We're reviewing what happened when eBay advertised our shop link to the masses.

We have had 3 awesome days in Sales. It feels like the 4th quarter. Great video

I always used to moan when people posted impressions charts after promoting - it's sales that count

Interesting analysis - thanks. But diving into the numbers and impact further… you’ve said your shop visits massively increased and sales as a percentage of that traffic decreased (logical), but did the actual number of sales vs your normal sales decrease/stay the same/increase? Or did the value of those sales change at all? Or did the number of impressions change after having experienced the % sales drop (ie did eBay’s algorithm frown upon you after this, or no impact?). Surely it doesn’t matter if your % sales vs views massively drops if the actual buying traffic is the same or even better? Would be interested in an update if you’re so inclined!

Just to say I really like the format of you videos - coupling some useful information sandwiching your eBay sales. Very entertaining and informative ❤

Very interesting but I think you're reading too much into those numbers. There are so many other factors that affect sales e.g. what's on telly, news, economy, paydays etc. I believe that eBay's 'algorithm' is essentially just the search-mechanism and what it returns as results. The search algorithm is pretty bad most of the time and I don't think an increase in visits would reduce sales at all. There are too many other factors at play to analyse the data accurately.
Did you see an increase to the number of eBay-followers?

Fair point, been in sales for more years than I care to remember and all too familiar with this. We’re generally not into conspiracies but we can only go with the data we have but yes, of course there are thousands of other factors in play.
Conversions are important in any business. If ‘customers’ aren’t converting, they’ll be sent elsewhere.
We picked up about 100 followers to the shop, perhaps we’ll get an order from that one day 🤔
