How To Fix Dell Boot Loop, Stuck on Diagnosing PC, Stuck on Loading Screen

    Use this video to troubleshoot and repair why your Dell is in a Boot Loop situation, stuck diagnosing PC, stuck loading or repairing, or other boot up issues. Make sure these are happening AFTER the initial Logo Screen. Please note, this can also be caused by a loose HDD. Try unplugging it and plugging it back in! That is called 'Reseating' the HDD.     FAQ's:
    Q: What are the buttons you press?
    A: F2 - BIOS, F12 - Diagnostic Options
    Q: What if I cannot seem to switch between Legacy and UEFI or switching does not work?
    A: If you cannot locate the options to switch between or if switching does not work, then skip that step and continue with the rest of the video. What was the result of the diagnostic scan?
    Q: It has an error saying 'legacy option cannot be enabled with PTT enable'
    A: Disable PTT Security by going to the Security Tab, and selecting PTT Security. Uncheck the box. If you cannot locate the options to switch between or if switching does not work, then skip that step and continue with the rest of the steps in this updated version of this video: • How To Fix Dell Boot L... :) What was the result of the Diagnostic Scan?
    Q: What if my diagnostic test shows the HDD as 'Not Installed"?
    A: If the HDD is showing as 'Not Seen' or 'Not Installed' that means the hard drive is either loose or bad. I would 'Reseat' it (unplug it and plug it back in) as seen here in this updated video: • How To Fix Dell Boot L... . Try the scan again. If it still says that its not installed, then its most likely bad and needs to be replaced. Let me know if you would like help with any of that :)
    Q: My hard drive didn't pass the test. What do I do now?
    A: You should then replace the hard drive as seen here; • Acer Travelmate - How ... .
    You would also then need to install an operating system onto the new one.

    Q: Changing the settings in BIOS didn't help and my HDD passed the test.
    A: If changing the setting sin BIOS didn't identify the issue and your Hard Drive passed the test, then the issue is most likely Operating System related. Can you find any Repair or Recovery options in BIOS? If that did not help, I would next try to reinstall the operating system.

    Q: I cant run the diagnostic scan. It wont complete or I cant access it.
    A: If you cannot run the scan, we don't know for sure if the HDD is healthy or not. We will have to continue troubleshooting assuming it is for now. If its healthy, and if the issue is operating system related, I would then reinstall it.

      Hey I know this is a old video and you gone but I’m checking a computer and it’s currently just shows the pre boot system assessment but none of the parts it said it has detected errors though it doesn’t say the problem is there another way for me to check?

      Nevermind found where it says each part but it saying none of them are broken or messed up they all have green checks

      @@ketto2034 1. If the diagnostic test didnt find any errors, were you able to try the other steps seen in that updated video?
      2. Also, did anything happen before this issue appeared? Liquid spill, overheating, Windows update, etc?

    This really helped me, although my laptop says: Hard drive test was unsuccessful, I exited the scan and rebooted. It started up. Thank you so much. Don’t know why this happened, but it worked. Thanks again.

    Brother, my Dell laptop developed the same problem you described here. I took it to the experts at a couple of computer chain stores and not only were they unable to fix, I was told that my data was lost and it would require additional expertise and money to recover. I went home and on a last ditch effort came across this video. And after following step by step your clear instructions, I was able to access the computer files, saved them on an external hard drive and now I am watching your other videos to see if I can fix what’s causing the problem. Bottom line: YOU DA MAN! Thanks!

    This video saved me a lot of time and aggravation. My PC came back from a Dell Repair in Secure Boot mode. Once I followed the steps and set the BIOS back to legacy mode, my PC booted up normally. Thank you!

    Thanks for your quick response! I kept poking around after I posted my question and discovered the surprisingly mundane problem and fix. I tried starting with all periphials unplugged (I hadn't done that before) and it started! To cut to the chase, the problem was a stuck Control key on my keyboard. Pried it up with a knife to unstick it and all was fine.

    Thank you so much, had been trying for months to fix my dell laptop stuck on dell logo for 15-20 min. each time I turned it on. Diagnostic found no problems. Did the F2 when restarting laptop. The time was correct. Went to boot sequence, my hardrive was in second place, put it in first place. Laptop has been booting within seconds now. So so happy.

    Thanks so much for this video! It helped me get Windows to come up, but I had to do both 'levels' of the Preboot System Assessment--the first one that took only a few mins (and no errors were found) but when I exited that one it still would not get out of the loop; so then I did it again, but this time also did the second, longer assessment (almost an hour-and it didnt find any errors either) and when I click on Exit to get out of the assessment then I can get the pc to get into Windows and seems to be good. Only problem is that if I close down the pc, then the loop comes back....and the only way to get Windows again is to do the assessment (~1hr) to get it to load Windows so I can even use the pc....outside of leaving it on all the time of course. I've looked at several of your other videos but not finding any other clues as to what I can do to get it to boot up normally. Thanks so much in advance for any help!!

    Thank you man, unplugging and plugging back the HDD worked at once! Also i noticed a tiny cable(a bit left to the processor fan, a tiny golden cap loke thing) slightly unplugged. That might be the reason too but thank you dude. Made my day 👍

      That means the hard drive is either bad or loose. I would first try 'reseating' the Hard Drive. That is where you unplug it and then plug it back in, making sure its properly plugged in and secure. Try the scan again.       For others unsuccessfully, I booted to safe mode and it worked, but then I shut it down, and booted back normally and it worked. Weird.

      My laptop not booting from bootable usb having wondows 7 in one usb and windows 10 in one usb but both not working in laptop and same booyable usb work in pc where I maked that bootable usb..I performed dignostic test that also ok. Previously I installed windows 10 from bootable usb in legacy mode but this time when I try to boot from same usb then only windows logo and spinning wheel appearing for 10 to 15 min then black screen and when boiting from windows 7 bootable usb then loading windows file shown followed by starting windows logo theen mouse curser and stuck at mouse curser..can you tell me which problem is there which not able to load setup from bootable usb? I tried to tested from ubantu bootable usb and ubantu bootable usb load setup and I run that uabntu setup in trial mode which working fine.. please tell me what problem is in my system?

    Hey man. My laptop randomly started beeping and flashing different colours. I turned it off and left it for a couple of hours. Later on i went to turn it on and it just wouldn’t.     Duuuuuuudee!! Just got a refurbished Dell 7050. Long story short: I messed in the bios whilst getting Batocera to run off an external hard drive and got this screen. Reset bios to what it was and all's good! Thanks!!
    Other videos and online sources were like "windows key and C," or "hold F8"... this did the trick. 🙌👏

      If the update is not processing, your operating system may be messed up. Back up your data, and then try a Factory Reset as seen here; ruclips.net/video/IE1zShTb0rU/видео.html.     After checking this setting there was X symbol on my Hard drive ... does that means my hard drive is bad

    After I did the legacy stuff it said No Boot Device Found. Press any key to reboot the machine
    Also when I did the testing thing where the colors show up it said it found one or more errors but it didn’t tell me what they were

      On the color testing, does it prompt you to hit 'Y' if you can see the colors? Do you hit 'Y'?
