    Dad candy in a pouch is probably the most underrated thing you carry. I was never a sling guy, but as a father to two small ones, 2 and 4, a sling is ESSENTIAL if you just want a more "seamless" parenting experience. Hand sanitizer, wet wipes, tissues, snacks, all winners. I also carry band-aids and a tide bleach pen for those days you thought wearing white was a good idea around toddlers. From a father to a father, I salute you.

      Thank you!!! Those things are definitley important. I switched to the tide wipes over the pen. They take up less space in the pouch/sling. Wow 2 and a 4 year old! Good luck!!

    Looks like you need a the Alpaka stabilizer strap and works for a lot of Alpacka gear. You can attach your pouch to it.

      Thanks! This is one of those times where the suggestion seems so obvious now that you’ve made the suggestion😂😂. Since I don’t use stabilizer straps most of the time the thought never crossed my mind. Might have to pick one up.

    What's up Lamar! Man I know I'm, what, 9 months late to the conversation but I've got to say I really enjoyed your video. I can tell you are a sling guy because your pros and cons were really good and stuff I completely agreed with you on. Your con about the non removable straps, yeah that's a good one. I've started carrying a backpack for work and I like to drop my sling in there. Removable straps would be lovely. What brought me here is I just purchased this bag. Honestly I have my 'go-to' bag (which currently is the OrbitKey Urban Sling XL) but Alpeka is currently doing their holiday sale and I couldn't pass up on getting this bag for $50. Haha!
    I have a ton of sling bags and I'm constantly changing/upgrading what I carry. I've always been a fan of larger slings, 6L or so, with a more cavernous main compartment. But I'm seeing that I'm starting to carry things I honestly don't use often which is only adding more weight to my sling. So a smaller sling will force me to rethink my EDC habits. I'll see how it goes. But yeah, loved the review, man. Thank you!

      Hey thanks for watching. 9 months isn't too late especially with sale going on. I'm mostly remote but when I do go in the office I have a sling in the backpack. I use it for when I go to lunch or something and I want to have a few things and don't want to take the whole back pack. Or it is a secondary tech pouch. Second comment on the orbit key bag. Definitely reviewing that one soon. Smaller sling are the way when I'm by myself, but when the kids are with me I have to go larger.

    Great vid! I think the straps are one of the most important features! That v2 may save it! Rocking the AER city sling 2, but looking at a 4/5 L sling. Checking out the tomtocs.

    Thanks for the review. I was literally about to buy one since I’m in the market for a sling and I have so much Alpaka stuff. Did not realize that the mini v2 does not have removable straps (so weird… all my other Alpaka bags have it). That is a dealbreaker and I won’t be getting it then.

    • @mfinresearch6462
      @mfinresearch6462  7 месяцев назад

      I don't get it either. It is a nice sling but I agree not making the straps removable is a dealbreaker. Especially with the size it fits perfectly in a 20L backpack. Thanks for watching. Glad the video helped!!

    I never had the V1 but ordered the V2. Watching Alpaka's demo video it's supposed to fit full sized headphones. I sure hope so as I'd love to carry my Sony XM5 in it when going on a long flight. Thanks for the informative review, and showing how it fits on body.

    • @mfinresearch6462

      I think it will. As long as they fold flat you should be fine. Hope you enjoy the V2! Let me know what you think when it comes in. Thanks for the comment!!

      @@mfinresearch6462OK so I've received it and it's pretty sleek. And yes, it does fit my big arse headphones! Yay haha. It is slimmer than I expected and that's fine with me. Otherwise, all good except the strap, like you say, not quick adjust and quite heavy fidlock (must account for over half of bag's total weight). I got the Axoflux, looks classy. Overall, happy with the purchase.

      Thanks for the update!! Glad it worked out. I think as I use the sling more the fidlock is one of my favorite features

    • @apatrid4727
      @apatrid4727 9 месяцев назад

      Yeah the XM5 do fit nicely, obviously without the case, I put mine in a soft microfiber bag and it fits in the Go Mini V2. Still some room to spare.

    Great review....just what I was looking for. So many people never discuss strap length or how much adjustment there is. I like to wear my slings lower, so this was concerning me. And I do wish the strap was detachable, like the other Alpaka ones in this series.

    • @mfinresearch6462
      @mfinresearch6462  9 месяцев назад +1

      Glad it helped. I usually don’t discuss it either because it has never been a concern. While I love the sling, the straps were definitely the one issues that stood out for me.

    I will get V1 tomorrow. I bought it at to discount. I don't know, if I will like it or not. Like the Vertx pouch, but it costs 165 Canadian dollars. I think it is expensive. Also getting new Tote pack 13 L to carry mobile phone gears for video and photo. I have too many backpacks and slings to buy like a shopaholic. Need mental treatments.

      Don’t feel bad. Might get my hands on a vertx next month to check out. I wish I would have caught the kickstarter. I’m thinking about picking up the tote pack but I wish it was a little bigger. Guess I’m in the same boat. lol thanks for watching. I actually like the go sling. I think getting the v1 on close out is a smart choice.

    My straps are super loose. Everytime I swap from front or back the straps get all loosened up. I emailed the company to see if this is normal or if I'm doing anything wrong. Love the bag otherwise

    • @mfinresearch6462
      @mfinresearch6462  9 месяцев назад

      Wow they are loose! As tight as mine are finding someone with the opposite problem is shocking. Let me know what Alpaka responds with.

    to me its not worth the upgrade from the V1. I have given my zippers the paracord treatment. also I personally am not looking for anything larger

    • @mfinresearch6462
      @mfinresearch6462  9 месяцев назад +2

      I agree. It isn't a drastic change for most people but Alpaka is good about incorporating feedback in updates so that must be the reason. If I wanted a bigger sling the go sling is an option or just a backpack. It it almost like going from an Iphone 14 to 15 (I am a 15 user). Thanks for your comments and for watching!!.

    isn't the v2 just the tech case with the non removable strap? if folks want a removable strap just get that it has the silly grab handle too. I don't like the new version here compared to the v1 but it seems like I might be a minori

    • @mfinresearch6462
      @mfinresearch6462  6 месяцев назад

      I agree it is pretty close to the tech case. Probably uses the same pattern with tweaks here and there there. I agree if you want those features you could get the tech pouch. The is a slight difference in functionality between the two but the issue is more because the smaller and larger offerings int he go sling lineup detach. Not sure if you got cut off, but why don’t you like the V1 compared to the V2. It seems like a logical comparison.

    So the strap not adjustable?

    • @mfinresearch6462
      @mfinresearch6462  3 месяца назад

      It’s adjustable. There’s no quick adjust so you have to be deliberate about adjusting the straps. Also, you can’t remove the straps from the bag like the other sizes. Hope that helps.

    • @mfinresearch6462
      @mfinresearch6462  9 месяцев назад

      I agree it is a dealbreaker for many. I still think because they have tech organizers that are a similar sizes they didn’t make the straps detachable. Still it is a great sling with the straps being the only drawback.
