Hey guys! Just wanted to mention, the apartment hunting with video tours start at 8:55. Just in case you wanted to skip the paperwork and tips+experiences part. 😊
Thank you so much. I was seconds away from skipping all the rambling. Lol
I know there NYC is different. Apartments make it so difficult like they would let you be in the street instead of lowering prices. Everyone should just go get a home. See how the apartment market feel then.
I want to move to New York in a few years. since I’m living in Germany right now I have a lot of things to do before the big step is there and I really love to watch these kind of videos to have a better view of what it’s like to hunt apartments.. I really hope it’ll work out for everyone who wants to make a big step like this
ReyhanY hoping you can make this happen! NY is great! ✨💖
For future reference, it's expensive but you can go through a guarantor service. I went through Insurent. They're extremely responsive but also a bit expensive but if you have the money it's worth it to get the place that you want. Hope this helps in the future!
Amazing! Thank you! Forgot to mention that one 😊
I love this! I had that first apartment saved on Street Easy LOL
No way!! Lol we have similar taste haha!
love how detailed this was
Amanda Odawa thank you! 😊💖
i can vouch for Gypsy Housing! I have a friend from high school who now works under them and he was so helpful when we were first looking at getting our own place. he made everything so easy!
You were smart to move now! Since you only need a 1 bedroom, that price is amazing! I miss living right in Manhattan! (I’m out in queens)
We missed it too! We thought it was a good time to move back now :)
i might get emancipated when i’m 16 and i wanna move to nyc. i feel like it’s going to be very hard living by myself while i’m still a teenager. thank you so much for the tips though!! :)
So helpful thanks girl!
Thank you for watching ☺️💖
Great choice! I loved the 3rd apt! 😉 2 questions:
1. Am I wrong or I think I saw a washing machine in the kitchen?!
2. Did you get the apt furnished like in the video?
Rosanna Libia thank you! 💖 Yep! There was definitely a washer in the kitchen lol and the apt we got didn’t come furnished but apt number 2 had the option if we wanted! 😊
WTF!! 1,500 for an Application Fee?!?!? That’s insane and I feel scammed😱
I'm from the UK, wanting to move to NYC. If I had a job contract signed and ready to start would that be possible to be able to rent ?
Do you believe you HAVE to have room mates? I mean idk how someone by themselves can make 40x the rent a year .Cant have a guarantor either
The struggle is real! I don't believe you HAVE to have roommates but most people do. If you don't make 40x the rent or have a guarantor it makes it more difficult. LOADS of people in NY have roommates, It is easier to get approved this way. :) 40x the rent, when you are looking to lease vs sublease, is a requirement that can't be broken for the most part. Right now, due to COVID and so many people leaving the city, there is more lenience in negotiating with the landlord to possibly bring down the price. I hope this helped! Xx
I thought it was a law now that they couldn't charge more than 20$ each? On the application i mean
Hi Jessa! This is true for apartments but doesn't include condos or co-ops! :)
