  • Recently, I noticed that the door belt molding got damaged after running the vehicle thru a few car wash machines. So what better thought than share how to replace them in a video to help others save some time and money. The parts aren't very expensive and replacing them is pretty simple if you know how to do it.
    Steps:
    1) Roll down all the windows
    2) Verify order parts are right (do a visual fit test besides checking the part number)
    3) Remove the old door belt molding
    4) Clean surface before installing molding
    5) Install replacement molding
    6) Test rolling windows up and down a few times
    7) Relax and Enjoy !!!
    This is filmed on a 2020 Lexus GS 350 F Sport RWD. This video content may help others who have Toyota or other Lexus models also. Take note that some vehicles may have a screw near the end of the belt molding that needs to be removed before the molding can be removed as in the LX SUV models.
    Also, it may work for other vehicle makers.
    Please help post a comment if it worked for your vehicle.
    These part numbers are for the 2013-2020 Lexus GS models for the door belt molding. This is not the weather stripping molding (that's a different part).
    Note: The part numbers are different for your vehicle if you have a different vehicle altogether. Check with the dealer against the VIN number to avoid costly mistakes.
    1 Door Belt Molding (Left, Rear) 7574030440
    1 Door Belt Molding (Left, Front) 7572030500
    1 Door Belt Molding (Right, Rear) 7573030390
    1 Door Belt Molding (Right, Front) 7571030500
    If you like this video, please help with a thumbs up so other people can watch the video. Please help post a comment to help others or have a question.
    Once I figured out how to replace the door belt molding, it was quite easy to do.
    Thanks for watching.

    Thank you very much! I am going to replace the driver side, rear door belt molding of 2017 ES350 and I did not see a screw so I am sure it is the same way you did yours.

    Can you do a video on how to remove the carpet in the GS? I want to add some soundproofing, but don't know how to remove the different pieces to get underneath the carpet. TIA

      @netman88  2 года назад

      Sounds like a big job. You'll need to unplug and take the seats out, remove the door trims, etc. Maybe an auto body shop can help.

    I'm looking for that yellow clip on the trim ... Do you have a part number, name or link to buy some? All of mine are broken

    • @netman88
      @netman88  Год назад +1

      I believe you have to purchase the whole chrome piece with it. I don't have that part number. Maybe try calling a Lexus dealer if you have it.

      @@TheParts1800 no. I still had the old molding. It was bent so I bent it back into place and kind of just clipped it back on the windshield
