I'm interested in using Metahumans for comic book characters. I know you said you would deal with it in later videos, but is it possible to apply STATIC, preset poses to MH figures? Can I export figures as FBX files that include rigging? (I'm not concerned with any colors, clothes, or textures.) Thanks!
Great video! Question - wondering if using MH's would be the preferred choice if you were doing an Archviz cinematic and you just wanted some 'realistic' 3D humans in your scene (no animations) with the ability to change their pose depending on the shot (Kitchen shot, Living Room shot, etc.) or is there something easier/less resource intensive out there to use? I've seen the "Posed Humans" pack on the Marketplace (a collection of Static Poses), but it would be nice if I had the ability to pose them myself, which lead me here to see what MH's were all about, their pros/cons, etc. Your thoughts/suggestions. Thanks!
Hello JC, I just found your excellent tutorial. A quick question...when I go to Metahumans Creator, select UE 5.4, but I don't get a "Launch" button. Any ideas? I registered sometime ago, but I don't see how to unregister or how to do a fresh registration. The web browser just opens with no launch. Help, please??
I haven’t check if they changed stuff with FAB just launching, so I’ll need to take a look myself! I’ll report back when I get a chance to see what’s possibly new…
I have some videos on the channel for retargeting and setting poses, but I’ll try to get to a metahuman specific animation in 5.4 update recording soon. Are you looking to use for games or cinematics/animation shorts/films?
@@3dJC I am looking for less complicated stuff at first. that is a simple character animation. I just want to keyframe and manually make a character waving his/her hand at the camera while the camera does a rotation around the character once. Export the clip, and be happy. ( And flex _"Yeeah.. I am an UE5 Animator boi !!"_ )
Cool - this video will get you through most of what you need for making animated content (setting up a shot, keyframing, camera, and output), minus the specific metahuman animation - but if you drag your metahuman in to a level sequence, you'll see the rig pop on and you can set keys on it too (should hold you over until I make a specific video for metahuman animation using control rig :) ) - ruclips.net/video/eTWnzHQJvBE/видео.html
They really need to get their clothing together. That is their pricipal weak point....well that and the project size they eat up :)😅 BTW I did learn something additional about how to blend the characters with dragging toward one side. I have added before to blend but never saw much change. I was expecting it to be an automatic process. Didn't realize I had to drag each point toward the side of the character I wanted. THANKS for the tip!!!!

That's very helpful for my current project! Thank you :)
Same 3 body types. Still gotta have the extra step to remove the flip flops.
It didn't ask you to assign a skeleton mesh when you imported to game. Thats what its being doing to me and im unsure what to say here.
Thanks for reaching out😀

Phew! doesn't look as scary and complicated as I feared! But will we be getting how to do custom poses, animations on metahumans tutorial?
