I think my favorite would in the beginning when Lenny says to Micah: "When you die, there will be a party" In the spring of 1907 Micah gets killed by John and Dutch. Later that day John and Abigail get married.
My favourite foreshadowing was when Ross meets Jack by the river, mocks him to enjoy it while it lasts, and then we see Jack kill Ross by the river at their ending.
@@maxor6828 naw I hate it because it ruins everything that Arthur and John sacrifices themselves for. They wanted Jack to be better than them and to not go in the directions they took, but he did. So I personally hate the fact that he went after Ross, like Arthur said, “ Revenge is a fools game”

I like how John's grave says "Blessed are the peacemakers" and Arthur's grave says "Blessed are those who hunger and thirst for righteousness". Sums both them up perfectly.
That's actually the best foreshadowing and it's a shame it wasn't on this list. I mean, when Ross said "Enjoy your fishing kid, while you still can" it gave me chills
Man Javier is actually good, he never actually aims at Arthur or John (when at the final standoff)because he still considers them brothers according to the Javier actor
@@fgwrts So Arthur and John were bad, because Dutch considered them traitors, huh? Nah. Dutch is to blame. You can't betray someone, whose mind betrayed himself.
The way Javier puts his arm up, in slow mo, during the final stand off in rdr2, I think he was about to lower his arm to aim at Arthur and John. I'm not sure he was as ambivalent as people make out, like he was reluctant to fire at them. If he was impartial then he wouldn't have stood with Dutch, he'd have run over to the woman that got shot by micah or something.
@@WOOOPdoctorFROGhere I've watched that again, and he actually did aim his gun at them. You can see it when Dutch says "who amongst you, is with me, and who is betraying me" and when Agent Ross says "put your guns down".
You know if you kill Javi in the First Red Dead John has a regretful expression on his face, even after he spat on him. Yet when he kills Bill he gives no sign of regret. Guess John truly saw Javiar as a comrade than Bill.
jesus christ himself I’m not so sure because he’s white is why people hate him, might be how he betrays you, creates the most horrid gang in the first game, kills innocent and tried killing John
jesus christ himself bro what, bill is a total dick. he constantly starts fights in camp, is constantly messing up, and is always drunk. Javier is like the opposite 😂
In the last scene where the gang points their guns at arthur and john you can see that Javier isn't actually aiming at you but at the sky because he can't bring himself to kill us
Jack: I want to be a gunslinger! Abigail: Over My, John's, Uncle's, Dutch's, Bill's, Javier's, Micah's, Arthur's, Miss Grimshaw's, Strauss's, Molly's, Lenny's, Hosea's, Keiran's, and Sean's dead bodies!
Oddly enough, in Chapter 6, they don't actually hide in a cave... They set up camp outside of it for some reason. That always bothered me. I was always looking at that camp like "why did you set up OUTSIDE of the hideout? That entrance is tiny, if the Pinkertons attacked it, they'd be mowed down!
Only the situation was not reversed. Javier searches for a wounded friend in desperate need of help out of loyalty and concern. John however, is forced to hunt down a backstabbing fugitive who he'd have preferred to forget.
While I agree that seeing him in both games back to back, it's jarring, we have to remember that it's more than ten years between when we last see him in RDR2 and his appearance in RDR1. A lot happened to him in that time. My thinking is that soon after the end of RDR2, Dutch abandoned Javier and Bill, leaving Javier with no authority figure to guide him and leaving him distraught and with nothing left. Having nothing left for him in the USA, he went back to Mexico, becoming a gun for hire and slowly becoming more violent, selfish, and careless as the life he once cherished completely collapsed around him.
When Dutch says, “In the end, I think you will betray me, Arthur.” In the camp in Chapter 2. That was some good foreshadowing. But Dutch betrays Arthur first. At the oil factory, but especially when the O’Driscolls kidnap him and Dutch sits on his ass and does nothing.
Justin Copus Colm’s plan was to kidnap Arthur and have Dutch and the gang come to the cabin to save him, so he could get the police on them. Dutch didnt know anything had even happened yet probably. He didnt see Arthur get taken
These two moments of foreshadowing I like: After Arthur talks with Agent Milton while taking Jack fishing, Agent Ross tells Jack, "Enjoy your fishing, kid, while you still can." They first met by a river, and Jack later kills Ross by a river. Second one is John telling Javier in El Presidio, "I ain't the judge, but...as it turns out, it's you or me. The way I see it, might as well be you." The second game shows that John gets it from when Dutch drowns Angelo Bronte and feeds him to an alligator before saying, "It ain't nice, I know, but it's either us or him! I figure it might as well be him." That part kinda transforms John's quote in the first game to not only badass but also directly quoting Dutch.
I also love it in Chapter 1 when you have to go save John in the mountains, Javier says "I know if the situation were reversed... he'd look for me." I think that was my favourite part of foreshadowing/referencing in the game.

I think the better foreshadowing of Jacks future would be when Arthur took him fishing, they ran into Edgar Ross and he said, "Enjoy the fishing while you still can, kid." To Jack. A decade later, Jack shoots Edgar while he was fishing.
I’m surprised people are still getting this wrong. Ross was duck hunting, not fishing but they met next to a river and they meet for the last time by a river.
3Block Ko I didn’t mean to say it in a aggressive or offensive way but really? The game’s been out for 3-4 months now. It’s really surprising that people are still getting confused. It’s almost like the thing where people confuse the hat that Arthur gave to John to be the same one that John wears in RDR1 which is wrong too when they are clearly different hats.
Jack Marston becoming a gunslinger is the saddest moment in all of RDR 1 and 2. Everything they did was so that this boy had a chance to grow up and be something else. Nobody wanted him to be an outlaw, including he himself I think. But violence begets violence, and the viscous dance continues, all in the name of revenge, generation after generation. There is no redemption, only vengeance. What a series.
I’m pretty sure that Jack doesn’t carry on being a gunslinger. In gta you can find a book called red dead redemption and it says that the author is j.marston. I think that Jack grew up to become an author and write about his adventures in the Wild West.
@@alan897100 I don’t think GTA and RDR are in the same universe. California and New York are real places in RDR but in GTA they are called San Andreas and Liberty City.

John Teller didn’t want the outlaw life for his son just like John Marston but he died before he could do anything about that. At least Jax succeeded at rescuing his sons from the outlaw life. And their names are basically the same too lol John Marston / John Teller Jack Marston / Jax (Jackson) Teller
@@cocob0l0 Um dumbass? The whole point of the story was him renouncing his criminal ways and becoming a beacon of good for the last few weeks he had left.
There’s a camp encounter where Dutch says he has two theories on how to argue with women and neither of them work. John uses that line in RDR1 Hes a goddamn line thief.
There are a few occasions when you hear Arthur repeating stuff you've heard Dutch say, such as that line about revenge being a fool's errand. It really shows how charismatic a leader Dutch was in his prime.
John probably would have, but he would have still taken him in; he does still value Javier as his brother, but his will to get Abigail and Jack back outweighs everything.
When you are in the epilogue of RDR2, after you build your ranch, when you get out of the barn it have the same animation and light effect as when John dies in RDR.
Javier: “we was family” John: “and then you and Dutch went crazy” That’s true but when John hops up the hill with a wound when Arthur is confronting Dutch they all join Dutches side (apart from John and Arthur) Javier is the only one that didn’t point a gun at them and aimed it upwards.
I don't think anyone has commentrd this minor detail but the encounter with Agent Milton and Ross at the river, where Milton tells Arthur that he and his gang are all gonna die in just a matter of time? "You people venerate savagery - and you will die savagly! All of you!" "Oh we're all gonna die" "Some of us more *sooner* than others!" Ironic how he died right before an outlaw with tuburculosis.
“Can’t fight... gravity” I love that recurring speech. It sums up Dutch perfectly. All he ever has done is stir up as much chaos as possible and then run like a coward when consequences arose. His death was him finally attempting one last escape.
I’d say it’s debatable in way but true in another . There are RDR Easter eggs in GTAV and one of them is a book shelf where there are books written by Jack (he ended up becoming an author). So he probably didn’t end up like John or Arthur. In the other hand he didn’t make Abigail, John, or Arthur proud by killing Ross ( “leave and never look back” “revenge is a fools game”)
There is one in the epilogue where Sadie and John catch a mexican gang member from Mexico. John comments he would never go to Mexico. Edit: John makes a comment in the end of the mission " Afavor for an old friend"
"You gotta learn to finish things Jack." "I know..." You should have included that scene with Arthur and Jack. That foreshadows Jack's revenge for John.

I found something that nobody else ever talks about. In rdr2 I played poker it was me, John, and somebody else I can’t remember. But John said “you know that gunslinger Landon Rickets? They say he has a weak spot for poker” and I’m pretty sure John played poker with him (or at least something like that it’s been years since I’ve played the first rdr)
DOLOMITE I think it’d be really cool as a spin off dlc but as a full protagonist I couldn’t see it cause he doesn’t seem like the type to be hunting and that kind of stuff
He sure does. The way he says it too shows that he idolises Landon Ricketts, which you see in RDR. Probably explains why he's such a good gunslinger. They should have had him practicing around camp.
A Javier prequel would be awesome. He was a revolutionary fighter in Mexico before the games and he’s got a whole lot of background for a character that really doesn’t get a whole hell of a lot of screen time.
The mission where you take Dutch to see the new camp after the Valentine incident Dutch says something like "I don't want us living in a cave like a bunch of crazy folk" except it's with better wording and a deep voice. I thought that was an interesting one
Jack killing Ross is the tragedy of the series, because he was the only real hope for redemption and a new life. Instead, he gets too hot headed to realise what his father learned and he dooms his fate. Similar to Rain Falls and Eaglie Flies.

02:35 Dutch after killing Bronte in RDR2: "It's us, or him. I figured it might as well be him." They are so different, but it's pretty obvious that John was raised by Dutch
It’s such a sad progression that Javier went through. He was such a reliable and good guy in RDR2 and then he became a completely different man, gave me a whole new perspective when I replayed RDR1 after finishing part 2.
When Arthur and John got back to camp, Dutch had guns on them before Javier got there, so when he saw them fighting he joined Dutch. I know for sure if he saw what happened before that he would have joined John and Arthur, but alas, he came too late.
Spoiler warning lads for both games I was interacting with uncle in the epilogue and here is how it went John: “So when are you leaving” Uncle: “I ain’t goin’ anywhere this is where you’ll be burying me...” (in a not serious tone) John: “if you know when that will be then tell me...please” 4 YEARS LATER *uncle gets shot* John muttering under his breath while jack is panicking (only if you have good honor): shit...the time came
Imagine if they made remastered versions of rdr1 where, while john still doesn’t mention arthur, but it clears up plotholes and he doesn’t act like everyone in the gang betrayed him, referring to arthur by things other then name
6. Javier saying "If I was out there, I know John would come looking for me." 7. Arthur saying that Dutch moving the camp into a cave is a sign of defeat. (They move to a cave in Chapter 6)

There's also a part in Colter, where when John was lost and Arthur and Javier were going to look for him, and Javier said "If the roles were reversed, he'd look for me." Then John went looking for him in RDR1. Not the best connection, but it's a connection.
After playing RDR2, I could never bring myself to shoot Bill in RDR1, despite everything he did in the game. I only shot Javier because he would of been publicly hanged, and I imagine he wouldn’t wanted to be paraded like that
Well, Bill was still kind of a dick in RDR 2. He constantly started fights with other people in the camp. He was drunk almost all the time. Let's not forget he showed no hesitation when siding with Micha and went against Arthur. Javier I can understand, he was hesitate but his love for the gang consumed him. The things Bill did in the first game only added to it. He was kickass in the second game I admit and was the tough guy of the gang. But RDR 1 Bill was just unstable, it's sad.
When i heard micah say 'ill wipe that smile off your face one day.' And the thing that ran throught my mind was i swear if they include arthurs death im gonna- *scene plays* ........
Bill was the dumb but hilarious muscle of the gang He turned into a psychopathic murderer with no remorse for anyone Javier was the music-loving refugee that sang wonderful songs for everyone to hear, and also loyal to a point. He became a cold, merciless hitman for the Mexican government, turning on his former brother-in-arms Dutch was the charismatic leader that would do anything for his family, even saying that he would gladly die in their places when they lose a member. He became a ruthless, disgusting, shell of his former self, using natives to his own advantage to get his way, and attempted to gun down someone who had known him since he was 13 with a gatling gun.
Zayd Ahmad true. Although the same could be said about you, the player. If you chose to go down the dishonorable path, did you change into something else? Or were you just becoming more of who you really were? Everyone’s fate is always death, but they all made their own moral choices in the end that led them to how they faced their own deaths. Some left and chose to struggle through the honorable side; while others stayed for the money/familiarity and embraced their dishonorable side.
Another foreshadowing moment is when you complete Jack’s side quest. I think it’s if you give him a story book, but he’ll leave a drawing at Arthur’s tent with John, Abigail, and him in front of a house with 2 sheep on each side of them. Basically Jack foreshadows the Epilogue where John becomes a Rancher.

One thing that i always liked was how Javier's character turned out. In rdr2, he was kind and 100% for the gang and Dutch. When shit hits the fan and John sides with Arthur over Dutch, Javier sides with Dutch because Javier wasn't present during the argument. He runs in after to tell everyone they are in danger. Then in rdr1 when John comes for him, Javier could've killed John but he didn't. He pushed something on John to buy time to run away. I think his reluctance to kill John really shows his view of the gang. He calls John his brother even though it gets thrown in his face. I also really liked that in rdr1, John doesn't have to (or can't) kill Bill, Javier, or Dutch. It flows nicely with the story of the prequel.
I think a much smaller foreshadowing moment that people don’t pay attention too is in Rhodes, if Arthur helps this doctor get his wagon back after it’s been stolen he gives Arthur a book that helps you craft tonics to help your health, and the doctor will say “it won’t help with anything chronic, but you might not need it too” this is all before we start to notice that signs of Arthur being severely sick.

Only the situation was not reversed. Javier searches for a wounded friend in desperate need of help out of loyalty and concern.
John however, is forced to hunt down a backstabbing fugitive who he'd have preferred to forget.
I mean-
If you think about it, John is worse than Micah as he killed members of the gang. I guess Micah killed Arthur, but he would die regardless

The change in Javier personality is unacceptable
yeah other actor
Similar to how Dutch changed
Sebastián Salerno // nah.... dutches change you can see happen before your eyes. Javier it felt so sudden.
Yeah cuz he's "loyal"
Dutch most likely couldn't find the place they held Arthur. They took Arthur to some random ass cabin.
Toxic Gaming how did Dutch get away? That’s a plot hole though, and it pains me to discuss plot holes on such a great game.
Justin Copus Colm’s plan was to kidnap Arthur and have Dutch and the gang come to the cabin to save him, so he could get the police on them. Dutch didnt know anything had even happened yet probably. He didnt see Arthur get taken
True
Dutch didn't seem to know Arthur had been captured
These two moments of foreshadowing I like:
After Arthur talks with Agent Milton while taking Jack fishing, Agent Ross tells Jack, "Enjoy your fishing, kid, while you still can." They first met by a river, and Jack later kills Ross by a river.

Jack Marston becoming a gunslinger is the saddest moment in all of RDR 1 and 2. Everything they did was so that this boy had a chance to grow up and be something else. There is no redemption, only vengeance. What a series.

Bantersaurus Rex after Reyes killed Allende and bill reached for his gun I shot his head off
@@SmokeyGames420 Tough guy? He's gay and his name is Marion as he's very emotional.
When i heard micah say 'ill wipe that smile off your face one day.' And the thing that ran throught my mind was i swear if they include arthurs death im gonna- *scene plays* ........
Sorry buddy 🤗
I remember one stranger mission where you return a doctors wagon. He gives a book with recipes. He says it can’t cure anything chronic
Arthur’s TB
But you may not need it
Man, Javier is so different in Rdr1, it’s kinda sad how cold he became... Edit- OMG THIS IS THE MOST LIKES I EVER GOT! THANK YOU GUYS SO MUCH!!
Bill was the dumb but hilarious muscle of the gang
He turned into a psychopathic murderer with no remorse for anyone
Javier was the music-loving refugee that sang wonderful songs for everyone to hear, and also loyal to a point.
He became a cold, merciless hitman for the Mexican government, turning on his former brother-in-arms
Dutch was the charismatic leader that would do anything for his family, even saying that he would gladly die in their places when they lose a member.
He became a ruthless, disgusting, shell of his former self, using natives to his own advantage to get his way, and attempted to gun down someone who had known him since he was 13 with a gatling gun.
The Rockstar Gamer
Did any of them actually change? Or did they just become more of who they are.
That’s what Rains Fall was asking Arthur.
Dark Flame I actually loved Javier in Rdr2
True
Zayd Ahmad true. Although the same could be said about you, the player. If you chose to go down the dishonorable path, did you change into something else? Or were you just becoming more of who you really were?
Everyone’s fate is always death, but they all made their own moral choices in the end that led them to how they faced their own deaths. Some left and chose to struggle through the honorable side; while others stayed for the money/familiarity and embraced their dishonorable side.
Ah man I wanted to go to Mexico John you're one lucky bastard

Another foreshadowing moment is when you complete Jack’s side quest. I think it’s if you give him a story book, but he’ll leave a drawing at Arthur’s tent with John, Abigail, and him in front of a house with 2 sheep on each side of them. Basically Jack foreshadows the Epilogue where John becomes a Rancher.
“How many times must I bury you John Marston?”
“Never! You ain’t never burying me”
😬
Jack :I wanna be a gunslinger when I grow up
Abigail :over my dead body
Jack :bet
15 year later
Jack : hello Ross ( bang ) I told you mama I going to be a gunslinger
He did follow her orders.. She said "Over my dead body", therefore Jack seemed to oblige.
Wolfox ture
Nice right ?
Ross accept the duel and lost, jack beat him fair and square , i see no crime at all

3:50 But the Foreshadowing is only for low honor Arthur anyway, with high honor Arthur makes fun of Micah in the final fight ("Can't even kill a dying man")
True
It still works.
No it doesn't if you get the high honor ending Arthur smiles at the end one more time procing Micah wrong.
Indo-J true yeah
High honor ending is the canon ending.
Jack: (looking for Caine) Caine! Caine!
Micah: (killed Caine earlier) He’s never coming back

Lennyyyyyy!!!!!!!
