Thank you for showing these variations
You're welcome!
An awesome breakdown of movement as always! ❤
I appreciate your kind words!
I just want to say how delighted I am to have found you. So much respect. When my son was learning this in our kitchen before work at age 17, he laughed at me and wouldn't teach me. Deemed me too old. I thought right! I will teach myself and dance at his 21st. He's 34 now, I'm 62 soon, and other than not knowing what shoes to buy on a lino kitchen floor, I'm actually encouraged, especially by those patient posts where you go over the moves and remind us to start slowly until we get it right. Lol, I tried to google shuffling shoes for adults and it came back with "shoes for elderly who shuffle when they walk"😂
Omg! 🤣🤣🤣 that search result!
If you go to my channel and look in the playlist called WANNA LEARN? START HERE! Watch the basics videos and I talk about shoes. And I also have a separate post about Fuegos. They’re not required but they are definitely the best shuffling shoe.
Hoi midlifecrisis dankzij jou begin ik al aardig te dansen😊
Fantastic!!! Let’s go!
I cannot believe you had no damce experience
You are so awesome!!!
Thank you so much! it has been such a journey! Join me!
You know this so wild. When I was a kid, maybe 10 - 11 we had a lunch time dance lesson group for anyone who wanted to to learn disco dancing. Like the bump, the bus stop, the hustle, and some others. But my friends and I being crack heads would do it at a break neck sped and come to think of it we were doing similar moves. Lol. Oh to be 10 but there you are 21 and havin fun! 🤣
Yes!! Join me! It’s not too late!
You did crack at 11 years old?😢
I love your videos, and I'm trying to follow along.
If i could make one request, it would be that you wear 2 different color shoes . I understand if you don't want to as this is probably an issue specific to me.
Anyway keep on dancing 🕺💃
I tried that before, but people told me it was distracting.♥️
@midlifeshuffle
Thanks for the response!! That's understandable. I got 2 left feet, and they're never in the right spot 😂
Remember we all have two left feet when we start! Stay with it!
Now that’s a place for me to start. Can you tell me if this can be done on carpet or does it have to be on a hard wood or cement floor?
If you do it on carpet you’ll have to do it in your socks, because shoes will give you too much friction. I personally hate to dance without shoes. But some dancers do.
@ thank you
Excellent breakdown! I’m starting to work toward the Polly Pocket, but honestly just the shaper RM (RM heels) feels weird. It seems like that needs to be comfortable before trying Polly Pocket. Maybe it’s the absence of “stomp” on the count? What do you think?
Oooh, actually, I just saw this: ruclips.net/video/CHclmtVsum0/видео.htmlsi=Qz8Pou5E1nTfUDSK. That makes a lot of sense for starting to get the muscle memory of the front foot being on the heel, and then later the perch-to-heel can vary. Thanks for your bite-sized videos!
Bingo! Thanks! Now it works and feels natural both with and without the drag!
Hooray!! Glad to help! So how is your Polly pocket now?
@@midlifeshuffleit actually looks like a Polly pocket! It’s hard to go slow, but 60-70-80 bpm metronomes were useful for getting a feel for it. Even at just 90 bpm it’s tiring to do an 8-count, rest, 8-count, rest, repeat. But after drilling and then moving into some cardio and fun/flow at 100-110 bpm, it was kinda fun to throw a peppy pair of Polly pockets in every now and then!
You’re killing it! Yayyyyy
❤
