The reason why the deep dives are critical of madden is because it’s a mostly different team working on CFB 25.

Hawkeye fan here. What bends my brain is that I remember back in 2008 I was talking to my sister's boyfriend at the time who was also a huge Iowa fan, and we were talking about how badly we wanted a new head coach THEN. Its 16 years later and I'm still waiting! It's just time! Is he going to keep coaching Iowa until he's just a skeleton on the sidelines?! Hawkeyes need to reach the next level with a coach who can take them there.

The hope is that CFB and the way their game runs in the sense of how abilities work and other things will be competition for Madden like a different football game and will make them better and if CFB blows up, you know that it'll be something Madden is keeping an eye on.
I was thinking the same thing. This could be a situation where EA decided to do something different, but instead of it being Madden, they decided to test it out on CFB. While it should be common sense that Madden needs to get better, they might be using this as a test to see if they bring over what people like about this game to Madden

The switch stick is actually a way of switching players in FIFA, hopefully it is balanced well but sometimes it switches to an incorrect player. Promising change tho

The abilities and stuff are different because they are made by different development teams cfb is made by Orlando whereas madden in made by Tiburon
The switch stick has been SO unbelievably needed for the entire life of Madden. The amount of times I'd try switching to a defender near the path of the ball and I stead get the safety nowhere near it has been infuriating. Defense is BACK baby!
When comparing College Football 25 and Madden 25, we have to consider that the NCAA is much more modern and in-tune with the fans than the NFL is, especially considering the video games that their brand is attached to. The NFL, since the birth of the Madden series, has been so micro-managing as to what they can add and what they have to remove. For example, the NFL made EA remove certain injures such as concussions because they thought it would damage their reputation, as if people don't already know that concussions are a risk of football. Meanwhile, whenever the college games were still coming out every year, the NCAA would pretty much say yes to whatever EA wanted to add to the games, like job security, certain injuries, and most importantly (at least to me), team builder. The NFL are such sticklers about their reputation that they don't want Madden to include a team builder that could potentially (and let's be honest, definitely) feature online players making inappropriate team names/logos/etc. But NCAA sees that people enjoy being able to build their own school and create their own mascot, jerseys, etc, so they allow EA to add it to the game every year, including this year. So in conclusion of this absolute yap sesh, NCAA is better than NFL and that's why the game is better.

College games have always been reskinned madden games with basic ui and design differences and some extra features. Still the same game with the same gameplay and the same animations, college games only "played" differently because of the playbooks and rulesets. These games will be dog shit and continue to be dog shit until they move on to a real physics based engine that properly simulates football.
You people are beyond help, not only is cfb the same game, all of ea sports titles are the same games with the same engine and thats why they wont move to a physics based engine, its easier/more profitable to just reskin and recycle assets then it is to have to make individual assets for specific games.

You say "oh, you guys are just saying how broken the abilities are"/"You guys also make Madden"/"Why aren't they situational and guaranteed while NCAA isn't like that?". Like yes, that is true, but, they're not the ones dealing with the Madden abilities because they don't work on Madden. They're doing their own thing, so it makes sense why they're acknowledging that aspect of the game

One mode I would live to see is a "Legendary Team" mode, where you can play as your favorite team from the past that won a championship.
And/Or bring back those secret teams from Madden 15 (called 25 on the cover, but 15 is easier to remember since there will be 2 Madden 25’s now) prior that you could get by getting lucky with the random team button that had all the best players on one team. Can’t remember if it was all just current NFL players on each one or if it was different
Hoping the Wear & Tear isn't overpowered. For example, usually your starting QB will play the entire game, only coming out if the team is way ahead. Unless they're taking a lot of hits, you shouldn't get penalized for that.

EA is probably going to transfer a lot of stuff from NCAA 25 to madden 25 like how the ability’s effect the game so there probably not roasting themselves
Madden 26 most likely, and unless they rebuild the game from the ground up it won’t change a whole lot. College football 25 was made from the ground up whereas Madden has almost a decade of spaghetti code and preexisting game that just won’t be able to handle major changes. Major stuff that works in college football 25 may be added to Madden 26 if possible but Madden 25 most likely won’t have any major similar features
To be fair you could play legit 2 games in highschool and be a 5 star and go to any school you want. It's just skipping a few games to speed it up. Still wish we started in highschool tho

Joe’s been positive to college football game and what makes him cares is the in-depth dynasty and presentation. If the gameplay is good when it’s releases, he’ll give it a 7/8/9 territory as long as it’s not another Madden buggy experience and encourage simulation gambling even though UT is in the game.

I don’t like the idea of the QB being able to identify blitzers pre snap and disguised coverages. I don’t play madden at all so idk if that’s a thing that’s been going on for a while in game or whatever. But back in my ncaa days, I would bring 8 in the box a lot but only blitz 1-2 guys, if that. Just something you do to throw off the other player. So now they’ll know I’m bluffing?

The fact that this game comes out in less than a month and there is still barely any gameplay footage confirms that it's just a shitty madden clone. EA hasn't made a good sports game in well over a decade now, CFB25 will be no different.

If you understand football then you know how to stop the option. I’m hoping this game is more physics based and I’m hoping actually understanding football makes you better than someone who doesn’t know any football at all. Example someone who knows blocking schemes to stop blitzes should beat someone who doesn’t know what blitzes to beat blocking schemes.
With the injury system I know this isn’t the case, but if they made it so if you get chop tackled then your legs take damage that would be cool.

I think they've just had a lot more time to make this game. I'm pretty sure they've been working on a different schedule (longer, obviously) than Madden. EA comes out with a new Madden every year. I don't know what it's like to be a game developer but maybe they need more time to perfect it. Or they're tailoring the game for 11 year olds still. Or trying to make it fair for fans of all ages. I'm not sure but I'd assume if EA had more time to produce the game it would probably be better.
