Absolutely the best bag I ever bought. For water- use a flask like water bottle- fits in the middle, or just a flask.. I agree on the green Xpac. Looks so sharp and is very water resistant.

I discovered Alpaka about a year ago. I have the Bravo Sling Max, Tech Kit, Hub Pouch, Hub Sanitizer, Tech Kit Mini. I have been trying to figure out how to best use the Tech Kit as an EDC Sling Bag for quick trips and catching your video yesterday was the a-ha moment. Thanks.

This is my number one complaint about most bags too. The black hole inside a black bag filled with a bunch of black items make life hard, even having a grey inside is helpful.
I’m on the search for the perfect everyday sling, something that isn’t too big and bulky. I get these ad’s all the time and the products look super quality but I still feel that this bag is a bit too big for my everyday, as someone who is very active riding bikes, hiking, climbing everyday I don’t want a big bag that weighs me down and swings all over the place. Great review 🙏🏼🙌🏼
I know this is a bit late since this was from a year ago, but I just got into edc pouches myself. You can use some paracord through that outside anchor point to make a loop or attach a d-ring or something to be able to attach your carabiner there.
This is the first video of yours I have watched. Once I saw that sweet couple day old oven burn in your hand....... Instant respect.. I subbed. Keep cooking. Keep producing.
a few things, their straps are pretty small, wish theyd give extra length and let folks cut off excess. Im 6-5, and 305 pounds muscled, I am a police ofc and use their larger bravo bag, the lined compartment on that bag, I use to carry a secondary pistol as a backup to my on body, when I am casually dressed. I love the idea of this bag, its just many of their straps for their bags are to short! I along with 27 ofcs and deputies who are in my car club and riding club, all use alpakie for off duty and for court dates haha. Great bags and wonderfully thought through! Also on the larger bravo, I just got one in green as it matches my uniform, but I also have a soft armor plate insert that works wonderfully with the bag!
Got mine in green and love it. I can definitely leave my main large crossbody home most days. The front zip is perfect for my iPhone SE 3rd gen. So glad I found this one. The review sold me, and a friend wants one now! Michael Albuquerque NM USA
Thanks for the review. I definitely agree that this Alpaka bag needs another exterior flat pocket for travel documents and/or metro passes. I traveled what seemed interminably recently and such a pocket is a must going through checkpoints or boarding a plane. For your suggested uses, perhaps an additional security catch of some type which could be engaged as needed*. A pocket dump bag as you showed in a backpack review would also be good. Lastly. the height seems just a bit too short for my Kindle Oasis eBook reader, another one of my travel essentials. Recently on the aforementioned trip, lacking the perfect bag, I utilized plain bag that expanded from its own pocket. I had a hand sanitizer bottle attached to the cord of the bag. It turned out that this bottle was the perfect toggle to stick in the seat back pocket in front of me. That way, squished in as I was, I could still grab the cord and pull up the bag, to get the needed item of the moment. Attachment points are always good, just in case. [*perhaps you have done other videos on security features.]
Good video! I've been using the elements tech case since end of March 2022 almost every day for work and going out. It's my most used sling. My only criticism is that they need to reinforce the zipper stitching where the zipper goes around the corners. When you over pack or don't organize it evenly, the zippers get hung up in the corner and over time the zipper stitching will come out. Fortunately Alpaka sent me a replacement.
Reminds me of the purse ads from the 80s where the faux leather bags had so many pockets, hooks, zippers, and compartments that you need a map to find it all. But this is pretty cool cuz I’m a bag nerd.
I remember those commercials when I was a kid too! They were the inspiration to my backpack and EDC organization decades long before EDC was a thing.😉👍
Love this case! I own it in both black and green. It fits the new iPad mini perfectly as well as all my EDC. Hands down the best bag I have owned. Thanks for the review!
Superb review, thank you so much. The orange interior is brilliant, really makes it easier to find things. The lack of that back hidden zip pocket is a deal breaker for me though. I carry a toss wallet in my pocket, and need a more hidden place for the real wallet, and my passport.
I recently took interest in sling bags, never had the urge before since I'm a big guy so I prefer the double strap backpacks, but for EDC is annoying sometimes. A friend of mine had the Ikea sling bag for about 3 years now, and it still looks great but unfortunately they don't make it anymore, so this one seems great. I guess I'll buy a cheap sling from Walgreens or something to test it out for a week and see if it works for me before spending this much money on a bag
My wife thought I should have a sling bag when we travel, and after doing research on what bag would best suit my needs I've come to realize that sling bags are rebranded purses.
I was highly attracted to this sling pack and I found your video… turns out we have the exact same phone case, exact same water bottle, and a very similar watch 😂
I got the olive green sling in this video. It is really great. A few comments: somehow you made the front pouch look bigger than it is :-) my phone doesn't fit although I have a Zfold5. Happy to carry it in the main section though with my wallet in the front section. What is great about this sling is that when you swing it around to the front of your body everything is really easily accessible. It really works well in this respect. Not having to put it down to find something in it can actually be a really great feature when you need it. It carries a lot for it's size and I love the bright orange inner lining. The one thing I don't like though is the strap it is narrow and not great. Although not uncomfortable I wouldn't call it comfortable either. The one I got does have an attachment point at the bottom with a d-ring. Funny though as that wouldn't be on my wishlist, I really wouldn't want something bouncing against my butt while I'm walking. Overall though - the proof is in the pudding, I take it everywhere with me and at half the price of the Belroy equivalent that is good value.
Looks like a perfect case for my Switch Lite, battery bank and a pile of games. If you want a carabiner loop on that tab on the front of the bag just loop a piece of paracord through and tie a nice diamond knot. You can use a nice contrasting color and it will look and work great.
This is a great review. Thank you so much for putting a standard sized travelers notebook in the bag. That was my one question after all that you showed and you answered it! Clean, concise, and to the point. Well done. You’ve got a new subscriber!
Amzazing review Maurice!! There is no one out there as detailed as you when it comes reviews!! I’ve become a fan of Alpaka because of you! Cheers my friend! 😉💪🏽🙏🏽
I first bought the Mini Tech Bag - Did not find the "perfect" place to stand up my iPhone Pro upright & my iPad mini fit a little to snug I returned it & got the Tech Bag (mid size). I have been using it for 3 months while traveling in my Van Conversion in the Southwest. Now I have the "right" place for the most used stuff ( phone - wallet - keys - AirPods - lip balm). Every other EDC (and there is a sh*t ton that actually fits) They all found their place -- eventually! Having a pen in the loop impedes using the pockets below it - so I don't use it to hold my pen or anything for that matter. You get used to reaching for the side grab handle or at times just man handling it by the top. I exclusively carry it a sling bag (on hikes, shoping & bicycle rides) and have no interest in the accessory strap to stablize it. Since you access the bag as a sling while you are wearing it from the back a Pro Tip would be to always access the bag from the back - that way with muscle & brain memory it facilities locating what's in the bag - For me "often' without having to even look - For Real Son... The ability to stand it up is so nice as the mini did not stand up on its own & that was a PITA. So - daily use for 3 months I am very happy with the bag. The bigger one would only oblige me to add more stuff in it. - so I'll stick with this ohe. BTW fully loaded the bag weighs 5 lbs 9 oz & appears to manage it just fine!!!
Great review - the problem is the aggressive organization really incentivizes over-preparing; reminds me of a cross between my sling & tech case (both Bellroy branded) wrapped into one unit. The organization & materials are a definite plus, especially the option for X-PAC which I'd love since I live on the coast. A version 2 of this also needs either a magnetic clasp on the strap or quick-disconnects on the connection points for ease of wearing. And yes, the Queen-P is slick and you should make more; wanted one as soon as I saw it in one of your earlier videos.
I like the idea of all the pockets but can’t tell if I’d use them well or not. One thing is that I often need to carry a charging bank for my phone if I’m out all day and I think it might be too bulky for this setup. That said, I really like the idea of this bag. Thanks for the review!
Thank you! I clicked on this so fast 😂😂😂 I want to hack this to attach it inside my cozy Fjällräven Kånken for organization, and then take it out when I don't need the whole backpack. Yay 😄 I hope I can find it in Europe...
Sounds like a great sling, and engaging and concise delivery as always. But why are most tech youtubers in their 'ethics' statement/sentence saying "no money changed hands"? In fact, money SHOULD change hands, in ONE direction only -- i.e. from the reviewer/influencer to the company for purchasing the reviewed product. Only then would any tech and product review be worthy of being considered 'genuine' and not just shilling
Love the interior organisation. It's something I wish my EDC bag had. That said, this is too small for me. I got the Bellroy Adventure Sling 9L and it's almost perfect. Other than a slight dearth in interior organisation, slightly too shallow from pocket, and no back pocket, I have no other faults with it. That said, I did find a bag locally that's the almost the same size. It has two better exterior pockets and a mesh back pocket. The material has the horrid cheap plastic feel though, the interior organisation is terrible, and the colour options not good.
Cool review. I got an Aer Day Sling 3 Max myself after seeing your review and others and I’m really liking its day-to-day practicality. I find it has plenty enough compartments for my needs and it’s really inconspicuous despite its size.
Interesting. This is very similar to the Pakt anywhere sling that I got about a month or so ago. I’m very happy with the Pakt because it fits my iPad mini and all that I need when I go out and I really like the mesh zipper compartment on the inside. I think the Pakt may be bigger because that outside pocket can fit a water bottle.
I can see You being a great salesman :P They should do this bag with molle/velcro/more loops, so you can use this on the inside of the back bag. Velcro would be really cool because You would just open your bag, get the pouch and leave.
I personally like the Travelon cross-body purses. Waterproof, RFID, cut-proof strap, replaces the need for a separate wallet with a large main compartment.
Hi, I would never put my glasses together with something else! And I would never put my knife into it. It will make problems at the airport, when I forget to put it out...! Nice organizer by the way. Greatings
I picked up the Tomtoc on your recommendation and I love it. I am interested in picking up one of these bags but I’d be tempted to pack more stuff than I need. I appreciate your review style and your approach to EDC in general.
Just got mine today... I also like it "BUT"... It's just a tad too big for my taste... Undecided bout keeping it. Maybe the Bellroy mini would suit me best...
@@FazerJr i bought the tomtoc 14inch for a work trip and needed space for a laptop. bag is super amazing, i cant decide for everyday use to get the 8inch or 11inch. at the price point they cannot be beat Just wish tomtoc woudl have magnetic buckles and a orange interior
The bag looks good. However, I prefer the Rothco Everyday 11-inch Military Canvas Shoulder Bag, at around $25.00, the Rothco is hard to beat. On the Alpaka, I like the idea of the pass through point for a cord. I however prefer a vertical orientation, rather than a horizontal orientation. Also, I have become a huge fan of the concept "bag-in-bag." Basically, organizers that slip into other bags. Like, having a pen case for highlighters, gel pens, and felt tip markers. [I do a lot of color coding at work.] The idea being is you take out an organized pouch that remains packed while using it. I don't think this Alpaka bag is what I am looking for, but thank you for showcasing it. My EDC is: ○ Yellow Birch Pocket Pro (with Tactile Turn Bolt pen, Husky Utility knife, Egtac D3A flashlight, Word. Notebook [& eyeglass wipes]) ○ Kokyuo Systemic Notebook (for a Franklin Compass (wirebound) Planner) [holds my daily notes] also Kokyuo Campus Diary (12 month calendar spreads you fill out yourself) ○Lihit Lab Book style pen case [4 gel pen colors, 7 highlighters] ○Rothco Everyday 11-inch Bag [this holds all of my EDC for transport.]
You could attach a bicycle vibration sensor alarm to it and have it alert you if someonme to uched it while you were at the beach and slightly away from it.
I thought I was a messy person but I realize I was a closeted organization freak. The way you speak about function speaks to me volumes. Please enlighten me oh master ! (that's what she said ;)
I feel like this one could take more gear than my 9L Venture sling because the organizing is looking so much better. For the perfect sling, I would put molle on the bottom to be able to attach an umbrella, make the bag slightly bigger to fit a water bottle and add a lined back pocket.
Awesome review, I dig the variety of topics you cover, not just gears and stuff.. If you have time may I sugg the Wandrd D1 fanny... It covers a lot of what one needs, curious to see your thoughts. 👌
Thanks for the review! I’ve had the wandrd crossbody for a year now but the material started peeling. I loved the buckle design but I think it’s time to move onto the alpaca!
Question for you: I’ve got organizers like this. They all do the same thing. “Here, have 20 sleeves and pockets. Now, decide on which 8 you want to use because you sure can’t use all of it.” Do you think an organizer is better off offering you a handful of well thought out pockets and sleeves designed to all work in unison, or this new design where you pay for the materials and work and weight that goes into making all of the extra stuff you don’t use or want? There was a lot of this pouch you do not use because you don’t have room for it. That’s true for everyone.
It really depends. If it doesn't take up much extra room though I think side on the 'throw the kitchen sink at it' approach. That way you can customise it's use to your liking. All you need to utilise a pocket is one small thing, and it's very hard to organise something separately if it isn't part of the bag without adding a lot of bulk.
@@tams805 I think there’s a smart and a dumb way to do this. Imagine a one cubic foot box. Imagine there is a sleeve on both sides each designed to hold a one cubic foot object. Obviously you cannot use both of these at the same time, right? In this example yes guy can come up with clever way to use it for something other than a one cubic foot item. But, in the real world for these bags this really pretty much is the same situation. You can use the sleeve on the left side or the right. But, you pretty much cannot use both. I think the dumb designs just load it with sleeves and pockets with no thought as to how usable these things are. It’s stupid. It’s poorly designed. The better products give you options, but each is intentional. There really isn’t anything gained by being able to use the pocket on the left OR the pocket on the right. For a lot of containers like this you’ll struggle to use everything even when you’re just putting small and narrow cables in here for tech devices. That’s bad design. It’s thoughtless. It’s unintentional, conceptually speaking. These materials and things aren’t free. You’re paying for them. Paying for things that cannot possibly be used together. It’s stupid. I think the general design of the Tomtoc (which I’m not very enthusiastic about) is a lot better than this. Plenty of compartmentalization. It’s all usable. It’s still very compact and you have to be cautious with it. But, it’s more intelligently designed.
@Maurice, A.C.A.B. - always carry a book! Watching this vidi, I wonder how well a midori notebook really fits? It looks a bit squeezed - whereas the tomtoc (which I bought after another one of your brilliant reviews) easily swallows the midori and even a Rhodia Notebook (about 4 by 6 inches) for a thirds of the price. Is the Alpaka still worth it - or rather frustrating to shove notebooks into? ATB from HH
Thanks for the review. I've been really curious about this one. I really like Bellroy's slings for their capacity and clean external profile. But they have very minimal organization. They're also higher in price than some others, over $100 for their 6L and 9L models. They have a 6L lite version, but it has in fewer organizational pockets.

Loved this review my G !! Killed it .. I just reviewed the hub pouch . I love what ALPAKA’s doing ! Keep up the great work ! 💪🏼
That's a badass purse.
lol
I can see You being a great salesman :P They should do this bag with molle/velcro/more loops, so you can use this on the inside of the back bag. Velcro would be really cool because You would just open your bag, get the pouch and leave.
Ciele is such an underrated brand!
I personally like the Travelon cross-body purses. Waterproof, RFID, cut-proof strap, replaces the need for a separate wallet with a large main compartment.
Travelon makes awesome bags
Hi, I would never put my glasses together with something else! And I would never put my knife into it. It will make problems at the airport, when I forget to put it out...! Nice organizer by the way. Greatings
Really cool and professional review, thanks
Thank you for the detailed deep dive into these bags. (and the discount code) Ordering one now for my spouse!
Have one but have decided a handle on the outside is a must. I have small hands and is hard to pick up without a handle
Great contents and explanations! Thank you for your hard work.
I love OD and Orange
Yo! I was actually an early backer on kickstarter for this sling and I freaking love it! Glad you like it as well. Ps I also own a bravo 🤭
100% agree with the "2.0"option
I want the hat man, its awesome.
thank you for your videos! i subscribed like a week or so and I like the detail and quality of your info! cheers from Mexico
Love your videos. I wouldn’t put magnets and mechanical watch in the same place.
I wish more bag makers would use bright or lift colours for their liners. It makes finding items in the bay easier.
Can’t wait until they get green back in stock!
Got my Tomtoc 8”. I love it, it fits a Nintendo Switch easily and it’s super affordable at $29.99 Prime Day sale 🤙🏼
@@FazerJr i bought the tomtoc 14inch for a work trip and needed space for a laptop. bag is super amazing, i cant decide for everyday use to get the 8inch or 11inch. at the price point they cannot be beat
Just wish tomtoc woudl have magnetic buckles and a orange interior
@@Rob-ty3ig for EDC I choose the 8”. It has plenty of space but not too big and bulky🤙🏼
My EDC is:
○ Yellow Birch Pocket Pro (with Tactile Turn Bolt pen, Husky Utility knife, Egtac D3A flashlight, Word. Notebook [& eyeglass wipes])
○ Kokyuo Systemic Notebook (for a Franklin Compass (wirebound) Planner) [holds my daily notes] also Kokyuo Campus Diary (12 month calendar spreads you fill out yourself)
○Lihit Lab Book style pen case [4 gel pen colors, 7 highlighters]
○Rothco Everyday 11-inch Bag [this holds all of my EDC for transport.]
Which Rothco bag exactly do you have. Couldn't find the one you have by putting in Everyday 11inch bag
Nice review, thorough and multi perspectives thank you!
Great videos that has inspired me
You could attach a bicycle vibration sensor alarm to it and have it alert you if someonme to uched it while you were at the beach and slightly away from it.
Love the detail of your review
Through. Well spoken. Thank you.
I just had to pause the video and find out what that organiser in your drawer is!
Can you please do a video on that? It looks unreal!
Would request one with RFID protection area
How have I not discovered your channel sooner?!? Great content.
I just came across you, wonderful!
I really like ALPAKA
Nice video!! Ordered mine😎
You can try attach paracord to the loop, can be a greate solution. 10x
Love this video. I had been considering the Alpaka Tech Case for a while, but this sold me on it. Please also make more of the Queen P. I want one!
Thanks for the review! I’ve had the wandrd crossbody for a year now but the material started peeling. I loved the buckle design but I think it’s time to move onto the alpaca!
Great review…..and thanks!
Very good stuff
Wow, just stumbled across your channel and... it's awesome!
Great for my gopro gear!
Question for you:
I’ve got organizers like this. They all do the same thing. “Here, have 20 sleeves and pockets. Now, decide on which 8 you want to use because you sure can’t use all of it.”
Do you think an organizer is better off offering you a handful of well thought out pockets and sleeves designed to all work in unison, or this new design where you pay for the materials and work and weight that goes into making all of the extra stuff you don’t use or want?
But, it’s more intelligently designed.
solid review. got the tomtoc sling after watching your review !
@Maurice, A.C.A.B. - always carry a book!
ATB from HH
I like that hat bro!
Very well reviewed!
Great review
Thanks for the review. I've been really curious about this one. I really like Bellroy's slings for their capacity and clean external profile. But they have very minimal organization. They're also higher in price than some others, over $100 for their 6L and 9L models. They have a 6L lite version, but it has in fewer organizational pockets.
