Don't you guys just love the guy who's making the movie all by himself single man doing all the stuff, the amount of work that was put into it OMG even the book writers don't do work like this huge respect to the man who's doing it.
I don't understand how there are two thumbs down votes for this. This looks amazing. The special effects are great, the acting looks great, the music is great. THIS looks like the Star Trek I know and love. Great work, guys! February 2016 can't come soon enough. Beam me aboard!
+Michael Shaw It's the Romulans that keep hitting the dislike button. I hope T'Pol or Trip or Archer,... make an appearance, cause from what I've heard Enterprise is in a few scenes. This and Axanar look fantastic, can't wait for both of them. OGAW and Renegades were great movies too, much better than the last 2 theatrical releases imo.
The only Trek fanfilm of this length that I've ever watched from start to finish. Nails what ENT failed to do until it was too late: tells a genuinely Trek-centric story with the best special effects of any fan production, even better than ENT itself.
ProjectNReSource - What can I say? It's a fantastic film - made with much love, and it shows! Excellent production values from every aspect - sound light, CGI development and implementation, script, story line, actors and acting. I had the privilege of meeting you and many of the cast at the showing in Royal Oak last week. Something I'll never forget!
I look forward to the movie. The feel of a war is added to with the beautiful music. It almost felt like that tension left by the music of the Battlestar Galactica series, the music has that similar touch. The CGI...could do with a tad more work, but this is a fantastic effort as is. Great job, so far. Thanks for doing it and keeping the idea alive.
This looks amazing! I really can't wait to watch the finished film. It is really commendable how much time and effort you've put into this, and is so nice to see someone continue the high standard set by the cast and crew of Star Trek Enterprise. To Tommy and all the team, congratulations.
Wow. . . .This trailer is amazing. I can't wait for some space battle scenes! STUNNING job guys. Absolutely stunning. And I am SURE this has not been at all easy to make. So I am grateful for the work you put into it!
Very good team!....with the treatments on the sound and post production work your film has taken on the look and feel and SOUND (in the trailer anyway) of a major production! I look forward to seeing your movie when its released. I wish you and your team all the very best and thank you for what was apparently a lot of work for all of you to bring us another story from the years before Kirk. Lets face it, there is much from that era that is ripe to be made into feature films!
Sir, keep it up. From the trailer, it does not look like a 'fan film' but looks like it was done by a professional well funded studio. I really am looking forward to see it. Looks like a high level production, music and cgi standards :P Am sure the film will live up too and surpass all the promises made.
Geez. Fan-films have come such a long way. Remember what they used to look like 5 years ago? If we could get this level of improvement in such a short time, I think five years from now we'll have fan-films that look virtually indistinguishable (production quality wise) from the theatrical films.
This looks fantastic! Bravo to everyone involved; very impressive work! This is obviously a personal take on Star Trek, but I think I like it and I'm definitely looking forward to seeing the finished film.
Interesting the Galactica-style music used for the trailer. I'm not sure what's going on with the story, but it should appeal to the action movie crowd for sure. Nice effects.
This trailer nails what Star Trek: Renegades got wrong- when you're doing a fan production, your goal should not be to adhere tightly to canon and "official" but to just make something that is brilliant and intriguing on its own
Romulans, Klingons, Borg, Cardassians, and those funny looking creatures that inhabited the bodies of Remmick and that admiral in Conspiracy that the producers never bothered to follow up on in another episode. I think the next time the federation finds an Iconian Gateway they should just go back in time and eliminate all the threatning species of the 22nd and 23 centuries. I think a good premise for a new Star Trek show would be that the Federation has achieved the ability to travel to other galaxies say in the 34th Century. Just think of all the possibilities.
This looks fantastic!! I'll admit I'm a big fan of the 'New' Star Trek movies (not everyone's cuppa tea) and also a big fan of the originals. I just love that you guys are such massive fans that you've produced this. It is a testament to Trek fans everywhere, everything we want to see and the stories that always involve you in a way that seems personal. I'm exceptionally impressed with the trailers and can't wait to see the finished piece in a few weeks time. All power to yourself, the cast and your whole team for what is looking like a job very well done :)
+XxXchinatigerXxX Thank you so much! What a nice comment. I will add too that I'm a big fan of New Trek as well. JJ is probably my biggest inspiration as a filmmaker. But I too love old Trek, and I think all those influences were worn on my sleeve in this one. Hope you like the movie when it's out in a couple weeks :)
A lot of people seem pretty critical of this film, yet it seems to me to be among the most 'honest' of the Star Trek films I've seen. The vast majority of starship crews aren't actors and stage performers. They are average people called to face the challenge of the unknown, and this is one of the few times I can say I can believe this is what an actual crew would look like. Not the perfect physiques and scripted comebacks, but normal people who do their best to deal with a situation that is anything but light-hearted. So, 'bad acting'? So much the better, as I want my characters to feel like they aren't acting, and I've seen a lot worse in other Star Trek home-brew movies (some of which didn't even have the creativity or confidence to use other ships than the Enterprise or other characters but the established main ones, and botched both badly). As to 'lack of imagination', this is exploring a part of Star Trek history only lightly touched on in any of the series, and taking that into a full story looking at what might have been is what imagination -is-. If it isn't what some people feel is 'Star Trek', then they have to ask themselves if they really know Star Trek as well as they think they do. Especially considering how many of the other movies only take what has already been covered in the series or other movies and just replay the same plots and stereotype characters rather than true exploration of the human condition and the characters involved.'Who we are. What we are. We should never lose that.' Better words I have not heard from any of the Star Trek films or home-grown projects in recent times. So, I will wait for this film eagerly, and enjoy it for what it is. An original, imaginative, thought-provoking take on a Star Trek series that rarely took the chances to be those, and by people who cared enough to do it.
I actually really liked it, I also agree with everything you said, I thought the acting was great. I liked the special effects and also the choice to use the 22nd century as a background. More happened in that century than any other according to trek lore and it was nice to see someone exploring it further.
+Bruce Birch Thanks, Bruce! Since Horizon is a fan film, we won't be doing a cinema release. We'll be releasing for free via RUclips. Donors to the film can also receive a copy on DVD or Blu-ray. If that's something that may interest you, check out the support us section on our website: www.startrekhorizon.com/support-star-trek-horizon/
I am glad to see someone finally doing something with the Earth/Romulan war. The Enterprise show should have done it Season 3 instead of that stupid plot involving the Xindi. It was a big missed opportunity and I have no idea why they didn't do it.
skarnak1 they want to do it, and i think it's must be done it for season 5, what make they don't do it because many star trek fans disagree with ST Enterprise, there is many complaints about it so they stop the show.
i've been killing for a Star trek tv serise based around a military ship or military unit or star fighters are marines, and its like someone answers my call.
Yes amazing SFX, Battlestaresque feel to it. Shame about the collars I can't get over the distracting collars on those uniforms. Looks good and seems well made just those bloody collars, they're like a special effect of their own.
Looks really nice. Despite it being just a fan film, and what looks like wooden acting, this still might be a better form than Beyond, if the Godawful trailer for that is any indication.
Just finished watching the movie and it was brilliant. Glad I chose to back the project. Will be putting a link to it on my Star Trek Fan Channel once the "Public Release Date" is reached. Just had a quick question too. Was the use of so many bloom style effects used to disguise the fact CGI sets were used or a personal artistic choice?
Beast390Gaming www.imdb.me/paullang Small part but still a blast to get on set. Horizon is the shizz. Tommy will one day be directing films like Zach, JJ and Whedon, you can count on it, and I better be in all of them :-)
It's amazing, can't wait till it's released! One question though, this grainy style that you see in the clip is that going to stay throughout the movie as well? That would be a bummer :/
+ProjectNReSource I like the look of it personally, it looks more like film and helps give the piece a cinematic feel unlike any other fan film to date.
+Samuel Wich You do have a point but I would like to think that this movie is above that level and would much rather compare them to the real thing. It gives a cinematic feel but now imagine watching that for an hour or two, it will get pretty tiresome.
+Chanan Bos Perhaps. After watching it again, some of, or perhaps even a lot of, the "grainy" look could be caused by youtube's compression. Like photos uploaded to facebook, youtube tends to kill the quality of whatever is uploaded to it. +ProjectNReSource, will you also upload the film to Vimeo? Videos on there tend to retain a lot more of their original quality than videos uploaded here.
+Samuel Wich You are right, uploading a video to youtube in the wrong preset or a video that was incorrectly exported can result in an increase in noise in the video, but judging from the reply of ProjectNReSource it appears that in this situation the graininess in the video is intentional
The scenario and acting seems ok enough, but I feel the fx is a bit to blurry all the way, with far to much lenseflares and blur on the background. I understand it's difficult to create so many virtual sets but still.. Anyway I'm really looking forward to this!
+Caleb Prenger You're forgetting that when Star Trek: Enterprise was cancelled, they were on the brink of the Earth-Romulan War. If the Show had continued, then this kind of scenario is exactly where they may have headed. Sure, Ideally Star Trek, as Roddenberry envisioned it, was about bettering humanity, and how the galaxy as a whole was affected by humanity in a positive way, war is still possible (take the latter seasons of DS9 for example, or the Borg invasion and the Typhon Pact skirmishes in the books), but then it becomes about how Starfleet, and the UFP (both largely Humanity-driven entities) prevail and find the most constructive outcome for all parties.... I will be looking forward to seeing this with great anticipation.
+Scott Gowers Scott, you hit the nail on the head and is often why I don't get the fan response in regards to war storylines. Conflict has been a huge part of human nature and our past as a society and I suspect will be for a long time. What I love about when Star Trek explores war is that it does so in a way that many other properties never do. Star Trek approaches the issue of war in a very unique way, and that's what I'm hoping to do myself.
Ds9Defiant1701 But all of these movies miss the point of star trek. Every movie is about war and battles, and that is not what it was about. That is the point, even if real life is like that, it's supposed to give hope
War became the focus of Star Trek after Gene Roddenberry died. While Conflict played an enormous role in Star Trek, "conflict" does not always mean "war". Star Trek: The Motion Picture was not about war, but did contain conflict on multiple levels. TMP was very successful, too - there would be no sequels if it weren't! I would love to see some of these talented Star Trek fans make a series of films based on the Star Trek: Vanguard series. Excellent books full of conflict and brilliant characters, but no war. I think war has become easy to write about. But war lacks vision and imagination.
+Michael Shaw all i can figure is on some phones the like/dislike buttons are tiny and close together and it's easy to click the wrong one.
+Michael Shaw Now there are 7. I don't understand it either.
+Michael Shaw 22 Thumps down and counting.
The only Trek fanfilm of this length that I've ever watched from start to finish. Nails what ENT failed to do until it was too late: tells a genuinely Trek-centric story with the best special effects of any fan production, even better than ENT itself.
Truly a Golden Age for Star Trek Fan films
The FX in this trailer are 100% awesome and worthy of anything with the Star Trek label.
ProjectNReSource - What can I say? It's a fantastic film - made with much love, and it shows! I had the privilege of meeting you and many of the cast at the showing in Royal Oak last week. Something I'll never forget!
Personally I think it looks fantastic. Be proud of this accomplishment. Even the acting seems credible. not the typical ST fan film.
I'm absolutely blown-away by how good this is looking. Seriously awesome work. Can't wait to see the whole thing!
I look forward to the movie. The feel of a war is added to with the beautiful music. It almost felt like that tension left by the music of the Battlestar Galactica series, the music has that similar touch. The CGI...could do with a tad more work, but this is a fantastic effort as is. i've watched this about 5 times already - the quality on this is top notch man!!
well done to you and your crew!
This looks amazing!
I really can't wait to watch the finished film.
It is really commendable how much time and effort you've put into this, and is so nice to see someone continue the high standard set by the cast and crew of Star Trek Enterprise.
To Tommy and all the team, congratulations.
+Jamie Thomas Thanks so much, Jamie. Glad to have your continued support and kind words :)
Looks great. Great created to you all for making this film. Can't wait to see it
Wow. . . .This trailer is amazing. I can't wait for some space battle scenes! STUNNING job guys. Absolutely stunning. And I am SURE this has not been at all easy to make. So I am grateful for the work you put into it!
This just looks bloody amazing, especially when I'm watching it thinking that Tommy basically did most of it by himself.
I am blown away! I am officially more excited for this, than for Beyond.
Great job guys!! LLAP
What a perfect birthday present this will be. =D
+Squish Squash Josh On behalf of the crew of the NX-04 Discovery, Happy Birthday. - Capt. Hawke

I love the look of this film. CGI & lighting effects really add to the mood. Great job!
Excellent! Looking forward to seeing the full length film!!!
Sir, keep it up. From the trailer, it does not look like a 'fan film' but looks like it was done by a professional well funded studio. I really am looking forward to see it.
Looks like a high level production, music and cgi standards :P Am sure the film will live up too and surpass all the promises made.

Visually looks beautiful and looking forward to the final cut / story.

+Chris Yarrow Was thinking the same thing lol.... A range of emotions from StarGate to BSG to Star Trek Best of All Worlds.
This looks so freaking good! Can't wait for February.
This is going to be SO EPIC!!! Can't wait
This looks fantastic! Bravo to everyone involved; very impressive work! This is obviously a personal take on Star Trek, but I think I like it and I'm definitely looking forward to seeing the finished film.
Holy crap this looks amazing.
Man, this looks and sounds so good. Can't wait to actually see this.
Looks most promising. Good luck to you as you complete post production!
+Louisiana Ghostbusters Don't you have a ghost to bust somewhere?
Fanfilms are not known for their good acting and effects, but this film seems to have both.
You caught my interest. I'll watch it!
Interesting the Galactica-style music used for the trailer. I'm not sure what's going on with the story, but it should appeal to the action movie crowd for sure. Nice effects.
Awsome, this trailer has a real movie feeling and is a majour improovement over earlyer trailer.
Astonishing !!! EPIC..blows everything i've seen out of the water !!!
Looks great, can't wait to see it.
Excellent trailer, and the Captain is Fantastic! Great Job! (he is mix of sisko and Picard)!!
+Roel Van Broeckhoven I don't know who paid you to say that but I couldn't agree more! Thanks.
Wow!!!!!!!! This is awesome!! I can't wait for this in 2016.
can't wait to watch this when it's released online next year 😃
as long as there's no mention of Sulaban, Xindi, or Temporal war, I'll pay money to see this film!
I know I'm years late... but 1:43 it looks like we have the same guy behind the Suliban stuff from ENT.
This trailer nails what Star Trek: Renegades got wrong- when you're doing a fan production, your goal should not be to adhere tightly to canon and "official" but to just make something that is brilliant and intriguing on its own
Loving the colors :)
Caleb Prenger I'm with you but I'm also wanting more Star Trek. I'll take anything I can get lol
EXTREMELY EXCITED FOR THIS !!!!!
This is the Star Trek movie I'm looking forward to more than Star Trek Beyond! (This, Axanar and Renegade, which has already been released)
+Jonathan Ciawy Tay Here Here
Can't wait for this one.
Goosebumps dude, Goosebumps!
Much better than 'Star Trek Beyond' trailer...

that score.... WOW!!
Thanks ;+)

Just had a quick question too.
Was the use of so many bloom style effects used to disguise the fact CGI sets were used or a personal artistic choice?
Those graphics are outstanding
It looks good and can't wait to see it! However, I don't like the grainyness of it though, and personally I think it shouldn't be grainy like that.

Beautiful trailer. why was enterprise mentioned in your previous trailer. what does that have to do with this movie. thanks
It's not big budget, but I like it, something different
This looks like a great indie film. Actually looks better than the Abrems movies.
It would be nice if someone did a film about the lead-up to World War 3.
yooooo, that was a hell of alot better then renrgades!!!
This looks like a 'truer' Star Trek movie than the upcoming 'Beyond the Fast and the Furious Star Trek' movie by Justin Lin.
It's amazing, can't wait till it's released! One question though, this grainy style that you see in the clip is that going to stay throughout the movie as well? That would be a bummer :/
