brilliant channel, notice the lights flickering in some clips, to make sure this doesn't happen you may be able to fiddle about with some of the settings, some cameras even have anti flicker settings where you can change the frequency between 50 and 60hz, will will then give you the option to change between corresponding frame rates in multiples of those numbers.
My sailor boyfriend brought me one of those chess sets back from Singapore in the 70s. I had it for years... although I loved the carved pieces, I hated the awful plastic board. I did sell it on ebay several years ago but can't remember how much for, though it was a good price.
I'm new to your channel and have just been binge watching your videos, great content! I noticed you looked at the Merlin handheld game, and wondered how much it was for sale as they can be worth a pretty penny - just for future reference. I'm a retro games seller and you've got a new subscriber from me :)
It's Funny Because I picked up my first bundle of hot Wheels cars from a charity shop yesterday to learn about them and I got lucky with some early ones from the 70s. So my £3 is safe but more importantly I'm getting some knowledge from buying them.
Chess set was cool 😎. I also occasionally try to get bundle deals in the charity shops as they all know me now in my locals so no harm in asking. Good video. Cheers for sharing 👍🏻
Ahh, Petersfield! Just down the road from me, used to work there.10+ years ago I keep thinking I should see what the charity shops are like - couldn’t decide if they would be way over priced or not as it’s quite an affluent town!
Hi there I’m very new to your channel , but love seeing the bargains you get at the car boot sales and then making a tidy profit on eBay , fair play to you mate 👍. Anyway I have a quick question for you if that’s ok ? I’ve seen in my local charity shop a scalectric lane change and sensor set , they are going for £7 , do you think you would make a profit on those ?
EBay solds is your friend. Best place to see if there will be a tidy profit. But to be honest, I’ve never had massive luck with Scalextric, so would probably pass.
Why turn down the VHS combiner's player? Not for you when potential £50 profit, but buy a board game that might make £10? Not criticising, just wondering what the logic is. Do you not like to have money tied into one item?
I work in a hospice and every penny they make goes into care for the patients and paying the staff, costs such a lot to keep them running as they get no support from the government. The care they provide is excellent, not sure it would sit well with me but each to their own
Alyson, I really appreciate the valuable job you people do & I actually think that it’s disgusting that you should ever have to rely on charity to run these amazing places. We have a local hospice shop near where we live. The lady who runs it puts quite low prices on everything as she has a “get them in get them out” attitude. The shop is always buzzing with activity as its almost become a bit of a hub for the local, predominantly elderly residents. They are literally rammed with volunteers as the atmosphere in there is wonderful. We will only donate there now & at Christmas time I make needlefelted items for their raffle. You could go in 2 days running & everything will be different. Low prices attract sales ( regardless of what the buyer plans to do next with their purchases ) at the end of the day, if you’re going to put unnecessarily high prices on any donated goods, chances are, they’ll be there for a long time to come which is of no benefit to the charities that they represent anyway. Whilst I understand your frustration at the current situation with the hospices, if they rely on the charity of the local people then whether you buy, donate or volunteer then surely this is of benefit all round?
Wow some proper keyboard warriors out there if dont want the watch dont comment simple Got nothimg better to do with their lives , well done i would of lost my s#*t with him lol 💪
Nothing wrong with haggling in a Charity Shop... as you say, they know the value of items nowadays, therefore they have put themselves in competition with Ebay, Carboots, yard sales etc.
Hello from another part-time Ebay reseller (NE of England). Yes, some customers will try to criticise us/the item. I think this is a strategy to undermine our confidence in the product and let it go for less. I usually stand my ground and tell them ' I think I am going to keep it for a bit longer' I then often see them coming back to buy at my full price s. :)

Thanks for that advice! Didn’t know that 👍🏼☺️

Knowledge is money in this game. More you learn the more you earn 👊🏼
Vintage metal trays do quite well if you can find them
My best ever was also a camera, paid £15 for a canon powershot and got £350 for it 😊
What a flip! 👏🏼👏🏼

Thanks! Yeah still waiting for that sale to come in on the board 🤞🏼
Exactly, nothing wrong with a fair deal, they do get it all for free!
Where abouts do you live? I regularly raid these charity shops. Try midhurst next time. Those have always been a goldmine
I’ve got a set of golf clubs you can have for a tenner

Yeah it’s a tough one in Petersfield, still worth the trip to the shops though as a lot still slips through the net at decent prices! 👍🏼

On the hot wheels look out for the red line on the tyres
Heard about these! Always on the lookout, thanks.

Honestly can’t remember what this was referring to. Sure I had my reasons. VHS players are usually faulty one way or another
Thanks mate
