The Galaxy S II. It's one of the hottest Android smartphones of 2011, and thanks to Sprint, you can get it at a subsidized (read: cheaper) price! Aaron reviews the Samsung Galaxy S II Epic 4G Touch, and while it packs the same 1.2 GHz dual-core Exynos processor as the original phone, it has a larger 4.52-inch Super AMOLED display and a 1,800 mAh battery. Despite the added screen size and larger battery, it's incredibly thin at 9.66mm and easy to pocket. Other specs include an 8-megapixel camera with 1080p HD video recording, a front-facing shooter, and Android 2.3.4 with TouchWiz 4.0.
It's available at Sprint now for $199.99, which is a nice price in comparison to Verizon's 4G lineup. Is it worth buying, or should you hold off for the season's other Android superphones? We'll figure it out. Part 1 of 2.

Just got this phone, runs beautifully, everything is nice and fast and with 4G running, the data speeds are incredible!
Aaron where are you this time? The background is different, the window, and the table is white not black. And you look much healthier and skinnier! :D
Basically like he said in the video, the pixels are soo good on this phone and make the screen soo clear.
No worries. It's a custom Launcher from the Android Market. It speeds up your phones performance, is completely safe, and you can change all the icon images to look like an IPhone or whatever.
But how are you enjoying the phone? I'm ordering mine tomorrow :)
I like how smooth the screen looks. The phone is on but it looks like a display image. I mistook the phone in the store for being off then when I touched it I found out it was on. I was like wow this is soo smooth I couldn't tell whether it was the real thing or one of the display images pasted on a display phone.
Great phone! I don't think it matters what the iphone 5 comes up with because this phone holds its own to anything out there. Can't wait for Verizon version.
The sprint network around Lansing MI had always been pretty reliable. Very good compared to what I've seen in Aaron's reviews. He does a good job selling this phone tho.

uhhhuhhh Aaron you're wrong about the "Customizable Widgets".
Actually the only widget "Customizable" is the Weather Widget.

@ferdaws2000 The Epic 4g Touch is Sprints version of the galaxy s2. It has a bigger screen and battery. So it's slightly improved.

@NoNickname9090 Yeah it's supposed to be a Qualcomm 1.5 ghz CPU, even though that's a faster clock, the Exynos is supposed to be top tier mobile CPU by far and Qualcomm at the lower of the tiers. Which I don't even understand besides maybe people who just look at clock speed and not news/specifics while knowing difference in makers.

@AuRevoirTune This is why I like Tmo's network. Their 3G has increased speeds, so you still get some new flavor, unlike the CDMA networks.
That screen was so good I thought when I first watched it that the phone was a display model
EVO 3D is far and away the best phone out right now.

@WillyBangsTheDrum No, the screen makes difference.Even with its HD screen a Galaxy Note can't produce better image than an iPhone 4S

@rocknroll576 No, this phone runs on special CDMA networks and it is locked on the Sprint network
@COOLSHARK45 Epic 4G touch, since, assuming you're on the Sprint Network, will be the only device of the two with 4G speeds.
@AuRevoirTune Oh I know!! I heard Tmo is suppose to be getting a 1.5Ghz version of the GS2. But I also heard it wasn't going to be a Exynos processor, but I also heard the processor wasn't going to be the same, not an Exynos processor.

@P3RF3CTCH09S I just came from my HTC G2 to this phone. Basically a 800MGhz Single-core to a 1.2 Dual core. Dude it's way faster. It hasn't lagged on me yet, and having a phone before I restore all my stuff. All my 8GB of data back on the devices.
So yea, it's running smoothly. It doesn't lag with the Gallery or anything. Everything is loading fine for me.
So basically when you put back all your 100's of apps plus your data from a previous phone, you can get your answer right out the box.
Two epic phail phones so far.. hopefully this one will be my third charm
You sound like you know what your talking about... How would you rate this VS. IPhone5, which I hear Sprint will start carrying. I am debating getting this one now or go with Apple here in a few weeks? I really appreciate any info!

@iBeHikaru LOL, that's sad. Unless you live in a bad coverage area, carriers shouldn't matter. It's saddening that major carriers are putting more and more restrictions to customers just to fish money out of them. It makes me want to not renew my contract and switch to a prepaid provider.
@ferdaws2000 There the same phone. The Epic 4G is just Sprints version. It's just slightly different.

@NoNickname9090 I need to find out if the rumor of Tmo's version having a nerfed CPU is true, Sprint is a good price for unlimited and has good stuff, but I hear 3g speeds are messed up now
Data speeds are great in NY. This phone is awesome!!
You've got to be on something man. I'd MUCH RATHER have this phone (which i currently own) over an iPhone anyday.
this will be the device i eventually get, unless the Nexus Prime is just a beast and cannot be beaten.

@SergiiBeatdown Epic 4g Touch. Watch many other reviews, and they picked the Epic 4G touch over the HTC Evo 3D, personally I would get the Epic 4g Touch too.
the 5 can still only do about half of what this phone can do when updated to the latest framewire, granted the 5 is probably a lil faster with possibly a better camera other then that its still an iphone 4gs

how do you get your wallpaper to slide a little bit at a time when you scroll through the menus? mine just stays put and its annoying

The only thing im afraid of with this phones is when you start using the phone more like putting pictures videos,and your text threads get kinda long will the phone maintain its speed unlike previous android phones..becuz i hate having to wait 10mins to delete a txt thread...

@602goliath So the logo will advertise me with something I bought for myself to use on the carrier that's trying to advertise? The Carrier shows up on the phone's display. Anyways, The main reason I despise carrier branding is mostly due to how phone markets worked in Asia. Phones are sold by the Manufacturer and are not messed up by the carriers with locked down variants and unnecessary bloatware. I understand the phones are subsidized and all that, but an option to remove them would be nice.

I like android but how many different ones do they need to make to actually be compared to the iPhone? This is a nice phone but the signal and navigation/map issues make me not get this

Can you make this phone look a lot like sence with the android market. Especially the sence lock screen, moving weather widgets, and the big clock.

i feel like the iphone is made for people who know nothing about phones and dont want to take the time to get to know anything, android just has so much more customization.
