooling, depending on how thick the panel is.
The best review on this camera. Love it. I’m getting into doing vlogging myself. My uncle recommended this camera for me to get. I use my GoPro a lot and it’s just not enough for me. Definitely buying this camera. Thanks fir the great review.
Your summary of vlogging at the end is spot on! exactly what I have been thinking, and the exact same thing I thought when i saw this release... Who Vlogs still? and who is starting to vlog that just won't use their phone with a rode mic plugged in? the AI exposure is better in phones.. This camera doesn't make sense
I agree with what you said Jared, they should have made the lens 20-70 at least to get more in on the wider side, and my god the polarised sunglasses not working will annoy alot of people who will use it to vlog out in the sun..
Now this is how you do a review. You brought up some issues that weren't mentioned by other "reviewers" in their videos now that the NDA has ended. Makes me think you actually spent real time with it and didn't just step outside for 5 minutes to make it look like you did. Nice job. I was intrigued by this camera at first, but I'm not sure it's going to do the trick.
I think this is clearly for vloggers who's subject is mostly themselves. It's lightweight and can easily be carried around while you talk and show people stuff. It all depends on what you need.
Blimey! I didn't think I'd ever hear such an honest opinion from a reviewer that got sent a freebie! Usually it's all positive stuff 'cos they don't want to be 'taken off the list'. Good on ya, man!! PS. I'm still gonna buy one. It was just nice to hear all the proc & cons
@@froknowsphoto - I know it's going back. What I meant is that they sent it for free. You didn't have to buy it. All of the other reviewers got sent one to test too. But, I think because of this, their opinion is biased. Yours is the only one that gave an honest opinion
I felt the same way too. I really wanted to like it, but it's just not wide enough, the head is partly cut off. I think Sony didn't go wider because they just used the rx100 V and made some minor modification rather than creating another lens. It's almost there, so close. I'll stick with my dji osmo action and osmo pocket for vlogging.
Interesting point with the sunglasses, good review over all. Gerald undone also mentioned that you cannot open the battery compartment when anything is screwed into the tripod mount, making it an extra hassle as the battery is small and has to be changed often.
@@45thnewsbrigade-tacticalop60 That convenient when you charge at home, but out in the field you probably don't want to wait or have a cable attached to it while you shoot, you just want to pop that door open, change the battery, and keep shooting.
The problem with this (besides the wide angle not being quite wide enough) is the price. At $750 intro price, it's just too high for what you get. If the price at been $499-$549 it would be a winner. Especially when compared to Sony's own 6100 at $699, and the 6100 does so many other things well.
It's amazing how many RUclipsrs didn't mention the polorized glasses problem. I reached out to several of them and a few got back to me confirmating that the screen goes black with PL sunglasses, yet not one added it to there video.
I was just about to pull the trigger and buy this for a home filmed Podcast. I’m interested in ‘more’ than a 30 minute video record limit and good auto focus. Are there other ‘real’ cameras under $1,500 that have these features?
Thanks for reviewing this camera. I am torn between a GoPro Hero 9 and this. The action camera GoPro is mainly for when I do motorcycle touring and want to record those moments, but I also like to test ride new models and want something that I can vlog with during the review. From what I can tell, this is limited in its format to present as wide a view in the vlog mode, but offers better low light performance due to the 1.8 aperture. As a compromise, the GoPro seems to be a better choice overall for my needs, since most of my riding and reviewing is in daylight. Thanks for saving me from a $900 mistake. And thanks for doing what you do, I watched all of your videos for several years and learned how to use my Nikon D500DSLR and teach a friend that I eventually sold it to. You rock. Peace Out!
Just an idea, the incompatibility with polarized sunglasses might be because the screen it self is polarized to minimise glare in sunshine. Could that be the case? Anyways, its kind of funny nitpicking for old people like myself that have seen the tremendous development of digital cameras from analog. 20 years ago tv procuduction would kill for this image quality :)
I watched a few videos and yours is the only one that offered actual criticism of the camera. Others were like "omg so good!" May check out the a6400 instead.
There's a reason why others got earlier access to the camera than Jared. He's actually doing an honest review while others are pretending there are no issues so they keep getting paid to do early reviews and receive the products before everyone else.
Great review, very fair representation of the pro’s and con’s. The issue with the display would drive me mad with my prescription sunglasses. Obviously not to be used in the sunshine!
I have the a6500 and this is still very compelling. 4K with no limit to record time. Better IBIS then any of those " REAL" cameras you mentioned. Plus there's a future firmware that allows you to use this as a streaming web cam without the dependence of an Algato Cam Link. This camera is pretty revolutionary given the sum of all it's parts. Plus it's coming in at a pretty decent price. The only knock is the focal distance. This should have started at 16mm.
@@mirrorlessny I thought so too, but I returned it. The rolling shutter and image stability were exactly the same as it is in the A6500. This new camera improves on both those aspects bringing it very close to iphone standards in this regard. Checks off everything I want in a vlogging camera. The only knock is the focal length. Don't know how Sony messed that up here.
24mm isn't ideal but the camera doesn't have to be miles away (on tripod) to give really good field of view. The built in mic is really good. Nice and compact when on the move instead of carrying around a dslr that doesn't fit in your pocket etc. If money isn't a concern, this is a great option to add to your 'tools' just like a go-pro has a specific purpose. From what I have seen so far, battery life is the biggest concern but spares are super cheap.
The screen disappearing when wearing polarized glasses issue, I had that a few years back with an HTC 10 smartphone too. It's something to do with the way the LCD display is made. It is pretty shitty yeah, so thanks for mentioning it, no other reviewer did as far as I know!
Excellent thorough review! Well done spotting the sunglasses issue + again a non-touch screen on a 2020 camera and still no usb-c connection to charge. I also wholeheartedly agree that getting an 800dol camera "just" to vlog is nonsensical.
Sony to Jared (and 900 other RUclipsrs): We will give you 10 free ZV-1s and $10k to give your honest review Jared: Sounds good Sony: Can't wait to see your video Jared: Me too! Sony: F**K But really, to be honest, seeing 50 videos go up in 1 day unabashedly praising what looks like a mediocre camera for $800 compared to other options, makes me lose trust in some people. Thanks for your honest review. I couldn't agree more on the focal length. 24mm just doesn't make sense to me. 16mm on the wide end is a necessity in my eyes. I was also wondering if you'd mention the "clipping" I heard. Sounds like a poor implementation of a limiter of some kind, or maybe just not very good preamps. Some people were raving about the image stabilization, but I just don't see that in your footage. I would go so far as to call it ass. Now I'm seeing no touch screen?! And polarized glasses kill the screen? And it doesn't charge fast enough via USB not to die? Just, why... The built in ND is awesome, and the built in mic is impressively good compared to other cameras, but most of the rest seems like a downgrade to me.
That polarization is kinda crazy. As a pilot I had to get my prescription sunglasses as non-polarized, or my cockpit Glass instruments would disappear every time I cocked my head sideways too much. Not a good thing when flying on instruments! If anything I would think Horizontal would be the preference for polarized viewing and might disappear in vertical mode. Yeah.. crazy
I recently got the zv-1 camera and I love it! Change the stabilization setting to standard, it’ll zoom out more instead of it being super cropped. I have an unboxing and videos of this camera on my channel. Great compact camera.
Just a side note on polarisation, if you use a glass screen protector, it should de-polarize the screen, i've had this problem on many cellphones and it was always resolved with a glass screen protector(not plastic)
I think there are is still lots of room for new Vloggers, but most who try will give it up. Everyone wants to be a star, but... I would use a cell phone with a gimbal outside before this camera, and yes, 24mm is too small for vlogs. I do some vlogging during this covid thing just so I can capture my thoughts for my family just in case. I use an old G85 with a 25mm and it works great, but I do it inside only.
Key features: Internal ND, large sensor, great AF, flip-out screen, mic input Key features missing: 4k60p, ultra wide angle lens, computational processing, touch-friendly user interface. Conclusion: most people are better off stick with their phones.
Great review bringing up a lot of interesting points, but I think what Jared and a lot of people commenting on here are missing is that this camera is not meant to compete with a "real" camera (DSLR or mirrorless) but rather replace your phone as a casual filming device. Jared is making kind of an apples to oranges comparison here, saying he'd rather use the M50. The whole point of a compact camera is that you can easily fit it into a pocket and take it with you everywhere, which you definitely cannot do with an M50 or any non-compact camera. I wish more RUclips camera reviewers understood this, and would make videos comparing this camera to other point and shoot cameras, but instead they're all comparing this to mirrorless cameras for some reason...
I feel that is exactly the point here, that for the price of the zv-1 you can either get really solid phone with similar recording quality (and other functions) or a mirrorless camera like the M50. Surely for many vloggers, this camera makes sense, but the price vs functionality comparison might be a huge dealbreaker for many people.
The reason they're comparing mirrorless cameras and not other point and shoot cameras is the price point. This camera isn't competing at *most* other point and shoots on the price point and it's much closer and in many cases even more expensive than many other mirrorless cameras.
Idk for sure in every case, but one reason there would be hiss when an audio signal is louder is if the device is limiting (compressing) the loud signal so that it does not overload. Higher amounts of limiting/compression will effectively make lower levels (hiss floor noise, and ambient noise) louder and reduce the audio dynamic range. The solution for this is having the gain not set too high. Idk if the devices tell you when they are being limited. That would be really nice, and frankly, they should have that. It requires a more elaborate meter. But I would be shocked, floored if hardly any camera had that type of metering except maybe some really high end thing. In fact I would think many dedicated audio devices don't have that kind a meter. They really should. The manual may give you hints, but I think without that it's best to set the level where it never comes quite anywhere near the top.
It might be good for vloggers because it's easy to use, however the M50, a6100, xt20 and gx80 with 'good' wide lens are at the same price, and those have that glass thing which can be detached
Hi Fro, I understand & appreciate your opinion on the 24mm equivalent wide-angle lens. However, wouldn’t a wider angle lens cause more distortion making facial features (like noses) appear weird?
Unreal that the polarization is wrong and the widest focal length is barely acceptable for a vlogger. Glasses all polarize the same way because they cut glare of water and the ground basically. To get this wrong means someone got fired. Its like if a tree falls in the woods - when someone releases a camera that has inverted polarization, someone gets fired...and no we don't hear them get fired.
Nice review, much more in depth and straightforward than others. just started testing this camera. the video recording is nice. photo wise wrt a Mac was not. Seems apple is yet to support ARW raw files. this makes the workflow a hassle, do you have any videos on Sony camera workflows especially with ARW and file transfer (not just USB but WiFi), Because I totally understand your frustration with their crappy (embarrassing) UI.
Vlogging is long from dead for better or worse. These things are gonna sell like hotcakes despite the big error with the screen and sunglasses. Thanks for the awesome deep dive on this camera!
I am glad Sony added the side flippy screen, internal ND filter and lowered the aperture to f1.8 to compete with the Canon G7X...but i agree, for vlogging(which both these cameras market themselves for).... 24mm is not wide enough. Also the lack of a headphone jack is a bummer and Sony’s menus still kinda suck. I am glad that Sony is listening to their vlogging customers, they just need to listen some more to make the zv1 the “perfect” vlogging camera.
The A7III has the same screen issue when using polarized sunglasses! I've mentioned this in some of my videos and it could be a deal breaker for some but yet its hardly ever mentioned.
I legit thought I was the only one who thought other reviewers where being weird about this camera and after listening to your podcast and checking out comments whoa! I have lost trust with some youtubers. Thanks Jared
I have a 200D and a 90D, and I'm thinking of buying the ZV-1 to take on holiday with me, but peoples video quality with the ZV-1 seem to look better than my 90D video. I don't know maybe everyone else is just better with their cameras, or they look better, or they're just recording in better lighting, but my other cameras are too heavy for me to carry around all day on holiday so I think I need the ZV-1 or something similar.
Canon SL3 for $600 or Canon T8i for $900. Both with and 18-55 lens. Interchangeable lenses too. If you can deal with 1080p, the Nikon D5600 can be had for under $500 with an 18mm-* zoom. It is an amazingly capable camera for its price. All these cameras have a "flippy" screen. If Nikon had not made the idiot choice of flipping the screen out the bottom instead of the side, the Z50 would be the vlogging camera of choice as well as maybe the best still camera under a grand out there.
The 24mm isn't an issue because this camera is light enough to use a selfie stick with. I did that with the actioncams and they had close to fisheye lenses.
Best review by far! It's a NOPE for me when it comes to the Sony ZV-1 . I'll be considering the Canon M50 or M6 Mark 2. At least I can grow with those.
I don’t think they’re comparable. This is a compact camera that fits your pocket vs M50 or M6 is mirrorless interchangeable lens camera. It’s also easier to take them to some places that you can’t take a bigger camera.

the polarized glasses interaction depends on both the QA of the glasses and the QA of the camera screen. Some manufacturers don't always have the polarizing filter lined up perfectly (both camera and glasses). It could be that it's your specific camera and other zv-1's are unaffected, but if they're all like that.... yikes.

We have this camera, we did a video on it, the whole not being able to use sunglasses def hurts, and on ours the screen goes dark when it gets warm.. not sure how to fix that.
suddenly I see 10 videos in my subscription box about the new Sony
Imagine the R5... :o
AugmentedGravity Oh, yeah😂
I don't know that this was the only review of this camera that matters, but it was a pretty good and thorough review!
This review is on the another level 👍
your the only review that compared it to the real competition for this camera, canon m50. I have no idea why not one other review compared to anything else. It had all the information I wanted and I'll pass on this camera and get a "real" camera. Thankyou!
I don't know how many review of this same camera I watched... But with this video you touched every part of it ..
Great post!
Seems like a pretty good camera for vlogging ! MUCH better than a cell phone Waaaaaayyyyyy better.
Im a Canon user (of the above cameras) and I just recently ordered this little guy to take on spur of the moment trips and outdoor ventures (put it in the pocket and go basically)
Im anxious to get it and see how it does.
did you like the zv-1 comparedto cannon m50?
My Sony Rx100vii has the same issue when I wear polarized sunglasses. Luckily the autofocus is fantastic so I just trust it whenever I’m indoors. It’s super annoying though!
Thank you for not playing in to the hype like others and giving an honest and unbiased video review. I think I'll be just fine with my Canon M50. 👍
The polarized sunglasses test îs pure Genius. Sony is kicking itself in the nuts
I went to the store to buy a camera like this, but got home with a Canon M6 Mii, as Jered said same price and way more possibilities, and I can use EF(S) lenses with an adapter.
Always watch you first as can rely on you to list the faults unlike others who only mention how amazing it is
Realest review of this camera, Hats off to Jared!
That notice around invisible screen with polarized glasses is actually a very good point, it's so annoying when you can't operate your gadget outside.
That wind noise reduction with the dead cat is amazing.
It’s not a freebie. It will be going back.
@@froknowsphoto - I know it's going back. What I meant is that they sent it for free. You didn't have to buy it. All of the other reviewers got sent one to test too. But, I think because of this, their opinion is biased. Yours is the only one that gave an honest opinion
The screen not showing with sunglasses on is a major fail. Some might not care, but everyone should know before buying
Great review. That polarized issue is a problem for me. The other sony didn't have that issue.
The Z6 vs ZV-1 footage comparison at the start showed just how good Nikons video is these days. The Sony looks almost phone like...
I was able to fix the polarized sunglasses problem that you experienced. See how here: ruclips.net/video/z44dXen71zk/видео.html
Had to laugh at Jareds hair covering the screen at 24mm, some Fro problems. :)
I was laughing when he was cycling. It was funny with his hair in the helmet 😂
He would freak me out if he put on a tie and cut his hair...
Well well well
Now *this* is an unbiased review. Thanks, Jared!
Product Focus seems like something that should be in everyone firmware update for any high end camera now that it's on the ZV-1
Interesting point with the sunglasses, good review over all.
Gerald undone also mentioned that you cannot open the battery compartment when anything is screwed into the tripod mount, making it an extra hassle as the battery is small and has to be changed often.
Sony already thought of that you can charge and power the camera via the USB port
This should have started at 16mm.
a6600 would be an awesome upgrade from a6500
@@mirrorlessny I thought so too, but I returned it.
Dang I saw Ijustine review
Me: Am going to buy it right away best cam
Me after seeing fro review: Hell to the Noooo
The screen disappearing when wearing polarized glasses issue, I had that a few years back with an HTC 10 smartphone too. It's something to do with the way the LCD display is made. It is pretty shitty yeah, so thanks for mentioning it, no other reviewer did as far as I know!
The polarization issue was a critical point no other reviewer mentioned! Nice!
Jared, would you rather shart every time you sneeze or shoot JPEG?
Excellent thorough review! Well done spotting the sunglasses issue + again a non-touch screen on a 2020 camera and still no usb-c connection to charge. I also wholeheartedly agree that getting an 800dol camera "just" to vlog is nonsensical.
Sony to Jared (and 900 other RUclipsrs): We will give you 10 free ZV-1s and $10k to give your honest review
Jared: Sounds good
Sony: Can't wait to see your video
Jared: Me too!
Sony: F**K
But really, to be honest, seeing 50 videos go up in 1 day unabashedly praising what looks like a mediocre camera for $800 compared to other options, makes me lose trust in some people.
Yeah.. crazy
Good review - picked up on a lot of stuff others missed
Thank you for actually using the camera in your review.
Oh the yelling at the SQUIRREL part cracked me up. I spit up my coffee just a little bit from laughing so hard. "Squirrel! I'm a blogger!" 🤣 🤣
Maybe a dig at camera conspiracies 😂
Key features: Internal ND, large sensor, great AF, flip-out screen, mic input
Key features missing: 4k60p, ultra wide angle lens, computational processing, touch-friendly user interface.
Conclusion: most people are better off stick with their phones.
Why would you need computational processing in a camera. It's not a phone
@@ameerikbal8160its a point and shoot camera. Its better to have that feature as its convenient for most vloggers.
I enjoyed ur review! I have seen a lot of reviews on this camera, but ur review was most thoroughly the best! Thanks Jared!
thanks for this review.. will wait for the next iteration of ZV-1.
Thanks Jared, an honest review like always :)!
Hi Fro, I understand & appreciate your opinion on the 24mm equivalent wide-angle lens.
However, wouldn’t a wider angle lens cause more distortion making facial features (like noses) appear weird?
Question: could updates fix the two main problems of the audio and the vlogging aspect to go wider?
I'm sorry, but in what exactly G7x can be compared, even in a sentence, to a Sony cameras? 😅
The A7III has the same screen issue when using polarized sunglasses! I've mentioned this in some of my videos and it could be a deal breaker for some but yet its hardly ever mentioned.
Are the issues I pointed out a DEAL BREAKER for you? Is VLOGGING DEAD???
Yes vlogging is boring to watch
@@lukas_g243 LOL
Why not just use a video camera?
You need to use a screen protector it will solve the sun glases problem... 😂👌😘.
Jared trying to remember how to ride a bike was my favorite.
0:47 great stabilization and quality. Other camera not to buy. My 4 years old phone is better.
I like the hair!! Great review!
Is it better for photography then the RX100 VA? And is it usable for astrophotography?
Best review by far! It's a NOPE for me when it comes to the Sony ZV-1 . I'll be considering the Canon M50 or M6 Mark 2. At least I can grow with those.
I don’t think they’re comparable. This is a compact camera that fits your pocket vs M50 or M6 is mirrorless interchangeable lens camera. It’s also easier to take them to some places that you can’t take a bigger camera.
I like watching your reviews cause you see one of those vloggers and they say oh this camera is amazing and just talk about the screen lol.
That "deadcat" looks more like a "deadmouse" though :-P
Actually it is a Star Trek Tribble. :o
can It do EDM?
I thought exactly the same.
What does dead cat means? Is it the real cat hairs? Coz if that is the case I’m not gonna but this
