I work in a hospice and every penny they make goes into care for the patients and paying the staff, costs such a lot to keep them running as they get no support from the government. The care they provide is excellent, not sure it would sit well with me but each to their own
My sailor boyfriend brought me one of those chess sets back from Singapore in the 70s. I had it for years... although I loved the carved pieces, I hated the awful plastic board. I did sell it on ebay several years ago but can't remember how much for, though it was a good price.
Vintage metal trays do quite well if you can find them

Ahh, Petersfield! Just down the road from me, used to work there.10+ years ago I keep thinking I should see what the charity shops are like - couldn’t decide if they would be way over priced or not as it’s quite an affluent town!
Yeah it’s a tough one in Petersfield, still worth the trip to the shops though as a lot still slips through the net at decent prices! 👍🏼
It's Funny Because I picked up my first bundle of hot Wheels cars from a charity shop yesterday to learn about them and I got lucky with some early ones from the 70s. So my £3 is safe but more importantly I'm getting some knowledge from buying them.
Knowledge is money in this game. More you learn the more you earn 👊🏼

I’ve seen in my local charity shop a scalectric lane change and sensor set , they are going for £7 , do you think you would make a profit on those ?
EBay solds is your friend. Best place to see if there will be a tidy profit. But to be honest, I’ve never had massive luck with Scalextric, so would probably pass.
Used to wear Samuel Windsor's with my RAF uniform. Good shoes.

My best ever was also a camera, paid £15 for a canon powershot and got £350 for it 😊

Why turn down the VHS combiner's player? Not for you when potential £50 profit, but buy a board game that might make £10? Not criticising, just wondering what the logic is. Do you not like to have money tied into one item?
Honestly can’t remember what this was referring to. Sure I had my reasons. VHS players are usually faulty one way or another

Nothing wrong with haggling in a Charity Shop... as you say, they know the value of items nowadays, therefore they have put themselves in competition with Ebay, Carboots, yard sales etc.
Exactly! They get it all for free, so I don’t see the harm 😅
And they don't pay even half the rates other businesses pay to have the shop

Are all these sales genuine?
I don't believe people pay the prices you get on ebay
100% genuine. All the screenshots are of my own sales (unless at the Carboot, then it’s just a random recent sold)
People do pay, just gotta find the right items

@@thehatchet9074some things sit for months, some sell within 24 hours. Sales get quite consistent once your listings start piling up.

Hello from another part-time Ebay reseller (NE of England). Yes, some customers will try to criticise us/the item. I think this is a strategy to undermine our confidence in the product and let it go for less. I usually stand my ground and tell them ' I think I am going to keep it for a bit longer' I then often see them coming back to buy at my full price s. :)
