I see Olights. And green at that. Good choice. Thanks for helping me pick out something I never thought I would ever use. I got pick-pocketed in Italy. The pocket in question had velcro closures. Changed my thinking entirely.
I'm a huge user of Alpaka stuff and this bag is one of my favorites. Versatile like none, I can use it as a commuting sling, on my gigs as a music accessory bag, photo/video shoots, and it was a perfect companion on a summer trip from Sweden to the UK, by train. Everything I needed during the ride was with me while the roller bag rested up on the luggage shelf.
I'm a big fan of Alpaka's products and even a bigger fan of Alpaka's customers support (they really take care of their customers). I own and use several Alpaka products. Unfortunately the Bravo Sling Max did not work out. On the version that I owned the shoulder strap was my issue. It is on the short side. The padded end is fixed in place and only adjusts on one side. I could never get the sling to hang comfortably (I'm a bigger guy with a long torso). I'm fairly sure that if you are a average to small person this would not be an issue. I also found the sling could get very heavy quickly. When packed out it was better hanging on my shoulder like a briefcase rather than a sling (but that may just be the strap again). I hope this helps someone. Thanks, Maurice!
I've had the Max Pro for a little over a year and I love it. I bought it when I drove for a living and it was great for essential items plus road-useful stuff like toiletries and snacks. Recently changed careers and it stores tech for pop-up workspace and my switch for breaks along with my snacks still. On the weekends, it's my D&D bag with books, dice, rolling mat, and of course snacks.. versatile is an understatement.
Okay, I’ve always scratched my head about the obsession around the kislux book totes and their practicality, but this one is adorable!! Congratulations
kay, I’ve always scratched my head about the obsession around the kisluxs book totes and their practicality, but this one is adorable!! Congratulations
based on your review, I've bought this bag with your code and WOW!! this is an awesome bag !!! it carries a lot and still confortable when fully packed! thx!
Yes the color of the kislux is beautiful and it is a great decision, maybe one day they will add feet and straps. It would be nice to have a bigger bag during the colder months when we have to store gloves, beanies, scarves, etc…
Your channel is amazing. Thank you so much for many reviews including this one. I got this Alpaca bag about a week ago and I absolutely LOVE it. I store my 14" MacBook Pro inside, along with an A5 leather journal + cover, leather field notes wallet (a bit smaller than a travelers brand notebook), iPhone, keys, a Maxpedition pouch with all kinds of "just in case" tools/grooming/emergency supplies, AirPods, sunglasses, and several large fountain pens. In the external zippered compartment I carry my 11" iPad Pro in a Logitech keyboard case. And in the hidden back pocket I carry an ID badge on a lanyard. I can wear this on my motorcycle without fear of water ruining my electronics. I wear it as a sling in front when on my motorcade or driving a car, and when walking it's on my back (sling mode) or on one shoulder (messenger mode). It is the most comfortable and wisely designed EDC bag I've ever used...and I have tried so many. It even doubles as a handy desk surface (due to its contoured shape) when placed face down underneath my laptop. Sooo versatile.
It’s so great to see a video just confirming my ALPAKA sling max championship turbo edition (can never remember the real name). I love this sling, just with the straps didn’t get so tangled at times LOL. I didn’t even expect to see you talk about it when I clicked the link and then there it was, great video.
This feels like its made for me. I've been struggling with a tech bag sling and a separate laptop bag. This is very promising. Thanks for the rec and the discount code!
The bag’s strap is criminally small. If you are more than 150 lbs or perhaps a lady with a larger than “average” chest-you’ll want to consider the “extended strap” addition.
Just a recommendation, something which I am sure you've heard of. The arkfeld pro (newest model) features both a laser beam and a uv light along with the main light!
@@KFG721 Yeah it's super strong. I've never had pick pocket concerns in Europe to be honest. I've been in packed Christmas markets with a backpack on and no one has ever messed with my stuff.
Also own this sling. Bought it after getting the Elements Backpack and absolutely loving it. 100% Alpaka should be part of your carrying needs conversation.
FINALLY, you address the photography gear. Since I've watching your videos, I have wondered whether any of the Alpaka slings would protect camera gear. Thank you for mentioning this. The Alpaka seemed to accommodate photography gear just as well if not better than Peak Design.
I dont know what was the first video of yours I watched, but I’ve been hooked to your video. So concise, well organized and full of useful information! Keep it up!
I tried to return an item, only to find out that I had to ship it back to Australia with tracking, which cost almost as much as the purchase price. Needless to say, be careful purchasing Alpaka because of their return policy.
A lot of bag reviews focus on the bag itself and what it can carry and where, but I really yearn for more focus on how the bag carries. How the strap attaches, and how it fits on the body and how the user interacts with it everyday. I had been disappointed with the Alpaka tech brief's shoulder strap and was looking for you to show footage of the strap on how it fits on the body just to see if this was the same. I only got a glimpse of the same problem for a second or so at 6:24 of this video. From this shot I can see the padding ends up on your chest when you wear the bag in sling mode higher up the back. This was the same as the strap on the tech brief. There is simply no good way to shorten on side short enough to get that padding over the shoulder were it belongs. The only way to get the padding on the shoulder is to use the bad on a lower carry position like a messenger or side carry bag. Bummer. One strap that has solved this problem is DSPTCH's badded strap, you can remove one end entirely to get that padded portion closer to the bag and thus on your shoulder in sling mode.
I really love your taste and style always so chic. My faves would be the kislux leather backpack and the Swarovski pave diamond ring so gorg. Thank you for your recommendations.
I am no way shape or form considered a video type kind of person, but, 6:16 I was like, "OOOOH, that is satisfying." 🤣 I would never need something like that because I never do anything even remotely close to video work but that right there makes me want to get that type of setup lol I am wanting to change my lifestyle and get out more since I am moving to a beautiful rustic city and always find myself watching those POV or 360 outdoor nature videos either hikes or biking and I am moving to a place similar but I am a huge homebody but I got this bag as I do occasionally go to a coffee shop and absolutely love bag and minimal ones at that so your videos have not only gotten me to buy the traveller's notebook system that I use all the time now but making me reach for my bag and wanting to get some sort of video setup 😆 I like the chest rig pov because I am bit taller than average (5'11) and would love to get a motorcycle and take videos or go to the lake and take pictures and all that but it's polar opposite to my life and I am a very lazy person. There can be shame attached to being considered lazy, and often stigma attached to being neurodivergent or depressed. It kinda sucks either way. The only issue with the alpaka key solution is that now you have a strong AF magnet on your keychain and it sticks to all kinds of things... Apart from that I like it. I got one with an Alpaka sling that I use every day for work commute.
I was skeptical when I saw the notification. "Another EDC bag from Maurice? Come on." I'm not much of an EDC person, but based on your video before, I got the Aer Day Sling 3 Max X-Pac. It's been a good recommendation and after using for several trips, including a month long excursion through Asia shooting videos every day, I liked it but the bag was a bit snug for my needs. After watching this video, I'm irritated that I might now spend more money to get another bag. Of course, I'm going to investigate it thoroughly, but the sling aspect and the additional height to fit a laptop or folder seems very appealing and might be what I'm looking for. Plus, I like the orange interior - that has made a big difference in the Max X-Pad. Thanks!
I have the mini version which is great if you don’t need to carry your laptop. Love your dedicated pouches for specific functions. Did you purchase the shoulder strap separately?
Love all your videos. Especially the slow carb ones back in the day. Perhaps you could try the 1 Month occams protocol workout from 4 hour body sometime. Super short and simple and would make a great vid

It would be nice to hear about the apps that you think are necessary for frequent travellers to get access to lounges in airports or accumulate points from hotels or car rentals and so on
I would not put lens and camera body like that into a small bag, the lens will rub against each other will likely damage both equipment. Maybe it’s good for a smaller apsc body with lens attached.
