    Great video. I love it when 'experts' tell you how much your items are worth. Usually they shut up when shown sold prices, looks like your buyer was somewhat more persistent! Love your responses to him.

      It was one of those ones where I was just watching the profit drain away for the time spent on each message, even more so because at that stage he hadn't even bought the thing.

    Really enjoyed this. Loved your no-nonsense replies! I'm part of the no partial refunds club. Really frustrates me when i see experienced resellers refunding scammers just because it's the easy option

    Some might say a lawyer's job includes the ability to present a version of facts that argues for a given outcome despite evidence to the contrary and that justice is incidental, not integral.Well done for winning that particular standoff!😊

    I can see that you find these "negotiations" with potential customers frustrating , even annoying. Personally I just accept it as a part of used item reselling. Very best wishes, Roger.

    My favourite messages are ‘what’s your best price’ my response is always - best offer is on, make me an offer…and I never hear from them again! Or the ones that swear they didn’t make an offer and therefore didn’t buy the item….despite having counter offered my first offer meaning they have actually had to type a figure in. And then finally…..and I seem to have a load of these….people
    Who seems to want a penpal via ebay messages telling me about their life, collections….etc.

      @@Married2Reselling I have my email on my business details. I had someone repeatedly emailing me the other day even when I said stop, go through ebay messages. Then they wanted me to trawl my shop looking for 8” dinnerknives as opposed to the 8.5 ones she was looking at - which I ignored (I do have quite a few listed) and then did she buy anything? Nope!

    I'd have refunded. eBay fees are not the customers problem. Wasn't worth the agro for that amount of money. Just my opinion.

      It's a more than fair comment, but the postage fees are only there because of abuse years ago, and therefore I don't believe it should be a sellers problem either.

    I don't sell a lot but if a buyer buys two items I just pay for one postage on one of the items and then add the tracking number to the second item, this is how ebay has told me to do this as the items never combine. I also take a photo of the parcel as it is being packed to show both are included. I always wondered if this is foolish and too trusting on the buyer, although to date I have had no problems.

      If you buy your postage though eBay, they’re not gsp sales, and the recipient address is the same for both orders, you can combine when paying for the label.

    Love hearing your mad customer stories! I sold a 2023 calendar, mentioned FIVE times in listing what year it was for, received neutral feedback saying that they were disappointed as wanted a 2024 calendar...

    Really REALLY enjoyed that! And I thought it was only my listings that attracted that kind of buyer. Got one recently "This is not the knife block I ordered" - I'd never sold him a knife-block, or indeed anything else.

    Yes, I recently had the “change of address”, I nearly got caught as I had a batch of sales to send out and that sale went to the eBay address listed. After posting I realised I did not send the item to the address requested. This was an actual blessing because technically I was sleeping on this. An exchange between myself and the buyer proceeded and I basically told them (after confirming with eBay support) about the item has gone to correct eBay address, they should go there and collect the item. Never heard from the buyer and I get to keep the money 🫢🤣. Lesson for me to pay attention though.

    I always say send back as I also do not do partial refunds, I also never change the addresses, ebay removed the ability to do this within the platform when it went to managed payments,
    great video not all resellers show the dark side

    Hi, what are your ceramics wrapped in? Is it a shrink wrap plastic? If so, do you use a hairdryer or heat gun to shrink? Thanks 😊

      Hi, it's just stretch/shrink wrap. We just wrap it but don't use anything else.

    I refund the full postage amount, so say a buyer pays for 2 items with £3.69 postage each, and I can send them in one small parcel , I will refund them £3.69. I do this even if the buyer hasn't asked. I prefer to have a pleasantly surprised customer lol who will leave good feedback and might buy again . However if the customer is demanding and awkward I might think twice about it.
    If a potential buyer starts off awkward and annoying I sometimes just block them. 😄

      Yeah, what I didn't explain was that packing them together took it into Medium parcel. They were refunded the difference to the penny (minus ebay fees)

    Hi really loved your recent video, I am a part time seller in a very niche market and regularly get messages from EXPERTS! telling me what I have got wrong in my listings, Interestingly these experts who seem to stalk my listings never purchase anything, I am not sure what that tells me

    That was an interesting one - you had more patience than me responding although I am never rude when answering questions. You really had to work for that sale but at least no claims after and positive feedback.

    What is it about Italy? I had the same problem with a buyer complaining that his order was marked as delivered three days after he bought it. Might have been the same guy. I explained the situation but the dozy twonk still left negative feedback the next day. Took me a week and four calls to ebay to get it removed.

    We got negative feedback for a "Used" querie. The item was an opened, though unused airfix set. After the customer purchased the item they started asking. Even though it was clearly stated in the description. Asnwered once, opened though unused, came back and asked the same. Again we replied, third time he asked again, we replied would you like to cancel. Long story short, order cancelled, negative feedback left, "Not clear about condition of item." ebay would not remove it as they said we were a bit short after replying three times if he required to cancel. Really frustrating and tried a few times to get ebay to remove it, though even getting a call back first thing in the morning to better the chances of getting an Ireland representative, no joy.

    Really enjoyed this I think some buyers think we are stupid and can’t see what they are trying to do. Love how you deal with these messages I had never thought of the change of address being on items they hadn’t even bought themselves I never change it anyway and do like you cancel and suggest they repurchase.

    Brilliant video!! Really enjoyed this , i sell clothes and get asked for measurements constantly, i always put photos with tape measurements on and in description, just lazy people😂😂😂, you have made me realise i am too soft with refunding, i worry about ebay suppressing me if i dont give customer what they want 🥴

    The only thing I never accept is a change of address, I do as you and cancel the sale, however I have done a partial refund, proud to say since 2011 this has only happened twice

    Hi Guys, If you refund the postage via ebay, you don't payback the refund in full, ebay refunds the customer the requested amount but then deducts their fees from the amount you are charged. I am assuming everyone gets treated the same?

      Yes, fees are removed from refunds. Fees are still included in the postage charge that remains.

    I would have blocked martin after the 2nd message, then reduced the price to 80 quid. Additionally, not much riles me more than buyers telling me to wrap & package carefully. 😬😬

    Refund. Fees are your responsibillity, i.e. customer does not know what they are.

      Thanks, I get it BUT the parcel got bumped up to Medium due to weight so wasn’t just a case of a single small parcel. I doubt the customer new the cost of that either (until I spelt it out), particularly as we but postage online at lower rates than the PO counter. I'll probably argue this next point for the rest of my life but we only pay fees on postage because of unscrupulous sellers that ruined it for the rest of us. Fees on postage really shouldn't be a *scrupulous* sellers problem either.

    I would not refund on principle. He made a veiled threat so had he taken any spiteful retaliatory action, you could go back to ebay and say look as the messages. If the items had not yet been posted, I would of canceled the order, refunded him and blocked him. Your time and life is too precious to waste it on entitled pricks like John & Janet's of the world. Businesses really need to start clamping down on this bending over backwards for the customer, this is the item this is the terms if you don like it jog on. If every business took the same attitude, it would pull folk into line and stop all this being held to ransom. We used to get it were I used to work, folk would ring and say I want this but I can get it for such and such elsewhere to which id say you best get off the phone and go buy it then before it sells then.

    Have you had a request for a refund even though it clearly states it been delivered by Evri and eBay. But the customer says it's not been delivered. eBay are now saying to me I need too send a replacement or give a full refund!

      Is there a photo on the tracking? Nevertheless, you'll need to get the customer to open an item not received case. Then you claim via the courier insurance. The customer normally has to sign a declaration that they did not receive the item before you get a refund from the courier.

      @@marlowbulldog6033 no photo. Customer has supposedly been in contact with Evri and response from Evri was an apology to them and told them to contact seller (me). So basically batting the problem back to me.

      You need to send the customer a message asking them to open a Case for Item Not Received. When they do that, add the tracking and your job is done. You do not need to claim with your courier. eBay will close the case in your favour. The buyer can still push for a refund but it then comes out of ebays pocket, not yours.

      @Married2Reselling That's interesting that ebay would refund the buyer. I've had this situation and even had a photo of the parcel in the buyer's letterbox as proof! I didn't know if it was a scam, or if it was genuinely stolen from the letterbox. I managed to get the refund from Royal Mail once the buyer had signed a declaration form, and then refunded the buyer. Maybe I shouldn't have gone to so much trouble.

      Yeah… I think you were overthinking it a little perhaps. EBay has seller protection, no need to contact couriers or anyone else. If tracking shows as delivered that’s all eBay want to see .

      Yeah.. when I watch the guuys over there that's exactly what I think. I know it's a huge country compared to ours. We pay the equivalent of $4.30 to send up to 18x14x7 inches / 4.5lbs package.
