I used to know EVERY WORD to this entire movie. Haven't seen it in ages, but it's even better seeing it again from a fresh perspective. True Stories was incredible in every way.
Know it's been 10 years but here's something close - I don't know that it's the same kids but here's the version from the official soundtrack ruclips.net/video/4C_OTZtL_mI/видео.html
Truly one of my favorite films! This song & dance sequence is really great, though I always thought it should be longer. Solo una palabra: genialisimo!
Saw this movie for the first time 10 years ago. To this day, whenever my wife and I see a group of kids walking around somewhere, we both spontaneously sing "Buy me a - a rubber ball, now."
The full version of the version with the kids on lead vocals of the song was on the B-side of the "Love for Sale" single. Thanks for uploading this clip!
This one was originally one of few videos that I posted. It was deleted 'cause of copyright and stuff I didn't know how to handle abo ut those years. I love Talking Heads and this album and movie which marked the end of the band. It's really Texan and it is that what I really love the most. Was not a good job at all! But it was my pride. And still it is. Someone took it. I'm not mad at all. Thank you for keeping alive after 15 years. Thanks for watching.
OP here. I can't get into my original account so I had to make another one. Not sure if you're implying that I snagged your video or not. I'll just say that I recorded and uploaded this many years ago from my blu-ray disc (remember those? Ha) of True Stories. I recorded other snippets from the movie also (check the "videos" button on my (old) account. YT changed the music on "Wild Nights" clip (back before they started removing the videos completely). Anyway, if you recorded and uploaded the same clip then we could probably hangout and have a brewsky together. Cheers, friend that I'll never meet. Stay well.
@@WorldsBestWatcher I'm only claiming that it was a video uploaded by myself many years ago. Thank you for posting it back. No problem at all. Wish you the best!
For those who may be curious, this scene was filmed adjacent to the intersection of Methodist Street and Dove Lane in Red Oak, TX. The water tower is long gone, but the houses are still there.
I lived in a gothic mansion when I saw this. True. I had The Smiths 7 and 12 inchs on the wall. and Nothing But Flowers 10 inch. When my family broke up, I kept The Smiths "Last Night". True story.
I really love how, at the beginning of this segment the kids' "instruments" do not even remotely match the video. Then near the end, they do! And no, I'm not being snarky -- I really love that.
Was that house being built out of order? Part of it had what appeared to be insulation, the other part had windows, meanwhile the skeleton still seems incomplete.
Is it my imagination or does anyone else hear "Intervention" by Arcade Fire in the music at the beginning while they are driving? I know AF is influenced by DB and it's only a three chords but it's still kinda cool.

I first saw this movie, apparently, well after you have forgotten it....but yea, great fuckin movie.
I wish I knew Papa Legbas incantation.
I think I still know most all the words too, and I love to walk around singing the king of the world part of this one.
david byrne is entertainment's einstein, this movie is pure magic.
I wish this clip was longer. I wish the kids would sing the whole song. It's so amazing.

Those kids, the older ones at least are about 50 now.
If I could always have the simple inquisitive pure nature of Byrne's character in this movie I would have complete inner happiness.
This is like opening a time capsule in to 1986. This is the 80's I remember.
this movie is on of my most favorite movies of all time i watch it every now and then
A brilliant, brilliant, delightful, funny, poignant movie that everyone should see. Thank you David Byrne. RIP Spalding Gray.
Truly one of my favorite films! This song & dance sequence is really great, though I always thought it should be longer.
Solo una palabra: genialisimo!
Two of them are myself and my baby sister!!
cool. which one are you?
Omg, that’s so cool! How did you all get to be in the film?
Seriously! One of my favorite movie scenes

A GEM. Burn burning as customary. Great song, great album. Great MOVIE! 4 talking heads...
*"It's an imaginary landscape, a place to raise your kids."*
why is that line about a little coffee break so dang funny?? 🤣🤣🤣
The full version of the version with the kids on lead vocals of the song was on the B-side of the "Love for Sale" single. Thanks for uploading this clip!

Amazing how Red Oak Texas as Changed. lol

true stories favorite movie of all time.
Now this is... Art !!!
Bless you for posting this. You've the world a service.
this is my favorite thing.
At least once a month when I'm practicing bass I'll play along with this entire album.
I listen to Puzzling Evidence.
It's all true.
Using google maps and the water tower.. I think these houses might be on Cobblestone Circle in Red Oak Texas.
The house that David and Spaulding walk behind that’s under construction is 113 Dove Ln. The water tower the kids pass in front of is gone.

Every one of those kids...
...deserves a backstory....
....and an update.
Where are they now?
The older Boys in that scene are about 50 now.
What a great album this is. I love every track. Each one I play a little louder than the one before

These kids are so cute!
"I certainly wouldn't want to have kids, what with the end of the world coming up and all."
I got my deluxe edition double vinyl in the mail today!!!
I really love how, at the beginning of this segment the kids' "instruments" do not even remotely match the video. Then near the end, they do! And no, I'm not being snarky -- I really love that.
The song was actually recorded by a school choir. In the movie scene, the kids were just doing voice overs to the song.
my favorite scene
Back when kids would play outside.
When can we watch the full movie??? C'mon Mr Byrne, make it happen.😊
buy me a a rubber ball now
For real? Damn, I love this movie, and if ya'll were in it, I love you, too!
this bit reminds me of the housing estate in poltergiest
@bookr98 Who's the little girl? I always thought she was so cute, bobbing her head like that.
This is not a rented car. It's privately owned.
Random goat sighting...
whoever it was is a genius
2:21 the kid that comes from the right and starts digging in the ground looks like young George Bailey
Blu-ray, please.
Yes, Puh-leeze!
It's coming November. I'm very excited.
Looks like you got your wish : )
Axe, and ye shall receive.
Good Class!
Not vice-versa. AF is influenced by DB not the other way around! I'm saying Arcade Fire got their inspiration from this.
Must be a case of vice-versa, mate!
At 0:35 you see the men standing directly on my property just before our house was built!
movie name guys?
subtitles please !
Was that house being built out of order? Part of it had what appeared to be insulation, the other part had windows, meanwhile the skeleton still seems incomplete.
"Oh, no. Not at all."
What, not with the end of the world and all.
brick kid anyone?
Who casted that chunk in the back?
Who told you the word "casted" was a real word?
