    The original weather strip is actually incredibly hard to remove from the Corolla - my experience is similar to what's shown in the video (yes, I had the window rolled down and it was still tough). Thanks for showing an accurate portrayal of what this process is like 🤣

    • @YiannisPagonis
      @YiannisPagonis  3 года назад +2

      Yes indeed the truth is what you describe. This original weather strip is quite stuck and has become one with the door frame. After a lot of effort you can remove it. Things are not so simple for some who do not know.

      Work smart not hard. Pop the clip out and tear it off. 1 minute per molding. Done literally hundreds so I admit I am faster than most, but once the clip is out the rest just tears off. It's going in the trash anyway.

    • @axlef1513
      @axlef1513 5 месяцев назад +1

      @@YiannisPagonis No it is not one with the door frame. That is ridiculous. There is not a drop of silicone of the entire strip unless someone added some after they bought the car. A clip holds it on and the rest pops in at a tight angle. Tear it and it pulls right off. Sorry but you're doing it the hard way and passing on terrible "tips".

      I found plenty these strips on E-bay. From several different sellers. Most prices are about the same. Be sure to check the E-bay sellers rating which ate an indication of how good the seller is with his customers. I usually buy from a seller with a score of over 99%. The lower the seller's score the more dissatisfied customers he's had. You don't want that. EBay has higher selling standards. Also make sure your item is being shipped from the US. Products shipped from overseas can take several weeks to receive. You don't want that either. Overseas orders are likely to get lost or damaged.

      Order aftermarket from EBay. Forty dollars for the complete set of four strips. Toyota parts are way overpriced. Aftermarket parts seem to be better quality nowadays. These weather strips look as well made as Toyota OEM.

    I'm not trying to be rude or a know it all, but this video is ridiculously over complicated and includes totally unnecessary steps. I own a car lot and change these all the time. The trick is to identify where EXACTLY the old "clip" is that holds it in. So just look at the new ones you bought..One clip on each front molding and two on each back strip. Pop those out carefully so you don't scratch the paint and tear the damn thing off. I guarantee I can pull four of them off in 5 minutes or less. Its being thrown away, once the clip is out just pull/tear it off. No wd40 needed by any means. Just makes a mess and is not cheap these days. Hope this helps.

    • @YiannisPagonis
      @YiannisPagonis  5 месяцев назад +2

      I think my friend that you have a high opinion of yourself and don't know enough about technical problems. This video I'm showing is a real tricky front door molding replacement situation because the car's years of exposure to high summer temperatures has caused the molding to melt and stick and become, if you want to believe it, a body with the car door chassis. Also know that all cases are not the same because each case is different with its own degree of difficulty. Thank you 😊😊
