    Also, as far as movie sets go, quite a few movies that are supposed to be set in the pacific northwest or Alaska were filmed in MA(cheaper to film in Ma). The topography of New England looks a lot like those areas. The movie "The Proposal" with Ryan Reynolds and Sandra Bullock, was set in Alaska but was filmed in Rockport, Ma. Looks EXACTLY like Alaska/pacific northwest up there.

      @@HadelLynnLeyco I'm being silly on the point.
      In fact, in 1968, I met and talked with people from all over the planet, while remaining in Boston. Then one day I met some people from California, who -- a first -- said that I had an accent. I coolly but politely pointed out that "I'm FROM HERE," and THEY were the visitors, so if anyone had an accent it was the "foreigner".
      Otherwise, people with accents tend to "adapt" to the local "accent" once the novelty of being challenged for having an accent from somewhere else wears off.
      The latter is, of course, speculation, because I don't have an accent. :]

    You know when you watch movies like Good Will Hunting and they all have that Boston accent? Yeah, not real. It's maddening as a lifelong MA resident to hear these movies and shows with over the top accents. I've personally done work for a lot of Boston's top actors and their on-screen accents are far stronger than their real accents. Most MA residents hate Boston based movies because of this.
    Now, as for accents, each locale in and around Boston can have much different accents. Those in Southie used to be strong, true. But much of Southie is now very gentrified. Boston has gotten so expensive, many former lower class places are full of high end condos. Anyways, other places with strong accents are towns close to Boston such as Everett and Revere. But most of the Boston area doesn't have those strong accents, as a whole.

To lessen the need to use lotion, I always have thin fleece gloves for anytime I'm outside, even if it's not particularly cold. Under 50 degrees. Honestly, it's the wind that will dry your skin more than the cold...

    Looking for the best state to raise a family and Boston Massachusetts came as number 1. My question is how diverse is it?

    • @HadelLynnLeyco
      @HadelLynnLeyco  2 года назад

      I would say Boston has very great schools! In terms of diversity, I still am used to being the only Filipino in the room and it can still be considered relatively white depending on where you are. From my experience, it tends to be closer to the universities that there are more diverse populations as well as East Boston.

    The reason you don't hear the accent as much is because most of the working class neighborhoods have gone through gentrification. They have mostly entirely new populations

    Im 41 amd single . Should I move to Boston? How is the job market. Does it feel unsafe nowadays like NYC. Are there high cases on asian attacks over there?

    • @HadelLynnLeyco
      @HadelLynnLeyco  2 года назад +1

      I for sure feel a lot safer being around Boston than in NYC. In terms of Asian attacks, I personally haven't experienced any and the amount I've been hearing about is very small. It really depends on what your job is

      I would say when it was a little tough due to COVID. I work where half the time I'm in the office and half the time I'm not so I didn't get as much interaction. I feel like with things reopening there's more chances to meet people

      Boston has five million unwritten social rules. You fuck up the least little bit ppl look at you like youre a psycho. People take a while to get to know you, trust is Huge up there. Think Goodfellas, you want people to say youre a good shit. Get ready for sarcastic smartasses give it right back to em
